We were able to grab the last of the season's navel and Cara Cara oranges, along with some fresh lemons. Everything was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. We also picked up some dates, which are absolutely delicious. I love mine stuffed with good Irish butter and cheddar, it's the perfect sweet and savory combo. My wife prefers hers with Skippy peanut butter, and she absolutely loves them. As always, the staff were wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. It's become a bit of a tradition for us, and we'll definitely keep coming back every time we're in the area.

You can either buy your baskets right away or look around the shop. Lots of good stuff in the shop, but you should wait until you are heading out to grab stuff. After we paid for our baskets, we loaded into the tram and was driven to the cherry area. When you stopped, the attendances guided us to the 3 rows we can pick from. I understand to keep the crowd controlled and make sure the farm doesn't get trampled. The weather was perfect so we took our time, walked to the back of the rows and moved forward as we picked. They were red and beautiful, grabbed our baskets once they were full and headed back. He did buy some strawberries and honey comb inside the Little Purple Barn. You do have to come early for the pies, there may not have any later in the day. The cherry picking is only on the weekends.

This totally felt like a hidden gem. I've been to Ojai a handful of times now and have really just…read morestuck around the main part of town, but Topa Vista Farm is definitely worth the 15ish minute jaunt to the outskirts of town. We decided to check it out as our last thing in Ojai before heading back to LA and actually got a little lost looking for the farm since the sign wasn't out yet. The entrance is actually on Sulphur Mountain Road and there's a sign on the fence that can be a little misleading (it says something like "local traffic only"). We found the farm right at 2 pm and Richard asked for us to come back since he was still setting up. It was a super hot week in the area, so we were happy they were even open! We took a little drive up the windy road and came back about 10 minutes later. The farm stand is small but packs a serious punch. We were there in August so there were lots of tomatoes and summer squash available. He's also got dried sage bundles (totally gift-worthy), other herbs, garlic, and onions. We didn't have cash on us, but he does take Venmo which is nice. We left with a big bounty of heirloom tomatoes and squash for $14. A bit off the beaten path, but a super worthy stop on your next trip to Ojai!

They are pretty fairly priced but it can add up quickly if you get too excited getting a bit of everything. We like to come by during berry season. We also come for pumpkin season. They have a few rows of fruits where you can shop and pick yourself. Sometimes they will also have pre selected boxes where you can't swap, just take as is. I do think it's better to pick your own fruit. We've gotten pre selected boxes before and haven't had great luck, with some fruit being old and on the verge of expiring. Good to know: they have a giant pokeball for decoration by the parking lot, which makes a good photo op for kids (and adults too).
