Feel like a high roller standing in line to redeem your tickets!

Take a step back in time.....back to your youth and you spent your weekends in a loud, smelly and busy arcade with all your friends. You are excited to throw down some coin to beat an unbeatable game and turn in your stack of tickets for highly sought-after candy or toys. Look around, you might be standing right in the middle of the Cache Valley Fun Park. I found myself standing here on a Saturday evening with increasingly more and more people as the night went on. Seriously, it was busy when we arrived and it just got more and more packed. There is a lot that this place offers in addition to the (small) arcade: bowling, skating rink, lazer tag and a climbing area for the littles. It's not a bad place if you need to run the kids tired before bed. Just plan on lots of other people having the same idea. Newer arcades have digital tokens and tickets-which I appreciate (seems to be more efficient, less messy, etc.) But if you prefer the nostalgia, you can fold up your strands of tickets and carry them around proudly here. I would encourage management to look into the upkeep and maintenance of the games-several (at least 1 out of every three) had "out of order" signs on them or required assistance to restart or fix jams. It would also be an improvement if there were a few more garbage cans around. There was trash everywhere, likely due to the lack of available trash bins.

    Race car game...4 tokens.

I have been begging them for years now to get new ticket redemption games. Crossy Road please...3-4 more ticket redemption games are definitely needed to freshen things up a bit. After living here for 4 years it has gotten a bit stale. The soft play/jungle gym is really large and a lot of fun for kids and a decent value. My son also loves to skate. We do not love their bowling alley. The balls did not roll well compared to the other alley in town. I am giving it 4 stars because I love supporting local and this place does give a place to go every once in a while for some fun. I also REALLY appreciate the owner and his support of the community. He is a really great guy. We went today and my son had a friend meet him to play tag in the jungle gym. We ordered the family pack which came with a large 2 topping pizza, large cheesy bread, pitcher of soda and $10.00 worth of tokems for $29.97. I think that is an awesome deal. The pizza and cheesy bread were really good! The cheesy bread especially is worth your time ;) So this isn't the most up to date with the best games and not enough selection...but a decent place to spend a couple of hours.

A delicious lunch at Costa Vida, a few hours of fun at Skinny Dogz (formerly Fat Cats,) and then a movie at the Megaplex. We were surprised to find out that Fat Cats is now called Skinny Dogz, but it was the same great place we remembered from before. The girls were excited to play laser tag, so we did that first. I was very impressed with how modern and exciting the laser tag arena was. I have played many times over the years at other places, but this arena had some really cool features I hadn't seen before, such as time delayed "laser bombs" that would hit anyone exposed in all directions. You activate them by shooting at the target enough times, then get out of the way fast! We also had a lot of fun at the arcade. At first the girls stood around not seeing anything that interested them, but after a few minutes, they found some games that they liked, and within about an hour or so they were begging us to reload their cards so they could play more. I enjoyed the air hockey table, and loved the motorcycle race game. (There were two, but the ones to the left were my favorite.) I learned that if you take first place, you get to race again for free. Before leaving, we cashed in our virtual tickets for a bunch of fun prizes. We didn't have enough to get anything big, but we had plenty of candy to eat during the movie, and a bunch of fun toys, including a super bounce ball, which my friend had to confiscate from one of the kids for bouncing it in the hallways at the movie theater later. (Ok, it wasn't one of the kids, it was me.) :) I would highly recommend Skinny Dogz as a great place to have fun with your kids or to take someone to for a fun date.

Almost no employees are…read moreavailable to help (we had to call from inside the building and then wait 10 minutes for a kid to come upstairs to start the go karts). And then the cherry on top was when we took our toddlers to turn in their tickets for prizes. It's already an absolutely ridiculous scam: you pay like $50 to play games that earn your kids like $5 of stupid cheap plastic prizes. But that's an established practice: we all know the drill. Where it really went south quickly is when the girl behind the counter gave my kid a cheap little parachute toy, I opened it for him at the counter, and it was clearly broken. Then I casually said "can you replace this since it's broken?" And the girl told me she needed to get approval. I thought she was joking. We're talking about replacing a 5 cent crappy toy that we heard just earned with like $10 worth of credits. But no, she said she wasn't allowed to do anything about it until she got approval. So we sat there and waited for like 5 minutes for her supervisor to have a free minute to tell her she was allowed to replace a cheap little plastic toy that was broken when it was handed to us. Just to be clear, I don't blame the kids operating this place. This is clearly a management issue. All the kids working there are scared to do anything wrong. But sadly, penny-pinching isn't going to make this place successful.
