Today, I came in with concerns about some pain I've been experiencing. Dr. Herr took the time to truly listen, and his sensitivity and honesty helped put my mind at ease. As someone who's never even had a cavity, I was honestly anxious about the possibility of needing a crown. But Dr. Herr was open about his own experiences and reassured me that sometimes, despite our best efforts, things just happen. I left feeling completely comfortable and confident in the care I'm receiving. What truly sets this place apart is the personal touch. The ladies at the front desk remember everything--my pets, my career as a teacher, my daughter. It's more than just a dental appointment; it feels like visiting family. If you're looking for a team that truly cares, Auburn Dental Center is the place to go.

As a child! Allowing your children to NOT brush due to a gag reflex? I have one 2. Get a tongue scraper? Maybe show them not to RAM the to brush into the back of their throat. Not where the teeth are anyway. lol. Sorry. Just so ignorant of someone to leave something like that, and did you expect the dentist to give her a sticker for NOT brushing?? If you're a nervous/anxious type of person. Easy. Schedule some gas. Dr McCartel WILL make SURE you're comfortable and not in pain. I will say, he's not going to tickle your ego. That's NOT his job. He's going to tell you what his professional opinion is. Like it or not. He's right. Everything he says isn't wrapped in a bow, but it makes PERFECT sense & it's not the dentists job to make you feel good about your teeth. Especially if they're COVERED in plaque. He's also correct, Why clean the plaque off (causing bleeding gums & probably gum disease due to lack of brushing. The plaque will only continue to return!) He was just telling the mother & child the truth. The medical findings. We don't hafto like it... it's important to me that my dentists are capable, knowledgeable, experienced, and capable of completing the tasks needed. They can and WILL do this here. But they're not going to help you treat your teeth like crap. Wrong place for that. Also they do not take medical. A simple phone call prior to the appointment would've saved those people a trip. Why people don't call before they show up & ask the questions they need to ask BEFOREHAND is beyond me! These are my teeth after 6 months of back n forth at the BEST IN BAKERSFIELD for realllll!! (I do not mean Dr. K who handed my sister in law her crowns in a ziploc baggy & told her to "take em to the lab yourself & gave em fix what you don't like" lol I've been to him.. I was in the waiting room longer than his chair. THAT is a prick. I'm well versed. These Drs are NOT. Just hafto tell them what you need, they'll get it for you! I had AWFUL phobia of the dentist especially after my experience with the 1 that threw my sis in laws teeth in ziploc bag (Krause) all I know is I chose the RIGHT Dentistry for ME. I won't ever go anywhere else.

Her response to me before looking was not everyone can wear dentures I said my friends look nice and she said many people have to get implants because we can't make them fit right that scared me right away she continued telling me all the denture disasters that can happen! She said but I'll try this is our first appt without a full exam yet I was only 2 weeks out from teeth removal and was so excited about getting my dentures then I started feeling scared ! Now it's been almost 3 months no molds yet no dentures ! I called to have a filling on a bottom tooth I just had it done, I asked if I could get composit bonding on my only 5 teeth left to lighten and straighten those teeth so I could get light colored dentures she said no I don't do that because it doesn't last ! Only porcelain veneers will work , I had composit bonding on a gap between my front 2 teeth that lasted for over 30 years and they did not crack chip or stain I knew that wasn't true about bonding! Then I heard the assistant talking to the lady dentist about me in the next stall she asked her the plan and she said I only offered her porcelain veneers! Then she talked to me she said Doctors plan for you is porcelain veneers at 1,200 a tooth so $6,000 dollars I'm 63 I'm disabled on a fixed income it might as well have been $60,000 dollars I told her I can't afford that she said you only need to pay half today I don't have even Half I told her I can't afford it she was nice and tried to upscale me a bit but she had her orders from the dentist period. Now I'm scared since she started preparing me that many people can't wear dentures they have to get implants before examining my whole mouth ! That alarmed me to because when I finally get my molds I'm scared she's going to say you're not a candidate for dentures like I told you on your 1st appt! If that happens I will be toothless except for the 5 on bottom ! I just had a filling from the dentist and she told me we just checked about your approval today and she told me the same thing 2 mo ago and they never called me back and she again said if you don't hear from the girls in 2 weeks you call us ! Are they really calling insurance or whomever these last almost 3mo ?? Because no one is calling me I have to call they hadn't hear anything new in 2 months did they try ? I don't know because I have to do the calling to them were out almost 3 months did I don't have any end in site and now I'm afraid they are going to be mad at me for leaving this honest review! I just want my molds and people who care enough to check what is taking so long so I can get dentures. I'm sad scared and embarrassed also emotional because she was so negative about dentures on my 1st appt before looking at my records or doing the full mouth exam. I don't like negative reviews but this is taking so long with zero communication to me I have to contact! And almost 3mo with no end in sight yet and I don't want to be hard sell for implants when dentures are all I can afford and my friend got pretty reg dentures there she may have had another dentist there it has been a while, my hope is a happy ending so I can smile and eat with my family and go places in reg life. I didn't write this to be mean it's a honest review! THIS IS RE THE CALI DENTAL ON NILES BAKERSFIELD CA !!!

