Had Joe mount an outdoor TV and install Sonos rock speakers outside. He promised: 1) The outdoor TV would be mounted to outdoor fireplace 2) It would be hard wired to the router for faster streaming 3) He would work with the landscape architect to bury all cables leading out to speakers and TV 4) He would purchase all equipment, albeit at a premium price to what I could shop it for @BestBuy, in addition to charging separately for his labor. I was not enamored by #4 knowing that I could buy an outdoor TV for $500 less and his reply was: "That's how I make my money"! Yea, assumed you made your money that's why you have your own business, but again I was paying additional labor to have it all installed. He is allegedly a home network specialist too. Yet when he couldn't get the TV hardwire to work, he quickly pointed fingers at AT&T. Well, it must be your router, because I tested my cables and they work. So he quickly brushed that problem onto me, the customer. How about a follow-up text after the job is complete? Nope! Last item, was the lack of coordination with the landscape architect. The speaker & his power wires were supposed to be buried alongside the electrical for the outdoor kitchen. This timing/coordination didn't happen and I the customer was told "well now we are going to have to conduit to the house and that's going to cost more labor". He even delivered the 30' of gray conduit and told me the customer to paint it brown to match the house. Nice touch, your mistake, make customer do it. How about, "sorry my mistake, I will paint those". He blamed it on the landscapers: "well looks like the buried those trenches faster then I thought". Uhh dude, I thought you were working with them so that wouldn't happen. He did not accept responsibility. As for the final project and delivery, his work was good enough. Eventually the landscape architect pressured him to paint the remaining conduit on the house. I think his kid did the painting of the silver conduit. The painting was ok, although he should have masked the house trim so not to get excess brown paint on the white trim. The TV and Speakers work well so the final product was a success. Warm & fuzzy he is not so as long as you are not expecting that for his higher-end price point, then you will be satisfied. read more

Joe solved a very complex problem that Sonos, Apple and Sony could not fix. After spending 13 hours of failed diagnostic troubleshooting and finger pointing from the three manufacturers, I contacted Dream Home Cinema and they methodically went through my entire system, identified the connectivity problem and fixed it! read more

Bit of a nickle and dimer, so beware! Had to constantly remind him of budget and his upfront estimate were not accurate forcing you to go over. Taking ownership of problems/mistakes are not his strong points. He does good enough work but be aware of some of the tactics at play. read more

One of the worst experiences ever with a purported professional installer!!! He was rude, obnoxious, pushy and beyond the pale. Our project manager was on site as well as other workers and no one could believe the way that this man conducted himself... he was yelling and screaming at me about no coaxial cable for Internet in a certain area of the house and when my project manager showed him that it was there he never said one word about "sorry I was wrong!" Save yourself the stress and trauma of dealing with Joe. read more

He has helped us for many years designing our computer system for our law office. He can help solve any computer problems and his service is unbeatable. He's here in a heartbeat and always knows how to do things efficiently and he is also very respectful of your personal property. We don't know how we would have survived without him. So thankful for Joe's service. When we moved into a new home, he installed our TV's/sound equipment, helped us find a new internet provider (the original provider had almost no service in our home), got our home network to finally work in every room, and set up a commercial printer (it never worked properly until Joe set it up correctly). He's also helped extend the longevity of an older laptop, and helped transition all my files to a new laptop. Working from home is so much easier, because Joe took the time to make the tech in my home work properly. And on top of it all, he is just the nicest guy. read more

Worst company ever - do not hire under any circumstance!!! I happen to see the owner of Dream Home Cinema/Computer at a local shop and asked for a business card. Joseph, the owner and as far as I can tell - the company's only employee, immediately rushed into an at-home estimate without taking the time to listen over the phone to what equipment/problems I had. Initially I thought that instilled confidence as he was willing to come out and get started immediately on any problem, little did I know it's part of his sucker pitch to get you on the hook. Once Joseph arrived, he was hurried and frustrated. It took him nearly two hours to hook up a Sony Playstation through an Onkyo receiver with Time Warner's latest high definition cable box. Joseph had to refer to every manual and still couldn't hook anything up on the first visit. He told us our playstation was missing a proprietary cable to make the gaming remote work - not true, it's a standard mini-USB - there is no Sony proprietary cable. After he still could not get things right on the second visit he had the nerve to tell us every component we had was broken - I'm not making this up - he actually went there. You are better off hiring anyone else...anyone, your local zit-faced teenage neighbor knows worlds more than this donkey! This owner/company is packing his plate too full - seemingly not taking time to keep up on his education and instead reading instruction manuals and learning as he goes on your dime. Conveniently up-selling you on the overpriced products he pushes. I don't usually take the time to write these reviews, but I paid Dream Home Cinema in cash to get a better deal and now the day after our service when nothing works as it did before, Joseph Markowitz, the owner of Dream Home Cinema would not honor a refund. Sleezy way to do business in a small town!!! By the way...Joseph also owns Dream Home Computer and after my husband probed him on a couple of trouble shooting ideas about a PC it was painfully obvious he didn't know much about computers either. read more

Joseph did a great job installing a big HD Smart TV, apple TV and fixed several other issues we had with networking in the house. Before he came out our signal was horrible and he managed to make our connection faster and gave us wifi reception in rooms where it never worked before. He worked very quickly, set up all the remotes, and also recommended certain equipment that he's had experience with. After that, I eferred him out to several people who also gave him good reviews. read more
