    Mini golf castle course.

The kids are fans. We have entertained ages 4 through eleven. We have done the mini golf, carts and arcade. We have had a birthday party or two. As long as we don't run out of tokens the kids are all smiles.

I enjoy this place, but it needs to have some improvements done. It is starting to look a little run down.

Almost no employees are…read moreavailable to help (we had to call from inside the building and then wait 10 minutes for a kid to come upstairs to start the go karts). And then the cherry on top was when we took our toddlers to turn in their tickets for prizes. It's already an absolutely ridiculous scam: you pay like $50 to play games that earn your kids like $5 of stupid cheap plastic prizes. But that's an established practice: we all know the drill. Where it really went south quickly is when the girl behind the counter gave my kid a cheap little parachute toy, I opened it for him at the counter, and it was clearly broken. Then I casually said "can you replace this since it's broken?" And the girl told me she needed to get approval. I thought she was joking. We're talking about replacing a 5 cent crappy toy that we heard just earned with like $10 worth of credits. But no, she said she wasn't allowed to do anything about it until she got approval. So we sat there and waited for like 5 minutes for her supervisor to have a free minute to tell her she was allowed to replace a cheap little plastic toy that was broken when it was handed to us. Just to be clear, I don't blame the kids operating this place. This is clearly a management issue. All the kids working there are scared to do anything wrong. But sadly, penny-pinching isn't going to make this place successful.

The party was in a shared party room and at first we were the only one. So it felt like a really intimate private event and we were able to play our music like we wanted to, and then toward the end of our party we had to share the space a little bit. But with the party package the hostess secured we received unlimited drinks from the fountain machine, pizza, and salad. They provided all of the dishes and cleaned up. The birthday child also received a giant card available to be signed by the guests. I don't know if this was just something that our hostess secured or if it's normally an option but she was also able to get passes with a $5 (or so) arcade card for $20 a person. The pass gave us access to unlimited activities and we could reload our arcade card if we wished. Of the activities that I recall are: Laser tag (So fun for adults and kids!), bumper cars, bumper boats, mini golf, bowling, rock climbing, and racing cars (I can't remember the actual name of it). We were not there for long enough to get to do anything more than once because we wanted to experience so much, then I bet if we went back and we went in at open we would be able to enjoy a lot. There's also a food area should you want to buy food or lunch while you are there. I don't know the rules on exiting and re-entering.

Night Lights hosts a lantern event at the Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC) three times a year. It's about a 45 min drive from SLC. The tickets sell out fast so I would recommend getting on the waitlist as soon as you know you're going to go. https://www.nightlightsevent.com/utah Pro Tip: If you're going to attend this event, keep in mind the following things. -Bring portable outdoor chairs and blankets. It's going to be a bit of a wait before the lanterns launch and you'll need to pick a spot in the crowd to set up a mini camp. Outside food and drinks are not allowed but they do have food trucks and s'mores kits onsite. -Group Setting. It's better to attend this event in a group (2+ or more) if you plan on lighting the lanterns. It's possible to light it yourself but it's quite a challenge if there are strong winds. -Dress accordingly to the weather and bring insect repellent. Depending on the area, there could be swarms of mosquitos and gnats. It will start off hot in the day but can get colder throughout the night. Some people will bring outdoor blankets. -Arrive early. Plan to arrive two hours early before the lanterns are lit up. This allows you to pick a spot to camp and get dinner from the various food trucks. -Central Location. When setting up camp, I would reccomend being somewhere in the middle of the lantern lighting area to maximize light impact. If you're located on the edges, then your pictures won't turn out as well in comparison to being in the middle. Even though your pictures will turn out better, you're also more at risk of breathing in the fire pit smoke and getting hit by the lanterns that are released by other groups. TL;DR (Beware) Central location = Better pictures, greater risk of breathing in black smoke and getting hit by fire-lit lanterns. -Dirty and Black Smoke. For those with asthma or sensitivity to smoke, I would highly recommend to skip this event. Night Lights sell "s'mores kits" which comes with a fire pit, a bag of marshmallows, box of Graham crackers, and skewers. These fire pits are fun BUT cause a lot of smoke in the area and can make it hard to breathe for some people. (See attached picture) -Allow the lantern to completely fill up with air before letting it go. There were soooo many people who released their lanterns too early and the lanterns ended up floating on the ground and almost burning people. I'm pretty certain some people may have actually gotten burnt but fortunately my group didn't get impacted and there was medical staff on-site. Overall, the pictures are memorable and the event turned out fun. I would recommend attending it at least once in your lifetime. Would you go? Let me know. (Except the arcade games) Or, you can pay for mini golf or bowling separately for $10 per person. We first did the mini golf. Turns out he mini golf course is only 9 holes, and it's honestly the smallest course I've ever been to. Each hole is VERY easily completed in two hits. Our 4 year old and 2 year old did have fun, but even at their super slow pace we completed the course quickly. It was nice that they told us we could go around twice, but even then it didn't last long. I was left feeling that $40 was extremely steep for what we had just done. So for our older boy, we paid another $15 to get him access to drive the little kid go karts at least. I thought he would LOVE it, but there weren't any other kids doing it and the course is just a tiny circle so he got bored quickly So we then took him over to the foam pit. This was the most fun for him and he would have easily spent all night playing there While he played, we just got a $5 arcade card and took the little guy to play a few games. This was only enough to play 4 games, but the ticket return was pretty high. Managed to get a handful of little toys. Overall, I came away fairly underwhelmed. $25/person two hours of a variety activities at first seems cool, but each activity on its own just really isn't very exciting and $25 each adds up quickly. For a family of four you're dropping $100 for two hours. My thoughts are, if you want to go bowling, just hit up a bowling alley, if you want a cool indoor playground for the kids with a foam pit go to a dedicated indoor playground, and if you want to play mini golf, go somewhere like the boondocks, etc etc. you'll spend half the money you would at the rush and have just as much, if not more fun.

