OK, i have just read their reviews, and I am stunned by the mediocre feedback. My husband and I have been to another cleaners for years while living in Newport. After a particularly upsetting incident right before a black tie, we decided to try another cleaner. I found Aquidneck Cleaners through a google search, while in the car, and I stopped by with a silk bolero jacket that I needed within 24hrs for a formal event. Not only did they say no problem, but there was a nominal 1.00 upcharge for rush, and there was a smile the entire time with "no worries, we will sit on this for you....." Not only did my darling jacket come back within 24hrs, but it was beautifully pressed, and the woman actually said, "i will wait til your husband arrives before i leave." They close at 3pm on Saturdays. The jacket came back into the store 2:45pm. Consequently, after the event, all the evening clothes went to them for cleaning and pressing. I told them how much I appreciated their conscientiousness, and their can do attitude. We have switched dry cleaners, and these people will now get our business every summer while we're in Newport. In 2017 or 2018 I dropped off a sweater here. They "lost" it but I was pretty sure at the time it was the young man behind the desk retaliating because I didn't want to keep talking to him. Fast forward to yesterday and they called my parents house where I haven't lived in three years to say they have my sweater. My mom went today and looked at it. The stain is still there and they did not clean it. The rude man who hit on me years ago still works there and he took money OUT of my elderly mothers hands. My husband or father will be in tomorrow to discuss this with the owner. However I'm sure the owner is aware their long time employee is rude and also unprofessional already so I am guessing this won't be resolved. Not only do they charge an expedited fee to get clothes back in 5 days (5days???!!!), but they took almost 4 weeks to repair a button hole on my jacket. Absolute joke. read more

The photo says it all. Curtains needed hemmed. The panels are not the same length. How can you mess up a simple Straight stitch? Just measure and sew. I was wary of bad reviews. Don't go there. read more

BEWARE: If you value your garments, do NOT send them here. Took 145.00 Tommy Bahama silk shirt with a stain and asked them if they can remove it, they said yes, forward 2 weeks and the shirt now had a hole (see pix). Owner states not their fault but said it did not have a hole when it was brought in, now its not wearable. No taking ownership of them making an error, coward owners, made clerk give me the info. Asked for 100.00 too buy another. Instead they offered 40.00 in credit ... why on earth would i go here again. I have been in Middletown 40 years and support locals, but not this time ... I took a cost in to have the buttons reinforced and a button sewn back on.there were a total of 6 buttons, which cost me $10. It took 3 days before it was ready and when I picked it up, and really didn't see much of a difference with the buttons. However, the customer service was satisfactory. It seems a but expensive to me and takes too much time to complete the work. So I think I will pass on a revisit. read more

IF there was a rating of Zero they would earn it! I sent three pair of wool trousers two came back okay, but third was ruined. They blamed it on me saying they got wet. (They were worn in the same conditions as the other two). End result I now have to replace a $200 pair of pants that had been cleaned at numerous other cleaner. Owner told me he would give (Store) credit (costing him nothing) but would not be responsible otherwise... I do not live in the area so will not be bak anytime soon. Beware if theres an issue with your clothes you are on your own! I asked him to share responsibility, and he said offering store credit was the best he could do. I brought in 3 pair of new, unworn slacks to be hemmed and one pair came back with markings all along the hem line. When I asked what the markings were, the employee falsely accused me of bringing in slacks that were stained. It was the same employee who took the slacks when I brought them in. He never called out markings when I brought them in because there weren't any markings. Worst cleaning service I have ever been to... lies to a customer. read more

THE WORST EVER. I rarely take the time to review but I felt compelled to for this horrendous experience, and terrible workmanship. I had a pair of shoes repaired here. The person behind the counter stated it would be about 3 weeks...well six weeks later, my shoes were finally ready. And, a three year-old could have done a better job. They were in worse shape when I picked them up than when I dropped them off. And the clerk was not helpful, was actually condescending.
