Completely inappropriate. I'm not aware of having done anything wrong aside from making a purchase and briefly talking to the vendor at the adjacent stand, Ommas Garden, with whom I had some history and who took photos of me while I was making my purchase. The Cuyama seller has exhibited unprofessional behaviour in the past, but I did not interact with him today until he decided to play police. I returned my purchase and won't be getting apples from Cuyama again.

The Big Red Barn has a lot of fresh fruit, baked goods, and other treats to choose from. The real fun is when you pick the fruit yourself though. We got ourselves some sweet blackberries to take home. Out on the farm, we had the best tractor ride and learned some fun facts about fruits, as well as slid on the huge slide and played some outdoor games. While we were here, we ate some oakie pies. My favorite is thanksgiving dinner. It tastes just like November-- Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and gravy. They have other tasty savory pies like the chicken pot pie, blueberry pulled pork, and the breakfast pie. Of course, you could get some sweet ones too! The service is very friendly and the farm truly has fun for everyone! I can't wait to come back for stone fruit season.

If you decided to pick fruit you pay by the pound at the end which is reasonable but the fee per person just to walk around seemed on the high end. They have goats, chickens, peacocks, a variety of birds, chickens and roosters and cool art displays. We saw signs for paintballing and hayrides though I didn't see any wagons operating. The main reason we stopped was to try the Okie Pies. I had never heard of them and I am always looking to try new things. They remind me of a large empanada or handheld meat pie. We tried 3 savory and 1 dessert Okie Pie. They were out of blueberry so we settled for Apple and it was good but super sweet. I love desserts and unless you're a diehard apple pie fan you may find this to be too sweet. Savory flavors were salsa verde, chicken pot pie, and blueberry BBQ pork. The blueberry BBQ sounds odd but it was everyone's favorite. Everyone was very friendly and there was even someone who let the kids pet the goats and roosters. We'll stop on the way back home for more blueberry BBQ Okie Pies.

You can either buy your baskets right away or look around the shop. Lots of good stuff in the shop, but you should wait until you are heading out to grab stuff. After we paid for our baskets, we loaded into the tram and was driven to the cherry area. When you stopped, the attendances guided us to the 3 rows we can pick from. I understand to keep the crowd controlled and make sure the farm doesn't get trampled. The weather was perfect so we took our time, walked to the back of the rows and moved forward as we picked. They were red and beautiful, grabbed our baskets once they were full and headed back. He did buy some strawberries and honey comb inside the Little Purple Barn. Wow. It had been a…read morecouple of years since I first became aware of Bloom Ranch. I'm not originally from California, but in the spaces I've moved through, I've always done my best to support Black-owned businesses whenever possible. Unbeknownst to me, I had no idea Bloom Ranch hosted a jazz brunch experience on the property. I was reminded about Bloom Ranch by someone whose opinion I trust deeply. She had traveled all the way from San Diego for the experience and left without words. She couldn't quite explain the levity, the love, the light, or what she had felt there. That was all I needed to know. I immediately booked a Sunday brunch and came with my partner and another couple. The experience begins long before you arrive. Driving from Pasadena into Acton, the landscape slowly transforms. The city gives way to rocky hills, rugged peaks, and wide-open skies. Then suddenly, you turn into Bloom Ranch and find yourself transported. Lush gardens, lavender, herbs, fruit trees, and rows of vibrant greenery welcome you onto the property. It feels as though you've stepped into another world entirely. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not only by the Bloom Ranch staff, the people who steward and cultivate the land, but by what genuinely felt like family. From start to finish, we were cared for, supported, and guided through an experience that felt intentional in every way. The soulful jazz music would periodically pull you out of conversation because it was simply too beautiful not to fully absorb. The food was prepared in-house, sourced from the land, and served by people whose care and intention could be felt in every detail. What surprised me most was how spiritual the experience felt. There is something profoundly grounding about being surrounded by people who genuinely love the land, nurture it, and share its abundance with others. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, Bloom Ranch offers something increasingly rare, presence. It invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember your connection to nature, community, and yourself. I am filled with immense gratitude for having experienced something so special, created by people who look like me, people who feel like me, people who are intentionally cultivating peace, connection, stewardship of the land, and community. I was also filled with an incredible sense of pride. Bloom Ranch is the largest Black-owned ranch in Los Angeles County, and its existence feels both meaningful and necessary. Dr. Bill Releford is a beacon, a pillar of optimism, wisdom, and possibility. To witness someone carry the values and lessons of his upbringing through a successful medical career and into the creation and stewardship of Bloom Ranch is truly inspiring. And then there is Debra Releford, the Matriarch, whose warmth and presence seem to illuminate the heart and soul of the ranch itself. To say that I will return almost feels inadequate. It makes it sound like Bloom Ranch is simply a venue where one has an experience and then goes home. That is not what this felt like. What it felt like was being welcomed into a family. Into a community. Into a frequency of love, joy, nourishment, and belonging that has been needed for a very long time. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr. Bill Releford, Debra, and the entire team who made this experience possible. What you have created is deeply meaningful. Forever grateful.

