This was my first (and second) visit to the service department of the Mini dealer this week to complete a recall on my car, which was dropped off and picked up in less than 48 hours, as well as a complimentary loaner vehicle in the meantime. I live almost 2 hours away and chose this particular dealer due to high ratings online as well as recommendations from my Mini Cooper Clubs. I sure wish i had known about this business sooner and also wish I lived closer, but I'm thankful to have the knowledge now and plan to utilize them in the future. Communication was top notch from scheduling an appointment until the time my keys were returned to me. I received updates and reports via text, phone call, video, and printouts during the entire process. Timely, polite, and professional. Every employee I encountered was so kind, patient, and polite, which I really appreciated. I'm not the best "patient" when it comes to my car due to past experiences (a catastrophic engine failure) and a lot of sentiment (hubby gifted me the car). So, I want to give a special shout-out to Dean Bunting in Service for taking the time to listen to a bit of my "story", explaining the diagnostic reports and findings in layman terms, and allaying my fears to enable me to make decisions. Finally, I enjoyed all of the eye candy in the parking lot -- Minis in every color and size as far as the eye could see..... Very tempted to return to potentially upgrade my model when I'm ready or maybe just add to the fleet. read more

Never again. 07 hatchback S. I've used outside sources for years. This was a warranty recall, while there they came up with roughly $4200 of additional work recommendations. Passed on all mentioned due to questions and costs. Outside service, exact same items for 1/3 the cost, if necessary! Now let's add insult to injury. Absolutely no idiot lights were on when we dropped the car off. When we picked it up, after hours, the airbag and seatbelt idiot lights are now on!! Never before have these been an issue, ever! Of course, the dealerships position is "coincidence ". Coincidence, really, that's their claim, my ass. Wasn't there when dropped and of course their steller mechanics couldn't possibly do wrong, nothing they were involved with could have possibly triggered these lights. Customer service at its worst. They performed all sorts of tests and I end up with idiot lights, not previously an issue, lit up. Coincidence. Of course they can rectify a problem that occurred while in their possession with a cost. BS. Customer satisfaction, that's a joke and horrendously expensive. Save yourself, your car and your money. Go elsewhere, there are multiple really good shops out there for far less money and BS. Never again. I'm going to go one better, it's headed to my preferred mini mechanic and I'll follow up on their crap afterwards. Nice cars new, don't keep on past warranty if you're looking new and have to have one. I wouldn't. Never again. read more

Our MINI stopped in the rain by itself. They did not repair the car, they did not honor the warranty, we had to settle for a trade-in deal, and now they are preparing to sell the car. The details: We absolutely loved working with this dealership for the last 2.5 years. We traded in two cars and purchased two cars, and the MINIs are way too much fun to drive. But when our 2023 Electric Mini Cooper SE applied the brakes on its own in the rain, shut down all interior displays and lights, came to a stop, and was then hit from behind, they did nothing to repair it. We took the car in within an hour on the morning of the accident, and that afternoon, they called MINI corporate, who took the case from there. Three months later, corporate finally told us they "couldn't confirm" what my wife reported, and because of that, our warranty claim was invalid. In addition, we were told that the case went all the way to the manufacturer in Germany. They did not interview my wife or the witness who hit the car. Instead, they claimed they got all information needed from the dealership. I don't believe the car was ever physically inspected - they only downloaded information from the onboard computer. The recall explains that water can leak into the battery, causing the car to stall in the rain - exactly what my wife experienced. I directly asked the corporate representative if they had performed a leak test on the battery. They then stopped replying to my emails, and the service manager told us he needed his loaner car back, putting pressure on us to finalize the trade-in deal they had offered. So we suspect MINI was trying to avoid another recall by denying my wife's account, and the dealership worked in coordination with them in an attempt to make this all go away. The sales manager at D&R said he would advocate for us, but simply repeated what corporate said, and claimed he could not give us a full reimbursement for the car. The service manager said his hands were tied because corporate had made their decision - he had to rely on corporate's decision that my wife's account is not to be believed. The service manager, to his credit, actually listened to what I had to say when we spoke on the phone. But one of their service representatives, as well as the sales manager, interrupted and shushed us whenever we tried to explain what actually happened. Since corporate did not approve a warranty claim, we were left with the distasteful option of making a deal to buy a new car instead of having ours repaired or being reimbursed for its full retail value. If we actually wanted to trade in the car, we would have been happily skipping out of the dealership with an amazing offer. Instead we are faced with the reality that not only did MINI refuse to repair the car or reimburse us for its full value, now they are going to sell it to someone who has no idea they are putting their own lives in danger when they drive it in the rain. read more

