I had zero experience with a motorcycle. Nada. I had never even sat on one. But by the end of the…read morecourse, I passed the test. There are about six hours of online instruction before you show up for class. It's just a matter of watching some videos online and passing multiple-choice questions, which you can re-take until you pass. Once you finish, you're given a certificate that you can print out. Then you show up for the two-day class. The two days consist of 1) exercises on the bike, 2) in-class instruction, and 3) the motorcycle test. My instructors were Tom and Sergio. Tom calmly explained all the basics. Sergio added humor and reinforced the lessons. The school provided the bikes and the helmets. I rode a Honda Grom. The practical instruction consists of 15 motorcycle skill exercises that will take you from zero to hero. The 15 exercises build upon each other to eventually overtrain you to pass the five-part motorcycle test. After doing those exercises, the final test will feel very simple, e.g., driving and stopping with your front wheel within a red box painted on the pavement; driving slowly around a tight corner; drive around a corner; swerve around an obstacle, etc. The motorcycle test itself seems mostly there to weed out the most incompetent drivers. The real goal of the exercises is to teach you how to drive safely in real traffic. If you're thinking of learning how to ride, I recommend Go Motorcycle. My one recommendation is this--it can get really hot out in the parking lot so you might want to take the class in cooler weather.

Great choice! Groupon saves you $5! I searched all over for…read morethe least painful yet not expensive way to take defensive driving. Note: They no longer do the audio podcasts, rather you read all the material and then take the quizzes at the end of each section. At first I was bummed but then quickly realized that it would be faster for me to read it, and the information was more technical with statistics and pictures describing the material, so I'm glad they had the text material available. Loved it and finished it painlessly within two days (I could have easily done it in one sitting if I'd had the time). I had to call support a couple times because 1) I accidentally entered the wrong groupon code so I paid full price for the course AND bought the groupon, but the office was super friendly and gave me the full refund within the hour. 2) The very end was a bit confusing and I wasn't sure if I needed to input any information at the end form that popped up. They friendly explained that I didn't and said my certificate would be ready in about two hours! (I paid the $8 extra for email version). He genuinely wants to help you, so don't hesitate to call the office and click 6 to ask them any questions you come across during the course. Very happy I went with them and I would definitely go through them again--but I hope I won't need to ;)

I'm really happy that I took the online course today. There is a LOT of information but it had a…read morecomfortable pace with an option to listen to audio while you read each page. That helped me absorb information better. The online course lasted for 6 hours. You can't get around it and is required by law. You will also be given simple questions during the presentation to make sure you're the person you say you are and are paying attention. You will also need your drivers license, car registration and insurance to answer security questions as well. So definitely have these by your side. There were a few technical glitches when processing my payment but it worked on my second attempt after waiting a couple of minutes. I also used my Google Chrome web browser but there was a problem answering one question on the test because I could not read it properly. No biggie. I scored 90% on my test. 70% is required to pass. A minor amount of the text in the presentation was not formatted properly for web browsers so you get a missing icon in some wording, but it's not bad enough to affect what you are reading or having to answer the test questions. The jokes are really cheesy but some are funny. Women may be a little offended by some jokes because it seemed to be bit sexist; but this course, videos and jokes are really old (at least 10-15 years) so just ignore it if you can. Overall, I highly recommend the online option if you want to do the course from home and receive your certificate immediately. I only paid $34 with a discount code for the course, which included the online PDF certificate I received. The fee for the online certificate was only $7. I'm very happy and would recommend to anyone on a busy schedule.

My kid got kicked out of the school yesterday after I quit about 2 and a half weeks ago. They claim it's because she's a runner and a safety to herself and other kids but they kept a kid in the school that would hit other kids bite other kids throw chairs at other kids hit the teachers and run out the classroom. They kept that kid for months even before I started with them. I don't understand why they can pick and choose who goes there and who doesn't. This school is unprofessional and unsafe for your children to go! They still have a couple of kids in the school that hit bite and run, but it's okay for my kid to get kicked out because it's easier on them... I just think if I was still working there my child would still be in that school. I'm glad she got kicked out.