I haven't been back here since COVID occurred, but I'm so happy to have come back here to…read moreexperience cherry picking again! I came here with family on a weekend, and due to the large crop bloom, there was a BOGO deal going on this year where if you buy 1 bucket, you get another bucket free! It 's always extremely hot whenever we come here as it would be usually in the summer months. I suggest being prepared because you walk up a small incline in between rows of cherry trees, so being hydrated is necessary. Parking and entrance is free, instructions are given by staff and they lead you to where to go to begin picking. General rules include no eating the cherries inside, no yanking cherries off of branches (leaving stems behind help them grow again), and for the BOGO deal, you must fill up an entire bucket. Now, it can be pricey because it's currently at $6.50 a lb (.50 cents increase compared to pre-covid) and I think a bucket can contain at LEAST 10-12 lbs. So you need to shell out at least $65 in order to do the BOGO deal for example. A staff actually said that a bucket might cost about $85 each when I asked. We didn't do the deal because that would be too much for our small family, so I think this is optimal for large groups! We ended up paying $48 for our bucket and we went our ways. Good for a quick hour. Too long and you may overheat from the heat! - bring own water, bottles sold onsite are $2 each - local honey is also sold - 2 lbs minimum for adult to purchase - overall fun and unique experience! - always double check dates and times, sometimes they close at 1/2pm!

It's best to go on a weekday or around open on the weekend (7:00am) to avoid crowds. It gets hot during the day, so going early also helps to avoid the heat. The cherry trees do provide some shade though. Parking is free and easy to find. There is no entrance fee, but there is a $10 minimum per person. Cherries are priced at $6.50 per pound. You pay for the cherries at the end after you're done picking. The farm also sells honey that can be purchased when you pay for the cherries. The staff are kind and helpful. Upon arrival, we were given buckets for picking the cherries and given an explanation on where to go and what cherries are currently ripe for picking. Most of the cherries ready to pick at the time were Brooks and Rainiers. There were a few Bing cherry trees to pick from as well. The crop this year is top tier in quantity and quality due to the good weather. While we were picking cherries, there are staff members who walk around with hooks to help people access cherries that are out of reach. Shoutout to Ramon who helped us reach the ripest cherries on many Brooks and Rainier trees! We chatted with him about all things cherry and he told us about wrinkled cherries. These cherries are some of the sweetest ones due to the sun exposure and partial dehydration which result in a more concentrated flavor. We appreciate his insights and enjoyed his company while cherry picking. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Villa del Sol and give it 5/5 across all categories. Highly recommend to anyone who has not visited a cherry farm, picked cherries, or looking for a fun date idea. The cherries are so sweet and much better than the store-bought ones. We will definitely be back!