Stopped by this massive, totally awesome aquarium during our trip to Utah. We weren't expecting it…read moreto be this big and we spent close to 2 hours here getting our steps in and learning about new things we've never knew about. I think the last aquarium I visited before this one was the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California back in 2015. We arrived here a little after noontime on a Friday. I believe it was the last day of school for kids in Utah the same day we were here, so the parking lot was packed. But despite this, we were easily able to find a parking space close to the entrance. You purchase your ticket and then they scan it around the corner, prompting access to the aquarium. We saw so many animals here, including non-aquatic animals, such as various birds and reptiles. It kinda felt like that this was an aquarium/zoo hybrid. The first thing we saw were jellyfishes and how our visions differ from other animals' visions. It's important to remember not to use flash photography when taking pictures of all the animals, as this can spook them. The shark exhibit here, which was wild, was very similar to the one at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, where we live. Two separate touch tank are inside, featuring starfish, sea urchins, and stingrays. They have a South America exhibit and being inside felt like I was exactly in the middle of the jungle in South America with its' humidity in full effect. Inside this exhibit was a massive yellow anaconda, I believe it was about 48" long. I don't like snakes at all, and I'm not going to talk about this any further, so I didn't look at it too much. Other animals found in this exhibit were the red macaw parrot, a toucan, and some poisonous frogs. The frogs were trying to hide from us but weren't trying hard enough. Upon leaving, we almost missed out on seeing the Ford Expedition Asia exhibit (sponsored by the Ford Motor Company?), which can be found on the opposite side of the aquarium. It's a good thing we looked at the directory before we left, because we didn't see it when we first entered. This exhibit is definitely good for kids because they have a playground inside. Before leaving, we stopped at the gift shop and picked up some souvenirs to take back with us. I got myself a snow globe, a sticker to put on my water bottle, and a magnet for one of my friends who enjoys collecting magnets. They have a lot of stuff to choose from, but the snow globe, the sticker and the magnet were some of my favorites that caught my eye. This was definitely worth visiting! I highly recommend if you're ever in Utah.

Amazing place. So wonderful to visit. That was a very fast four hours…read more We arrived at opening and there was already quite a crowd. When we left, the parking lot was overflowing and cars circling around trying to find a parking space. Still, with the influx of larger crowds to parking lot capacity, it didn't feel crowded inside. This is a wonderful place to visit. A wonderful place to bring family and friends..There are animals and species that I've never seen anywhere else, and I've been to the Tucson Sonoran Desert Museum, the San Diego Safari Park, Sea World, Scripps Oceanography, and various zoos. This was a treat. And almost all were active and were seen. Such variety. There is no wasted space in this museum. Walls are adorned, such as a long wall with the ascending walkway going to the penguin exhibit made to look like a South Pole research center. Even every access door for employees are adorned. See my photos. Nice vegetation areas in otherwise unused space. They put a nice climbing gym in what would have been an unused corner, great for parents who need a break and kids to dissipate energy. There are thoughtful benches placed here and there for a sit down rest. There is a very nice small cafe and snack bar to get a yummy huge pretzel, or hamburger and other sandwiches and salads. Looking at the prices, they are very reasonable for a museum/theme park. You are getting a great value for the buck. Whether you are buying for just the day or a membership, I think that you are getting your money's worth. We spent four hours there and didn't see everything, read everything, tried everything. The four hours went by fast. This is a very popular place for good reason--a jewel in the valley. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
