    Steak Frites
    Nik K.

I have been eyeing Drift since my partner and I dined at Itri (which is across the street) this summer. I finally made a reservation for 4:30 pm on Saturday. We arrived and were greeted and seated promptly. Our server asked if we had chosen our drinks. I went with the Mele Kalikimaka (Christmas Vacation reference) and he decided to go with the smoked old fashioned. We went with the Mexican corn ribs for our appetizer. I must say this place clearly has "mixologists" bc the drinks were FANTASTIC! Our appetizer arrived maybe 10 mins after our drinks. The corn ribs were tasty. I liked the cojita cheese that was paired with the aioli and other spices. For entrees we decided to try the beef tips with risotto and steak frites. The wait time was 20 ish minutes, but still not too long. Our entrees arrived. The beef tips arrived "shredded." I was surprised bc I expected actual beef tips (pieces). However, the beef was sweet, savory and delicious. The risotto was okay. My partner let me try his steak and I lived the chimichurri sauce. It wasn't the standard chimichurri. This sauce was a little more savory. My partner was so focused on his steak that he didn't try his "frites," but I did. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the frites were truffle frites instead of regular frites. Needless to say, I enjoyed them nonetheless. Although, I was full from my entree, I opted to try the Nutella stuffed churros. Well, let's just say they arrived hot and were the perfect ending to our meal. The churros reminded me of fried Oreos and I live for fried Oreos. Our first meal at Drift was fantastic. We can't wait to return.

Good food, good service great cocktails! Salmon was a bit undercooked for my liking but flavor of sauce was good. My fiance's chicken was amazing! Would go back. A little bit loud but nice overall.

We came here on a Friday afternoon for drinks at the bar (we ate somewhere else so not a food review). I really loved the clean decor of the place and drink selection. Although it was not a huge menu, it had a good variety and we enjoyed our drinks. The only thing I would say is that there was not much of an ambiance or chatty bartender vibe going. It looked like a few people were having business meetings or just grabbing a bite or a drink and wanted to be left alone. I imagine it might be a lot more different at night, so we are looking to return and update our review.

Went on a Sunday night and were seated in the bar area. It was on the noisy-side because of football games on the tv but not overly so. Next time we will ask for a seat in the dining room located as you enter. The place itself is very interesting looking with the staff all being friendly and informative. The menu is interesting and somewhat on the expensive side. The shared Drunken Mussels simmered in beer, garlic, basil and Andouille Sausage was a generous and delicious start. The Lamb special with a very good sweet mint sauce and mashed potatoes was again a large portion and was very good. The Steak Frites was on the disappointing side with the Frites tasting better than the steak and its sauce. Full bar with both bottled/canned and Draft beers. Will return to try some of the other interesting things on the menu.

French roast chicken and a Drift burger

Tried this place for dinner after watching a performance at the Bristol theater. We first stopped at the Hardware Distillery for a delicious martini. We arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday night and the restaurant bar room was hopping. We sat in the quieter room, but it was still quite loud. Some soundproofing maybe would help. Our server Leigh F was very nice and attentive, an asset to the place. I got the Drift burger and it was enormous, about 1/2 in thick. I asked for the blue cheese mashed potatoes and my meal was delicious and highly recommended. My partner got the French roast chicken and it was also a huge portion. Leigh explained that the wait for food was a tad long because of the chicken. My partner had a problem eating it as it was half of a chicken, wasn't cut up and a bit of a mess although very tasty. We'll be back.

Had a wonderful meal with my wife at Drift on Saturday. The food and drinks were fantastic. My wife loved her Toasted Marshmallow.

I had an excellent time here with my best friend. The food never disappoints and the staff goes and beyond to conduct themselves in a professional + respectful manner.

Been waiting for this place to open for months. I wanted to go with the steak, but wasn't that hungry. We got the Calamari as an appetizer. Very good. My wife got the Salmon which she said was delicious. I got the burger and fries which was very good. The entire meal with a couple drinks was like $110, which is average for a good meal. I would go back again. And get the steak this time ! The atmosphere is very nice, along with the bar (where we dined). I do recommend giving this place a try. Good food/ Good atmosphere.

Refreshing menu with a cozy atmosphere. The drink menu was diverse with IPAs on draft and hand shaken cocktails. Friendly waitstaff and quick service. Happy to say they offer military discount and have a kids menu! We will be back soon!

It's nice inside and was perfect for us dodging a downpour! Staff were pleasant enough. We ordered a couple of draft beers, lobster Mac n cheese, and a crabby patty with a side salad. The food was good, but not good enough to justify the price point; I thought the slaw was overpowering on the sandwich and the Mac and cheese was a big Smokey for my husbands taste.

Nice presentation for the birthday guy!

