You couldn't pay someone $6 an hr to punch numbers into the spinny clothes conveyor belt? I'm going back to my polluting, eco-ruining, dirty, dingy dry cleaner who has never once closed... not even in the blizzard of '76.

At the appointment, I was a bit early, so I heard the tail-end of a gentlemen's appointment before me. He brought in a full suit to be tailored and they told him, without hesitation, that it could be done within that week. When it came to my appointment, the tone changed. After completing the quick mark-ups on the dress to see where the hemming needed to be, they acted as though two weeks was a rush! Perhaps it is, as I'm not a tailor myself, but it was a bit surprising after hearing the appointment before me. When concluding the appointment, they told me $80 cash only ($40 more than a 5 star rated tailor in Boston mind you, but perhaps this included a "rush" cost) and expected me to have a deposit. Is my deposit not the $250 dress you're holding? I think this policy needed to be a bit more clear. Also, in general, a business does not need to hold two assets to ensure payment at the completion of service, but maybe they have reason for doing so. I picked up the dress and inspected it, and saw a few hanging threads, as it looked a tad rushed (see picture). I'm not sure if it was because of it being considered a rush order, but I was a bit disappointed for the price paid. It was good enough for the wedding, so I chose not to complain. I'll give 4 stars kindly as they did complete service at the height of summer weddings and tailoring needs, but I'm not sure I'll be returning, unless in dire need!

Stafford Tailoring was able to take a piece from the bottom and place it near the zipper to let it out, as well as fix the shoulders. So it didn't hang weird. Also the bottom was cut and hemmed beautifully. It was only about $80 which was half the price if David's. They saved me, since there was no time to re-order the dreas , since it was a custom color. I have also brought lots of school uniform pants for my son and they were only $8 to hem, which was $2 less per garmet than the uniform company.

They had clearly altered the wrong part of the dress. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, she insisted that I had asked them to shorten it. Then she said maybe I had changed my mind, so that I didn't have to pay. Unbelievable! I was shocked. They ruined my dress and then blamed me for their error. I love supporting small businesses, but not ones that don't take responsibility or listen to their customers, and clearly don't know what they are doing.
