We attended a 5-year-old's birthday party and the balloon twisting was incredibly sophisticated, detailed, and impressive. The huge spider and the Little Mermaid were my favorite creations. Even more fun than the outrageous balloons designs may have been the colorful airbrush tattoos. They sprayed on very quickly so there was never a big line. There were over 50 designs to choose from, and my son got four tattoos, including a flaming basketball on his cheek and a sun on his arm. I got a firefly on my arm, which made me look like a real badass. read more

I must say Sideshow Events was awesome in both talent and speed. Daniel was our guy for the community event we had and his balloon designs were just awe-mazing! The photos I posted were just the tip of the iceberg as they only snapshot just a few of his creations that inspired me to stop people to take a picture. He was fast which was great because the lines didn't build up. He was also very personable, which makes for a bonus when it comes to those things because they need to be socially adept! I will definitely keep Sideshow Events as our main when it comes to Balloon Artistry at its finest. They are so well worth the money! read more

This is probably the first review of its kind on Yelp, but for parents & others who are planning parties and want a balloon artist, look no further than Jimmie from AdventureBalloons. Some friends recently hired Jimmie for their son's 2nd birthday party, and everyone in attendance was enthralled by the balloon hats, animals, backpacks, and costumes that Jimmie kept himself busy making. The balloon Elmo bore a striking resemblance to the real Elmo, as did the Dora the Explorer and Pooh Bear. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't able (or perhaps interested) in doing a sea otter or sheep (these being my two favorite mammals) but he did make me a very cool backpack-type sculpture. See photos! Of course, I write all this without knowing how much he charges to come to a party, but I'm sure that it was worth every penny that my friends spent. [edit: ok, just checked. this isn't the first review of its kind on yelp. darn!] read more

I found sideshow events through yelp and selected it based on the excellent reviews. Thanks fellow yelpers! AMAZING! We threw a superhero party for our seven year-old and hired Daniel as our balloon artist. He captured the attention of all the children for 1.5 hours and made unbelievable balloon creations. Daniel's handle on super hero characters was impressive. He was also good at pretty much anything--his fairies and princesses were beautiful. Every child was ecstatic. We also hired Rene, a cartoon artist, to draw family portraits in superhero outfits as party favors. We looooved the portraits. Some have posted their portraits on Facebook. Most of us will frame the portraits and hang them in our family room. It kicked up the party a notch. As the kids were busy with balloons, the adults watched Rene draw and commented on the details of his drawings and how he captured the likeness of each guest. Our minds were blown. We extended his time twice. It's a lot of work for Rene to draw all the families so expect him to be at your party for a while. Also, although the attire is a small detail, we appreciated Rene showing up in an artist outfit with a beret and vest. It was a nice touch. Thanks Daniel and Rene for making the party a memorable event. read more

Called a few days before my sons' joint birthday party and they were able to fit us in their already busy schedule! Actually came a little earlier than expected, but that was fine with me! Thank you guys so much for coming on such short notice! It was Daniel that came again this year and he was awesome! Very friendly and great with the stress of all the kids (and adults) that wanted something! You guys will always be our go-to for balloon art! read more

for all your party needs specifically balloon and airbush they folks are awesome!!! they are excellent with kids, not a tear in sight, even after your kids pop their swords for the 9th time, they happily make them another even fancier then their first. They also have alot of choices with the airbrush tattoos. if they dont have what your looking for, you can request freehand mostly adults ask for the freehand option face tats hell yeah!!! tribal on ur face in pink why not, sadly since my skin is a tad darker they had to cover the pink with black it actually look legit the pink kinda meshed with a red tone making the black pop more making it look like a freshly done tattoo, kudos for these guys. all smiles, easy to talk to, balloon skills beyond excellent, honestly i think the parents may have had more fun then kids ahha I definitely recommend these folks to do any kid party price $$ depends on what you get/package service ***** excellent in every way read more

If you're ever looking for a great balloon artist then this is the place to check out. We were eating at Applebee's and noticed that there was an artist going around making balloons for all the little kids. Some of the balloons that I started to see were amazing. I noticed a basket full of flowers, a race car, and a gigantic spider attached to a little boy's shoulders and hovering over his head. As Jimmie came closer I noticed that he was from AB's. I had booked them once before for one of my company's Halloween party. I then knew we were in good hands. My daughter didn't really know what she wanted. Jimmie suggested a crown, a princess, and a flower. All she did was nod no. Then he finally figured out that she didn't want anything girly, so he suggested a dragon. She agreed to it right away. As Jimmie was making the dragon, my daughter pulled me aside and said this dragon is like you mommy. How sweet is that? I'm a dragon in the Chinese zodiac sign. She was very pleased once Jimmie was done. He didn't ask for any money, but I gave him a couple of dollars anyway for the great job that he did with the balloons and with the big smile on my daughters face. read more

Sideshow events is awesome! Totally made my sons first birthday! The kids where amazed and entertained! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to entertain and liven up their event. AWESOME!!! From booking the artists to their arrival setup to time with the kids. It was a huge hit. The balloon artist was really great. The kids LOVED LOVED LOVED him. I would gladly hire them again. Showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves and were very pleasant to work with. Would highly recommend. ~25 4 year olds, we had a balloon and airbrush artist for 1 hour. read more