The crowd varied from some regulars at the bar to a mix of couples, friends and families in the seating area. I took my son twice for late Monday dinners and found only a few tables occupied. Our server on both visits was a kind and welcoming woman who was helpful with the menu. Their menu covers all of the bases - apps, soups, salads, sandwiches and suppers. They have specials posted on a whiteboard with a small tap list (several beers a few of which are craft). I had fresh Fiddlehead IPA on tap both times. For my first time I ordered the Soprano - Prosciutto, Spicy Capicola, Genoa Salami, Sharp Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato and Onion. Finished with Olive Oil, Vinegar and a Dash of Italian Seasoning. $11 They give a choice of seeded or non and of course I went seeded. I would say it's close to a clone of Mazzanti's classic Italian. I really enjoyed it and would order it again. The home made chips that came with it were fresh and crispy. Second go around I had The "Tip" Sandwich - Seasoned Petite Tenderloin Tips, Sautéed Onion & Mushrooms, American Cheese, Garlic Stick Bread. $14 Delicious portions of tender beef tip, a thick layer of American cheese, and a perfect balance of sautéed onion and mushroom mixed in on that crispy seeded roll made my night . Every bite was on point. My son ordered a cheese burger and said it was very good. He could only eat half and was stuffed. I would certainly return if in the area. My kid was happy we got to relax, chat and watched some college basketball. It's not the most spacious or brightly lit place, but those two sandwiches were great! Thanks guys!!

Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside the modern tasting room and outside at the impressive patio and we enjoyed our visit on a boisterous Sunday afternoon. The management is cognizant of how dogs may interact with each other and may suggest that if other dogs are inside maybe it will be better to sit outside, but it is all up to your comfort level. We really enjoyed this craft distillery, makers of vodka, gin, and rum that deliciously feature their liquors in hand crafted cocktails. A customer favorite is the "Famous Drilled Orange" where a hole is drilled into a fresh orange and filled with vodka. You have a choice of a grapefruit and also a liquor-free version. The Lady Guava rum-based drink is also so delicious and there is a whole list of cocktails to choose from. They also offer local beer, wine, mead, and non-alcoholic options. A soft pretzel, personal pizza, and mixed nuts are available for purchase and you can also bring your own food. There is a free parking lot right next door off Basin Street. We were so happy that one of our most supportive followers was also hanging out at Hops and Hardware and recognized us: Dave B., and his pups Dozer & Pugsley! It was fun to catch up and we appreciate meeting others who love hanging out with their dogs and supporting small businesses.

Seating options are at the bar, high top tables, lower tables, a couch area and outside. The bartender (Autumn?) was there on both visits and did an outstanding job. They have their own spirits, house distilled and aged in a location close by. Hardware Vodka, Perfect Storm Spiced Rum, Bristol Springs Gin, Enchanted Indigo Vodka, Cedar Street Bourbon. I tried their Cedar St. bourbon - a mix of 75% Corn, 21% Rye and 4% Barley Malt. It's age statement was 2 years. It was a simple and smooth young bourbon, I had it neat and on a second trip in a cocktail called the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend - Cedar Street Bourbon, House-Made Strawberry Simple, Fresh Lemon which was sour, tart & refreshing for a gorgeous spring day. There was a hint of bourbon, but mostly sour lemon and sweet/tart strawberry. Their food menu is limited with a couple of small flatbread/personal pizzas $10 or 2 for $18 and a pretzel wreath from nearby Papa's pretzels. I had the Margherita which came on a premade whole grain shell. It had a sweet cheese & sauce, fresh basil and the crust was grainy and sweet. Simple flatbread, but it really hit the spot. (The bartender put it together quickly and baked it in a Bakers Pride oven right behind the bar.) They had several beers on tap, cider, tea, local wine/sangria, mead and some non alcoholic drinks. The list of standard and signature cocktails is a pretty good size. Their "Bristol Bomb" - FAMOUS DRILLED ORANGES (OR GRAPEFRUITS) 4 /8 Fresh Oranges Drilled filled Wit or Witout Hardware Vodka looked like a real fun drink! I will certainly return here at some point. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Thanks guys!