I bought a fun Mini S new from DR in 2015 and have had all necessary work performed here. I have found the two service advisors (Alex and Elijah) both professional, honest and they keep me updated on the service time as well as offering alternate transportation as needed. I've had loaners as well as rental cars (via the Enterprise which is located directly behind the dealership) provided at no charge when needed. The waiting area is comfortable with good WiFi. There is also a nice complimentary snack/coffee/drink bar available with Starbucks coffee and tea to brew in a Keurig-style machine. I will note that my car has been under warranty for all work performed. I did elect to buy the extended warranty, as well as tire/wheel insurance. For those people who are naysayers, I've had 3 tires replaced (run flats can't be repaired-and should I even mention IN roads?), a complete brake job, all oil changes/fluids/windshield wipers at no charge. I've essentially spent no money on any maintenance since I bought the car 5 years ago. I found both purchases to be a great value compared to the overall additional cost upfront. Thanks, DR! Extremely grateful for the excellent service I got here after a road emergency. I got a flat tire after hitting a pothole on 465 early in a long road trip and also had two cats with me. Dean fit me in right away and put a rush order on it, plus he gave me a quiet office to sit in with my scared cats. I was back on the road quickly, which enabled me to still finish the trip that day rather than needing to find a hotel. Seriously, I hate car salesmen, I hate broken down cars, I hate getting my car fixed. I literally wait till the tires fall off and the engine explodes before replacing a car. I drive on average 60 miles a day and 100+ on weekends. My last car was a 2009 Dodge Caliber with 235,000 miles on it. It honestly went into limp mode on its last day, In March 2018. I bought a 2018 Countryman S, my first new car and by far my favorite. Joe Barth knew what I needed (to be left alone and take a bunch of questions over email and text over a long week) and let me joy ride, I mean...demo any car I wanted with a smile. I told them I needed a car that if anything goes wrong I can just bring to them and fix. With the warranty and service package that's just what I do. I take it in for oil changes, busted tire, and a condensation problem. No discussion, no debate, no hassle. Elijah just takes my keys asks me about my day and smiles when I ask "what's the catch" when he hands me a car to a loaner and sends me on my way. I REALLY appreciate these guys. read more

UPDATE: I wanted to rescind my prior comment regarding this dealer. It appears that a miscommunication of information between management, service, and myself as a client had led to a domino effect. Shortly after my comment, I got a call from John Collins who happens to be the GM of the group. He was extremely apologetic about my experience, and reassured me that this should not have happened. He ended up taking care of me as a client and restored complete faith in this dealer. He's a fair man, and seemed extremely eager to remedy the situation. It was completely unexpected, but greatly appreciated. I dropped my car off this morning and got a loaner, just like I'm used to. They took care of ALL of my issues quickly and even got in touch with MINI USA to remedy them all. I'm honestly thrilled and very glad I waited and let John remedy the situation. The car is great the sales staff is pretty good but the service is horrible. Just horrible. I bought a 2011 Mini Cooper S convertible back in late November and wanted to add a few accessories: an iPod connector, driving lights and tinted windows. The iPod connector was a no go but only after they tried to install it. Something about the newer models having fiber optics. Driving lights required a different grill. It was on backorder. Timed windows were installed but on inspection (which was only done because they left the back window completely smudged inside) I noticed a 2 inch scratch. The grill finally shows up for them to install the lights. I take the car there. I ask them to also fix the scratch in the tinting. They agree. They give me a loaner car. Smoke starts rolling out when I pulled into my driveway. They pick it up and replace it. The interior toggle switch for the light is the wrong one. It takes another day for them to get it in. It doesn't show up. Finally they call around noon the third day and tell me the car is ready. Someone brings it to me and picks the loaner up. I notice the scratch has not been repaired. I test the new lights out and discover, much like the service department, that they don't work. Very, very bad start to a new purchase. read more