I can't rave ENOUGH about their services. I hired them a few years ago for airbrush tattoos at my son's birthday in Montclair park and was too lazy to right a well deserving 5-star review. So here I am now, 2 years later writing a review for my other son's birthday party at Ohgane in Oakland where Gideon and his team KILLED it. Everyone left in awe of his balloon twisting skills. He made things we didn't even know were possible. He's a genius and all of the parents at the party asked for their info. Worth every penny and will hire them again. read more

i planned a company holiday party a few years ago, and i wanted something to keep the kids entertained. i found this guy on a party entertainer website. they were extremely flexible with their timing, it was a mid-afternoon time slot. i was very happy with the things he made for the kids. he did a bunch of holiday-themed hats, like reindeer horns. he made a lot of huge items, such as cars that fit two people. i would definitely recommend him to others looking for a party entertainer, the kids loved the things he made for them. swords, backpacks, dogs, etc, they were all very impressive. read more

We booked Sideshow Events & Adventure Balloons for my daughter's 2nd birthday party. Daniel came and did THE BEST job. I can't say enough great things about him and his balloons. Hiring Daniel was the best move I could've made. I absolutely recommend Sideshow Events & Adventure Balloons. read more

They literally can create anything you (or kids) can think of! Amazing service and pretty much the hit of every party we have them at!!

I booked Elaina for my daughter's & nephews 5th Birthday party just this past weekend. It was a last minute booking but it was the BEST party decision I made. She was prompt in replying back and her prices were very reasonable. Elaina was a HUGE hit, not just with the kids but with the adults as well! She made AMAZING balloon art: from making the birthday girl fairy wings, crown, skirt, and wand to another mind blowing LARGE orange octopus complete with white eyes, black spots body and tentacles. There wasn't anything Elaina couldn't make. If a child requested a character she wasn't familiar with all they had to do was show her a picture on an iPhone and Viola! She has an amazing ability to translate 2-D images into 3-D art using balloons and it was all VERY impressive. Elaina also had a wonderful way with the kids. she's spunky, patient, and very animated with them. It was an amazing sight to behold how she enraptured 20 kids watching her every move as she created these adorable big and little figures. Her energy fed off the kids and the kids responded to her with wonder and amazement. The kids spent more time gathered around her tin the two hours she was at the party than in the bounce house! If you ever watch Elaina in action you will notice she pays attention to details - no details are insignificant. She made a Cinderella balloon doll complete with face, hairband, white puff sleeves and GLASS SLIPPERS (clear white balloons). Every little detail is special and unique - and you see the effect on the children's faces. Would I book Elaina gain? ABSOLUTELY! Monique & Marty S., Santa Clara CA read more

The customer service of the staff was Amazing. Daniel was very friendly and the kids loved him. My son was transformed into a TMNT along with his friends. I definitely recommend them for any event. Adventure balloons was a major hit at our Son's first birthday party. Jimmie's balloons are just so artistic. They are not the usual run of the mill kiddie stuff. He made a spider attached to a kid and everyone's jaw dropped. His Princess, Dora, Dragonfly, Spider, price peter were all just so amazing. I had asked Jimmie for a Monkey for my son when he was free and he made my son a Palm tree with a base and a monkey hanging from it. It was about 4 feet tall! All the parents at my party were awe struck and commented about how they had never seen such nice balloon art. The kid's at my son's party had a ball and couldn't get enough of Jimmie's balloons. read more

Having a party for your child requires much planning and time especially if it's a party you want them to remember. But not having to worry about the entertainment is something any parent can appreciate. Side Show Events did just that. We had a balloon artist, a magician, and a photo booth that kept kids and adults entertained throughout the evening. I can't thank Gideon and his team for taking on this daunting task. It was a great success and everyone enjoyed it. To have a one stop shop that took care all of my needs was just phenomenal. Also the pricing and the services provided were absolutely amazing. They have so many options and entertainment choices that it has made me a lifelong customer for all of my future events and they are always my company of choice I highly recommend to others. I booked a one-and-a-half-hour package of balloon twisting and airbrush tattoo for my son's 5th birthday party. This was a large event with about 60 people, children ranging from infant to high school ages. The entertainment was set up with Gideon over the phone. He was prompt and professional. He called to confirm 2 days before the party. We had Daniel, and her sister Jessica come to our party. They came right on time to set up and let the fun begin. And great fun it was! Daniel amazed children and grownups alike with his balloon art. He made full, wearable costumes out of his balloons to everybody's delight. One my favorite of his creations was a Captain America outfit with a bow, a quiver bag complete with arrows to be worn over the shoulder, and a round shield. He created so many different designs, that it would take too long to list them all. Let's just say, everybody was blown away by his talent and kind demeanor. Everybody was also asking: where did you find him? Answer: here on Yelp!:) Now, onto his sister, Jessica, who just kept spraying beautiful, colorful airbrush tattoos on everyone from infants to grandparents (yes, you read that right, one of the grandmas got one too!). She did so with grace and a smile on her face the whole time. The adult ladies in the party could not stop getting back in line for "just one more" design. We had a wonderful time having them at our party! This morning I got a phone call from one of our adult guests, who told me, this was the best kids' birthday party she ever attended. Need I say more? Thank you Gideon, Daniel, and Jessica, thank you Sideshow events! read more