Their bar seating is limited, and every time I stop in, it's full. They have two different indoor seating rooms. We sat in the bar area dining room that has a half dozen or so tables. I liked the exposed brick look of the bar area with tasteful (not cluttered) wall decorations. You can also sit out front along the sidewalk or in a small alley out back by the kitchen. Menu wise ... I have to say I've never seen MP (market price) next to wings. Long gone are the days of ten cent or quarter wings my friends! They did have a dollar wing special on that day, so we put in for an order of Ernie's Wings - house-made buffalo sauce. buttermilk ranch. sesame seeds. scallions. wood-fired. They were fresh, a decent size and just average. The sauce flavor was adequate. I wouldn't repeat. We put in orders for two pizzas (one half and one pepp) $15 and the other was what I came for a Honey Hot Sop - red sauce. shredded mozzarella. fresh mozzarella. soppressata. hot honey. grana padano $17. The pizzas came out hot and extremely fast. The half plain, half pepp was typical. Nothing bad, nothing great with a nice char, tasty cheese and a slightly sweet/lightly seasoned sauce. The Honey Hot Sop was delicious. It had a sweet sauce, sweet yet rich buttery cheese, nice char, yummy soppressata and then a spicy peppery kick that punched you in the face. We also ordered plain fries. They were crunchy with almost a hollow core. Not a fan. I had a fresh craft hazy IPA (I'm sorry the name escapes me) that was on tap to enjoy with that wonderful hot sop pizza. They have a couple of sandwiches I'd love to try like the Chicken Fra Diablo - chicken cutlet. sharp provolone. long hot peppers. pomodoro sauce. served on a seeded roll and a cheesesteak. Our server was quick, prompt and friendly. She checked in on us several times. I'll certainly return to Itri when I get a chance. Thanks guys!

I am not sure if Management has changed but whatever it was / is needs to be addressed immediately for the sake of not losing customers. Asking to be seated at a different table other than the one we were initially seated at (bc it was right by the door and the wind coming in was freezing) was the first red flag because the hostess seemed bewildered and bothered that we wanted a new table despite there being 50-11 other open tables throughout the joint. It literally then took 15 minutes before our server greeted us and it just kept rolling downhill at a faster and faster rate by the minute. Appetizers done before our cocktails arrived, cocktails done before we could order our entrees, entrees arrived missing key components and it took a good 10 minutes before we could get our server and the minute she walks over she says oh you need the ABC ... ma'am! If you KNEW what we needed why didn't you immediately address it without us having to flag you down???!!!??? And the reason it took 10 minutes to flag her down was because the rest of the floor staff was running around like chickens with their heads cut off ignoring diners trying to get their attention. Oh and the best part was that there was this "figure of management" present ... and I say "figure of management" because he was also ignoring diners and not checking in with them like a restaurant manager typically does ... he was only going to the empty tables cleaning them, slowly adding place settings, rearranging the empty tables ... trying to look busy!!!!! It was honestly comical at one point. We asked for boxes for our food because we still never received all of what was missing despite our server acknowledging it was missing and stating she would bring it back. We literally never ever received it smh . My BF told her this was the worst service we've ever had and it probably didn't even phase her because her attitude overall was just sucky from the beginning. If this is all because of new management they need to go on and get new new management before this place's reputation is ruined.

The restaurant is in this cute little area with shops, restaurants and bars and is a popular destination because when we were leaving out after finishing our meal the place was jam packed and there was at least an hour wait (but no wait when we came in thankfully). It's important to note that this is NOT authentic Mexican food ... but it was pretty good nonetheless. The margarita flight was cute and gave us the ability to try a few flavors out before committing to a large one. The favorites were the white peach and pineapple margaritas (the other 2 in the flight were the traditional and prickly pear). We ordered the Crab Mexican Street Corn for an appetizer and while it was loaded with crab, it wasn't Mexican Street Corn ... it was seasoned corn with old bay and a few other ingredients topped with crab. I ordered the Steak & Shrimp Combo Fajitas which was a nice portion size (I took 3/4 home) and the flavors were pretty darn tasty, but when you order fajitas you expect the "sizzle" and these didn't have that nor were they have the right temperature ... they were just warm when I wanted and expected them to be hot. The refried beans were yummy despite them not looking too appetizing but the rice was too soft. Service was good overall and pricing was also reasonable. If we're in the neighborhood again and in the mood for margaritas we may just stop back in.

The inside was clean and the bar area I sat at although small was a decent spot to have a drink and grub. The staff was mostly young kids who were very nice. The chips and salsa they offer were boring. The salsas both roja and verde lacked flavor, mostly spice. The chips were fresh, but thick and bland. I think a thinner homemade style would work better. The first bartender I dealt with was great with the menu. She recommended several menu items. I ended up rolling with the Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas at $18 - jumbo lump crab, old bay cream cheese, tiger shrimp, cilantro and lime rice. The lime rice was worthless. It had zero flavor and was dry. The Enchiladas were creamy, but lacked spice and complexity. The tiger shrimp had a delicious grilled, moist flavor and were the best part. My second trip had a newer bartender who was getting her feet wet. She was friendly, but busy familiarizing herself with the bar so I went simple and ordered Birria Tacos - $15 Braised beef, onions, cilantro, lime Oaxaca cheese, consommé. The beef was dry and not tender. The shells were ok. The best part was the lime Oaxaca cheese and the consommé somewhat helped me get the beef down. The portion was very small. Not a good value in my humble opinion. The other patrons were mostly young and enjoying margaritas. I think booze is the draw to this spot. Without it your just getting average Mexican grub. Heck of a location in the Borough, but my visits left me longing for a hot pepper!