It honestly left me feeling overwhelmed. A staff from my kids' preschool recommended Hacienda Kidz Dental, and the experience was the complete opposite. The office was very clean and had a calm, relaxed environment. The ladies at the front desk were incredibly sweet and helpful from the moment we walked in. When they called my kids back, I went with them and was really impressed by how clean and organized everything was. The staff was wonderful with the kids and made all four of mine feel comfortable right away. The dentist was a young, energetic guy who you could tell genuinely cares about working with kids. What I really appreciated was how he leveled with my kids. He spoke to them in a way they understood and made them feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. They trusted him right away, which made the whole visit so much smoother. He was also very informative and took the time to explain things without making it feel like a sales pitch. For the first time at a dental office, I truly felt like they cared about my kids and their dental health , not just about making money off our visit. I'm so glad we found this place and would definitely recommend it to other parents!

I had my first appointment the day that Dr Joshi Bhaskar had his last day (He was retiring)…read moreHe was a very friendly dentist, His staff though is amazingly kind and helpful! But in all honesty, my time with Dr Bhaskar felt a little rushed. The office and equipment looked a little out dated compared to the dentist that I am currently being treated at. And the building and it's location itself is a little sketchy looking. So I originally came for root canals and crowns, (I had went to Roc Doc Dentist first, turns out they didn't accept my primary insurance, so I had to pick another dentist that did and under my insurance plan, there weren't too many dentists that accepted my insurance and that had good ratings, but Dr Joshi Bhaskar did have good reviews on both google and yelp, so I decided on him.) Got my X-rays done, saw the Dr and he tells me that I need two root canals and two crowns, a little alarming, considering at ROC DOC they told me I needed 4 root canals and 4 crowns plus a couple of gumline cavities that you can clearly see.... So hearing Dr Bhaskar say I only needed two root canals and crowns concerned me a bit... He didn't even mention anything about my cavities, until I pointed them out! (and this was after he looked my my mouth! and the cavities are pretty visible! another red flag.) then it turns out they don't even do root canals there, and they had to refer me to another dentist office (millennium dental I believe) of course they had horrible reviews and I didn't feel very comfortable going there for such serious work after reading the reviews, so after several phone calls with the receptionist at Dr Bhaskar's office, she tried to find me another dentist that I could be referred to that had good reviews, eventually we did, and I was then referred to Dentist of Bakersfield (Where I am still currently at, they actually had decent reviews, not excellent, but I like them. check out my review for them too! lol) So the plan was to get my root canals done at Dentist of Bakersfield, then get my crowns and cavities done at Dr Bhaskar's office. So when I first went to Dentist of Bakersfield, they did their X-Rays and yes, it was re-confirmed, I had needed 4 root canals and 4 crowns, not 2 like Dr Bhaskar said. So I get the first half of my root canals done. scheduled the other two for a few months out because I didn't need them done right away like the other half. I call Dr Bhaskar's office back to schedule my appointment for the crowns and cavities, NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN, they are having problems with my insurance, basically they didn't accept it anymore, just in that little short 2 month period of time, since the new Dr took over (Dr Jay Patel) He was having issues, all I know was that He was trying to add my insurance to the list of insurances that he accepted, but couldn't, (you would think he would have had all this straighten away before starting the job, since he knew what day Bhaskar was leaving and when he was starting) anyways, at first the receptionist told me that they plan on having the issues straightened out within a month and a half and to call back then, well I had just gotten two root canals and I couldn't wait that long to get the crowns put on, so I had to stay at Dentist of Bakersfield and get my crowns done there... fast forward a month and a half, I call back again, and they still hadn't sorted out the issue, then I was told that It didn't look like the issue was going to be sorted out at all in the foreseeable future,... the reason why I was trying to go back there was because not only did Dr Bhaskar's office accept my primary insurance, they also accepted my 2nd insurance too, meaning the work I was getting done would have been A LOT cheaper because whatever my primary insurance didn't fully cover, my 2nd insurance would pick up and cover (Dr Bhaskar's office and millennium dental were the ONLY two dentist that accepted both of my insurances !! Dentist of Bakersfield only accepted my primary insurance) so It ended up being a lot more costly than I would have liked. Plus, I forgot to mention that I did briefly meet Dr Jay Patel at my first original appointment, the day Dr Bhaskar was retiring, DR Bhaskar introduced me to him saying " this is going to be your new dentist, since I am retiring" I look up over at Dr Jay Patel, and no joke, he's sitting in a chair behind the receptionist desk, slouched over, halfway leaning on the desk with his hand under his chin, with the most tired look on his face, like he just work up from a nap, he gives me a lazy half smile and slightly nods, didn't get up or introduce himself, never said a word, didn't even perk up, just sat there like that, it was weird.) Maybe it was a blessing in disguise? Maybe, just maybe I wasn't supposed to get all this extensive work done here? maybe I would have regretted it? IDK. But as you can see, all the reviews are pretty outdated here. I wouldn't recommend this place.
