We were in corespondence with Kelly who was helpful in getting us the package we needed. We also got a 10 percent discount from Yelp! Kelly was our point person and helped coordinate our timeline. She also was the laision with the band. Before the party, I sent her the script and timeline. On the day of the party, the band showed up to set up at 10a for our 11a party. They said they thought they started at 1030a. I said they started at 11:30 a.m. Kelly (Balloon artist) and face painter came onsite at just about 11a. One major disappointment I had was that the MC refused to facilitate our script. We thought it was farily light and simple, including directions to the bathroom, where the rubbish is, then calling up various people to help facilitate the program and games. Luckily, my sister in law stepped in and did the MCing. The quality of the balloons was excellent, as well as the face painting. The live band was REALLY good, loud, and brought excellent energy to the party. Everyone complimented us on the entertainment. Eddie, the band leader, brought us a screen and projector for our slideshow. It went off without a hitch. The band continued to play until after most of our guests left. Unfortunately when they took their break, most of our guests started leaving. In hindsight, I would have everyone sang happy birthday a little later so people stuck around to hear their second set. Also, I asked the face painter if we could make announcement that they would be closing in 15 minutes and she said no because people will line up for their face painting/balloon. I thought that was the point. But, oh well. Maybe people luckily got their face painted and balloon early. Overall, it was a little disorganized, but it came together and was a nice party.

A recent update to my last review last year - still FIVE STARS!…read more Their website is easy to navigate to find the menu of options based on balloon sculpture art, face painting and their hourly prices or packages. When booking online I always get a response within the day either confirming or letting me know they are already booked. I really appreciate that! We just hosted a birthday party for my 4 year old granddaughter and 60 guests and were happy to have balloon artist Gideon return! Gideon is always on time, comes 20-30 min ahead of time to set up, brings his own extension cord for outlet, and is prepared with all tools, supplies and signage. He has a nice picture board showing all the designs both classic and new that may appeal to your guests, young and old alike! This year the popular item was a balloon purse holding a puppy! But he also did some beautiful large Unicorns, cute backpacks, swords, and I saw many other colorful creations! We reserved him for two hours and he sculpted about 50-60 art within that time frame. The prices are so reasonable and you really get the best bang for your buck because he is always the WOW of the party! Gideon is VERY professional, dresses nice, easy set up and is patient with the children. Their entire family is involved in this business so no matter which artist comes to your party, you will be thrilled and so will your guests! Mahalo to Gideon, Jimmie and Amber for many years of having our corporate guests, public event attendees and now our personal parties be amazing! See you for granddaughter's 5th next year and a new grandson his 2nd!

NOW, THIS IS TALENT!…read more WOW!! After seeing the creativity and talent from Adventure Balloons, you can't help but feel a little jipped by other entertainers... those clowns. Hahaha, jk! Seriously tho, I'm not trying to be mean, but MAN! Those other companies don't even compare. My brother and I were in absolute awe at my nephew's 1st birthday party this past Saturday. Adventure Balloons definitely made the party! I'd say the only thing that rivaled them was the spectacular view... because OMG, I was melting! Oahu Country Club is GORGEOUS!!!! Once everyone saw the first intricate balloon design, the kids AND adults were lining up to get their hands on one! I even saw one of the moms walking past my table with a full on ladybug outfit. Like... this ain't no ordinary clown show, y'all! I swear, if I could've thought of a character or design I loved on the spot, I would've asked them to make one for ME! Unfortunately, I didn't get the best pictures of my nephew's balloons because these dudes cannot stay still. They're 3 & 5 - you go ahead and try telling them to stay still! Lol -- the person making the balloons was so friendly, playful, and patient btw. We were chatting with him while he was hard at work. Stellar job, Jimmie! (I think that was you haha) The Luigi w/mushroom and Pikachu were SO cute! The creativity, detail, and precision that went into these designs were seriously impressive. Highly recommend Adventure Balloons for your next family party! Trust me - the kids will LOVE them, and honestly, the adults will be just as entertained watching what they create! 10/10 creativity & definitely a highlight of the party!

Prior to that, I've only…read moreseen and interacted with Storybook Entertainment characters performing at various events on the island (examples: Christmas events at Royal Hawaiian Center, events at Wet N Wild, etc). There are 2 physical locations - Pearlridge and Windward Mall. My child's birthday was coming up, so I booked BOTH locations for a "Stay and Play" session. You can either call or book online for a session. A "Stay and Play" session starts off with choosing a costume. There are many options to choose from - unicorn, princess, mermaid, cheerleader, etc. After changing, your child is whisked off for a makeover which includes nail painting and face painting. How fun! Kids can have a little tea party with the Storybook staff (who are also dressed up), dance to the music, and/or have a photoshoot with the props. Although both locations have different props, they are both magical in their own right. I mean, check out my pictures. The colors, the lighting ... everything just adds to the ambiance and makes a very unique and unforgettable experience for the little ones. You won't regret bringing your kid(s) here. Note: Windward Mall is the original location. I uploaded 23 pictures, however, sometimes Yelp cuts me off with a max of 10 that are attached to my review.

We went to the Aiea location. Booking was easy and the worker I spoke with was accommodating and flexible. They were able to fit our youngest and oldest guests, 1yo and 13yo respectively, into the mix without compromising price and service. And when my child showed changes in who her favorite characters were, I called and making modifications was easy! It was so nice just being able show up and enjoy the party. I didn't have to plan or order or set up or break down. LOVELY. I did bring our own goodie bags to pass out in addition to the goodie bags that were included only because we did a non-food event and so I wanted to be extra and send our guests off with a tea party to-go. The event went wonderfully. So much so that I wanted to cry happy tears at how much my kiddo (and all the kiddos) we're enjoying themselves. We did add-on a visit from Rapunzel, which was our kiddo's favorite part. She relished in all the attention Rapunzel gave her. The makeover was so good! Better than overpriced face painting at Disneyland. You actually get what you're paying for. The kids were over the moon at getting fancied up and playing with the characters. The littles are still very much believers in the magic so being able to play with a fairy and learn that a mermaid used magic to have her legs for the party was nothing short of magical. If you're child is heavy into the magic, Storybook does not disappoint. The window into a toddler/young child's world is so short. This service is worth the cost.

As a girl mom let me just rejoice and say that my daughter and I are so happy to have another location open up closer to home often frequenting the Winward location. My 3 year old is now very much in her mermaid princess era & loves getting face painting, glitter tattoos, and her nails done. The makeovers available here make her so happy. The first time daddy took her upon finding it in the mall for the first time and did an express makeover which is a quick walk in makeover. The second time I took her on walk in and it was a special moment as the mermaid who did her makeover happened to be in costume as her character mascot for her first birthday and remembered her by pictures. It was a sweet moment for all of us. This time we decided to reserve an actual package and did not regret it as spots filled up quickly after the new year. You pay half when you reserve your spot which can be done through their website and the other half after your appointment. The Mermaid squad staff was excellent and did well trading off and switching back and forth between the little princesses. It was organized, managed well and always with friendly sweet smiles that only mermaids can give princesses can. Despite that there being only two of them they both did a great job. The package included choosing an outfit to borrow for the session whether you wanted to have a mermaid be part of your world or save the day as a superhero to becoming a beautiful princess attending a royal ball it was definitely worth it with the beautiful photo backdrops and display and after the makeover, it was time to play! The smile on my daughter's face was priceless. Making friends there too was a bonus. We will return very soon making sure to reserve the appointment to allow her to have more fun time on her next visit! Be sure to check out their website as they are great for birthday parties as well both in their location as well as coming to yours for your event!!
