Tried to fix it and somehow made it worse by messing up the screen and man, I've done my fair share of taking computers apart before but I wasn't going to mess with my laptop after this series of unfortunate events. I reached out to a couple of repair guys for a quote and Eric gave me the best one AND the hope that my laptop could be saved (I had a couple others tell me it wasn't worth the fix; mind you, my computer itself worked fine still - I just had to plug in an external monitor to get anything productive done). He was timely with messages, and even let me know that some parts were missing for repair and ordered it for me. His quote was reasonable in comparison to the cost of a brand new laptop and now that I've had it back for a couple weeks; I can honestly say it feels brand new.