Amazing experience all around! My current lease is up in about a month so we've been researching and looking at a few different cars the past few weeks. I went solo to D&R last Saturday to test drive the Countryman S ALL4 and was very clear up front it was only to keep it as an option or rule it out but that I would not be purchasing anything that day. After a fantastic test drive with John Park, he gave me only the basic numbers I requested and his contact info. ZERO PRESSURE! He let me know that if the Mini were to remain "in the running" to just text him to let him know and he'd see what he could get done throughout the week via text so we wouldn't be at the dealership for hours on a weekend (something nobody wants! Haha!). My husband went in on Thursday to test drive it as well and gather a few more figures. He had a great experience as well and said he felt zero pressure from anyone there. We decided it was the car and dealership for us and went in today to pick it up! John was (again) as fantastic as could be! Super friendly, helpful, honest, no BS, and no pressure from him or anyone there. We met with Jim Barth to finalize deal, and last but not least, a stop in Kevin Lawton's office to make the papers all official! All three were a pleasure to work with! I recently bought my silver Mazda3 from Dreyer and Reinbold and can't say enough great things about this place! From the second my husband and I walked on the lot we were greeted by Kerry Knight, who also ended up helping us purchase the car as well. I found the specific vehicle online and even though they were closing he walked us back into the shop to look at the car, because it still needed to be detailed, and we were able to see the vehicle right away instead of having to come back on another day. I own a 2008 Mini Clubman. I have brought my Mini to Dryer multiple times for service, but will never go back. Cost of repairs are always significantly more than other repair places. Also, you have a inspection/diagnosis fees on any thing they do. Fees they will not waive even if you do the hundreds of dollars of work they recommend. You hear the phrase " We are the only Mini Dealer in Indiana". A previous service would have had close to $300 in inspection fees had I not talked to service manager and to get them waived. The last service experience was for a rattle in the back end that Mini recommended a heat shield be replaced for over $500. I declined and took it a local location that fixed it for free with a few washers. Not only will I not be back, but not sure I will buy another Mini from "the only Mini dealer in Indiana". read more

I recently bought a new mini from Dreyer and Reinhold and I have to say, I love the car and my experience could not have been better. They were very knowledgable and excited about their cars, found me the car that I wanted and it was delivered in a timely manner. I inadvertently ordered leatherette seats and when unhappy with them, they connected me with a company that changed them out for leather. My salesman Marc Rococo was super and followed up after my mini education (for my quite unsavy self), and provided a second visit for any questions. I was incredibly disappointed. I love my mini but it has had major issues since I got it slightly used. I took it into the dealership and they ignored everything I said. I finally had to have my father talk to them because they treated me as if I am just a dumb woman who knows nothing about cars. This was my first MINI but I have been working on cars with my father my whole life. They had my car for a week and accomplished none of the repairs that I brought it in for except an oil change. The things that were supposed to be covered by warranty were magically not showing up for them and they came up with extra things that were wrong that were out of pocket. If you are a woman in particular, do not let them rip you off! read more

If I could go lower than one star, I would. I followed the owner's manual of my 2007 Mini, sold originally by Dreyer & Reinboldt, to the letter and the car overheated. At first, they were helpful assuring me since it was under warranty according to mileage and manufacture date, they would "take care of it". Then they wanted about $700 to attend to the valves so they could "do our part". After having my car five months, they determined I had "abused" the Mini I loved so much, I should pay them the $700 and take the inoperable car, or they would fix it for $10,000.00. Unbelievable. I would avoid Dreyer & Reinboldt no matter what it took! I am a retired Army Officer and a medical professional and I have seldom ran into such behavior as they exhibited! read more

When we moved here a few years ago I took my mini in for service, I felt like they would take care of the service. But they were 3 hours late and we had to make two extra trips since they didn't call to let us know. The cost was nearly double what we were quoted. After complaining to the main office, my husband the lawyer received a refund for part of the bill. They do have a nice selection of cars but their service department is baaaaaaaaaad news. read more

This has, hands down, been the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I purchased a Mini because I was told they treat their customers well...that couldn't be further from the truth. I popped a tire and had to take my car in for service. Because there is no spare tire, I had to wait 2.5 hours for a tow truck to come get my car. After my car was serviced, I picked it up and noticed scratches on the door. When my husband called and told Alex, the service manager, we were told "sorry, mini's paint scratches easily." Two days later, the low tire light came on... I called the dealer to see what I should do. I was told it was probably fine and that it was just the change in the weather. A few hours later, my tire was completely flat and AGAIN had to wait for a tow. I again addressed the scratches on my car and was basically told "too bad." I filled out a survey and indicated that I would like someone to contact me regarding the poor service. I never heard from the general manager. I finally took it to corporate and have spoke to them 5 times - I am told, "we will contact dreyer & reinbold" and ask them to resolve this for you. I then hear nothing back from either corporate or Dreyer & Reinbold. I'm fed up and close to taking them to Small Claims Court for damaging my car. I would NOT recommend purchasing a car from this dealership. It will cause you more frustration than any car is worth. read more
