The beers were also great and we got all of this for less than $60 after tip. They had the World Cup on and it was a great vibe. They were as good as I remember the first time I had them. I even got the rest of my family hooked on their fish tacos. The flavor profile is right up my alley. And, since my last visit, I noticed that the chips they used were much better. They've listened and improved on the chips. No more stale chips here. In fact, they really complemented the Yellowtail Ceviche. I thought this was incredible! I didn't get a photo of it because we shared it among our party. Let's just say, this will be on my next order the next time I return. We also tried their Frozen Lemonade, which was perfect for the hot afternoon. It's a bit pricey but it's not far from the prices of regular, non-frozen drinks. Definitely good to have especially on a warm day! The service was great. And I'm just glad we all enjoyed our food here. This is now going to be one of my favorite stops to grab a bite in San Juan Capistrano. Highly recommend!

We got there around 11am and plenty of outdoor seating to accommodate our three dogs. We ordered two skinny margaritas, the shrimp taquitos, chile Torreados and al pastor plate. The first to arrive is the lovely chips and salsa along with their bean dip which is a favorite of mine. The skinny margaritas were so refreshing and light especially in the summer weather. The shrimp taquitos is one of the best items on the menu, they came out piping hot and crispy. They were fried to perfection and the shredded lettuce, sauce and tomatoes gave it a dynamic flavor. We shared the al pastor plate and made ourselves tacos to enjoy. The service was quick & friendly and the food came out hot and ready to enjoy. If you're looking for Mexican food near the beach in Dana Point, Carmelitas is the place to go.

The fries that came with them were fresh, crispy, and nicely seasoned. Definitely will be getting this dish each time we come here from now on! The Straight to the Point Burger had a super tender patty that practically melted in your mouth, but I felt like it was missing something. Maybe a little more seasoning or a nice char on the patty would've made it better. The thick-cut fries we ordered separately were pretty basic and just lightly salted. The Angry Chicken Sandwich had a strong cumin flavor, and the spice definitely packed a punch. Overall, a great spot to grab drinks and food with friends as the service was quick! The Mango Ginger Fizz and Lucky Wings were my absolute favorites.

You get to select your own wine from their list to try at your own pace. Each time we went back for our next selection, the lovely ladies at the bar were always friendly and delightful. We wished to order the charcuterie box, but they were out, so we went with the Mediterranean board and beef empanadas served with chimichurri sauce - I'd order both again. Their happy hour is very generous, with a BOGO on drinks. Being right on the Harbor wharf, there was a slight breeze which was a welcome relief after the heatwaves the last couple of weeks. The courtyard is covered, so out of the sun, and super spacious. Only negative was the music situation. It was super spotty and dropped out a lot, quite annoying.

We arrived about 15 minutes before they were fully open so we sat on the patio looking at the wine options and talked until they opened. Ended up getting a bottle of the Cab Sauv and the Dark Elements to enjoy with the live music. The staff was excellent the entire time even when they got busy. Shout out to Lauren, Christian, Rachel and Shay for the excellent service! Specially Lauren who took care of us from open to close even with a little humorous mix up when she thought I was the live music. Lol great time highly recommend trying them. Being a brewery, guess what, they specialize in beer lol, so I love getting the beer flight so I can taste four of my choice. Slight drawback, they don't serve food, so usually it's a stop before or after dining for us, or just when you're out looking for a vibrant cool place with great people to have a few good beers and bring your dog.
