Stopped by for the grand opening, such an awesome space with plenty of seating and cool art. Had to wait a little bit which was totally expected on the first day, but multiple employees checked in and welcomed me and the others in line. Loved my iced matcha, it came unsweetened which is my preference but they have flavored syrups to add if you want. Great selection of pastries and fresh parfaits in the fridge to grab for a quick meal or snack. So excited to finally have a DCDS in Reno! read more

One of my top local coffee spots in town for sure! The pines latte is one of my favorite drinks to order. An earthy, not too sweet, with a perfect amount of expresso to start your day. What an unwelcoming group of two ladies. My wife and I love local coffee shops when we travel for our kids sports. We walk in and the two ladies working are not smiling not asking if we need anything else and after our order there is no "would you like anything else" the girl just walks away to get something started and then doesn't say thank you or anything after we complete the order. You're a coffee shop so maybe have a smile on your face and greet the customers with a minimum "hi welcome to .......... Do better and get some customer service skills. It's been a few days since I was there and had my experience. I wasn't sure if I was actually going to make a Yelp review but I think it's important that the owner know what might be affecting the business. Just an FYI, I work in the Events industry and Customer Service on a pretty high level so I have some experience with this. I walked in in the morning (around 10:30 on a weekday) and the lady behind the counter said she would be right back. She disappeared and seemed to be busy in the back. I waited about 5 minutes, which was no big deal. So another lady that was making drinks came over to take my order. The strange thing is she never looked up, no eye contact... like I sort of wasn't there. Definitely foreshadowing for what was to come. She took my order and didn't get my whole order, she left half of it out. I mentioned it to her and she added the item and then rang me up which came out to about $17! Not cheap! So then I went and walked around a few minutes to check the place out. Then I went to the corner to wait... and I waited... 10 minutes... customers coming in... and waited... 15 minutes... they must be busy I thought... 17 minutes... still waiting... about 7 or 8 other customers had been helped already... still waiting... no order... 20 minutes... still waiting... I waved to them to make sure they saw me... 25 minutes had gone by... at this point about a dozen customers had been helped since I first walked in. I started wandering around to see if they would even realize... no recognition... it was literally like I didn't exist... wow, I thought... what a way to make someone feel lousy. During this time I heard the girls behind the counter talking about entertainment, their plants, observed them talking to locals... they were very chipper towards the locals... but this was my first time there and I guess I didn't belong, maybe??? I never get out that way much anyway but I had seen really good reviews of the place and wanted to try it since I was going to be nearby. I hung around a couple more minutes, all in all a good 30 minutes of being invisible to them. So, I slipped out the back door and walked around the plaza. I don't know, I guess in my mind I was hoping they might see me walking around outside and come say something, but no... I guess I was a nobody to them. Not a good look for those visiting that aren't locals. Maybe the food and drinks are good?? I have no idea. The place is super cute and has a neat mountain cabin Tahoe type look. As for the service... well... some of the worst I've ever had and to be honest it really put me off for several hours after my experience. Good luck, but I will never return, that's for sure. read more

The lemon poppy seed coffee cake and the blueberry muffin were really good! They were really busy when we got there and it ended up taking more than 15 minutes for a chai latte and a spiced vanilla latte, which wasn't great. It was also pretty pricey, more expensive than Starbucks. The customer service was great although I really wish they had another person there to help, one person making drinks and one person taking orders was just not enough for how busy it was. read more

Perhaps it was an off day, maybe at least somewhat the disappointment of Reno not living up to the Truckee location but very sadly it was unsatisfying. From service to product, not even quite "meh." Everything ordered, to stay, was in paper cups. The cup was too big for the cortado, so no design on top--and what coffee shop doesn't offer actual cream (Truckee location does & their cortado was perfect, 20/10, chef's kiss). Hope the kinks are just being worked out. read more

the barista on wednesday morning would start steaming milk and then leave the pitcher and walk away. you could hear the milk screeching and in the end there's no latte art which is a bummer when you drop $9 on a latte. price doesn't match the quality here. read more

Hands down the best coffee, I'm not just saying that. It's the only coffee that I can drink black because it's not acidic or bitter at all, it is So smooth, and you can actually taste the flavors within each bag. I love their coffee shops also, very clean and beautiful. My favorite drink of all time is the purple haze, both hot and iced. My favorite toast is the prosciutto pistachio. My favorite smoothie is the chocolate protein shake. You can't go wrong with DCDS.
