So I did a walk in today with my daughter and it was not the best experience. To begin with the girl burnt my scalp so bad with scorching hot water, I'm still in pain from the burn. The blow out was nice but she continued to burn my head and my ears. My daughter's blow out was just ok and the girl was not the nicest. She told her hair was dry and dead. As much as I want to love this DryBar, I just can't. They are always so obsessed with themselves and talking/gossiping loudly....it is not a calming visit, ever. I pre-paid for the 10 pack of blow- outs for my 15 year old daughter. However, every single time there is an "up-charge" although she comes in washed and all they do is blow and curl. Approximately 55 minutes later this is the finished product- $75 charge (although there was no mention of the price or upcharges prior). I have been coming to this salon for blowouts for years. They do a great job EXCEPT the stylists tend to consistently run about 15 min behind (except for Teidra who is pretty much always on time). Both receptionists are friendly, sometimes the stylists can have a little attitude, but not enough for me to quit going. The biggest issue for me is the lack of communication around wait time, when everyone in the salon is clearly visible so it's easy to discern how long it should be until they can get to you. read more

If I can rate this place in the negative ... I would. Had an appointment booked with Tayjuana for a simple wash and style and I even showed her the exact style but this was the worst service ever! The place looks amazing so you would think they hire stylists who care for client service but NO! It was a morning appointment before a very important work shoot and I walk in... don't get greeted, so I'm like it's ok she prolly having a bad morning it happens. But then it's not one word the entire service and terrible energy the entire time. I literally showed a pic of what I wanted and that was not it at all not to mention that wasn't even a hairstyle you should ever have a client walk out in. It was so half assed, my roots were still curly and not even straightened at places. my right side was wavy and my left side was straight and my top bangs had an entire spray bottle in it. And my extensions weren't blended at all. Like what?! I still paid cause I just wanted to leave but then my friend facetimes me as I'm waking out and is in shock and advises me to ask for my hair to be fixed. I go back to Tayjuana and ask her for a moment to talk about my hair she says "I don't have time" then points to another stylist and tells her "deal with that". This is just a nightmare at this point. The other stylist tried to fix my hair but there was so much hair spray in there that she had to pull on my hair so hard to get through it but she apologized for that so I'm not trippin on her. Tayjuana on the other hand is a complete nightmare. I'll never understand the concept of people working and you paying for that service only to deal with their attitude as if they're not getting paid or didn't make the choice to work that job! So, I was in Atlanta again and I remembered this place and how phenomenal it was so I went back and was not disappointed. I called after hours and left a message, and they texted me back with a time and followed up with me a couple of more times after that which was so nice. A get in and N'Dea is doing my hair (I hope I spelled her name right). She's so nice and she even dealt with my terrible hair that had hair stuff piled in it and hadn't been washed. She got my hair so clean and so soft. I really honestly felt like I looked down and looked back up and my hair was done. Not only was it fast, but it was perfection. I am shocked by how beautiful everyone's hair looked here. It's very difficult to do my hair, I understand that, but they act like my hair is the easiest in the world to do, that is how great they are. Worst experience! If I could put -1 stars I would. The manager was super rude and disrespectful to her own customers the minute we get in. The type of products used was cheap. I had a hair appointment and make up appointment at 9 am and I did not leave till 11:55 because they had all other customers who had an appointments after us go ahead of us which made us late to my own cousins wedding because of them. Although, I told the make up artist I had allergy to the makeup of Maybelline and NYX and I brought my own make up. She told me that her manager does not allow me to use it. And when I asked to not get my make up done, the manager said she will charge me regardless!!!! My skin broke out and my eyes were watery because of the type of cheap make up they used. I had to wash my face after the wedding and redo my own make up because of the horrible allergy. Finally they overcharged our card and charged it 3 times for the same amount. Went to DreamDry to have my hair blown out for a family event. The space was updated and clean, with good music and friendly staff. Coco (my hairstylist) listened to what I requested, asked questions to make sure she understood, and delivered exactly what I wanted. I had a wonderful experience with my first visit to DreamDry. I sought the salon out after having a few disappointing experiences with another blowout studio in the area. My stylist at DreamDry was friendly, consulted with me on styles and overall did a fantastic job. She washed my hair first, then blow dried it and curled it at the end, finishing with hair spray. meh! usually get blowouts and very happy! However, yesterday I went in to get braided up before the beach. Asked for it to be braided wet and super tight. Well it looked pretty when she finished. However, she nowhere made it close to tight, and in less than 24 hours the braid was loose, the hair was curling between the scalp and when the braid started. And I was really bummed!!! I wanted to go back and try to let her fix it, but the flight time would not allow!!!! Disappointed :( OH! And she didn't even put the rubber-bands tight enough at the end of the braids, woke up this morning to them gone and my braids coming undone! read more

And I found a another wonderful stylist who used rollers and knew how to work my hair so the volume and style would last all day. So to Mallory M I say: it's all in the way a stylist understands your hair and uses the available products and tools. I have loads of hair, but it is baby fine and requires both product and rollers.
