I have used this vendor many times for multiple properties. Their prices are FAR less than exactly the same roman shades (same fabric, same company) than Costco (boy, wasn't worth paying for membership to get blinds there, I'll tell you). On another property, I thought we needed new blinds (after many years and lots of kids involved), and they said no, we'll just clean them and rehang them for you. Saved me a ton of money. Their service is fabulous, the products are great, and they are totally honest. Highly recommended. read more

we have a houseful of Hunter-Douglas Vinyl Shutters from the previous owner. (we believe the prior owner purchased them from Draperies 'n' Things, because they are only a few miles away) We recently called Draperies 'n' Things because a part (poor design) that holds the lifting cords, came apart. Tech came out and spent 5 minutes to find OUR part and put the blind back in service. Despite a life-time guarantee from Hunter-Douglas, tech charged a $95.00 'service charge' , then ASKED FOR A TIP !!!. A couple of days ago one of the Hunter Douglas blinds in my family room broke. This blind was at least 10-15 years old and was in the house when I moved in. Brian came out at nine o'clock this morning and returned at 10:30 with the blind good as new! The price was the service call which I knew about before hand. I purchased a "blackout" shade as I was working nights and needed darkness during the day. I was sold a non blackout shade and had it replaced. The mechanism broke and it was covered under warranty. I brought to them to reduce the time for repair...but then I was quoted 5 weeks for a simple mechanical repair. I called and was told "someone was sick" and that's why it would be close/over 5 weeks for a something I dismantled, took to them and waited for a repair. I'm sorry, but this is not how local business should operate. So they made everything right and I got my (under warranty) replacement. I had a blind that needed to be repaired due to an animal damaging it. I called around to a few places who do blinds, but this business was the only one to return my call and they returned it within 25 minutes! I was eventually able to drop it off and had it perfectly repaired within 6 weeks!!! Very grateful for their great customer service and repair. I will be doing business with them again. read more

We adorned out new home with Hunter Douglas Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds. Very lovely product. Spent thousands of dollars. The large sliding glass door blinds have malfunctioned repeatedly. The positive, and the reason for a 3 star review rather than a 1 star, is the willingness of Draperies N Things to come out and fix defects. Tonight, for the fourth time, while carefully raising one of our blinds, it popped out of the bracket and fell on my head. There are 3 different blinds in the house that have a propensity for pulling out with simple and gentle normal day to day operations. I don't know whether it is the crappy design of the brackets, or some other reason. What I do know is my cheap Home Depot self installed blinds have never popped out and banged me on the head. I will never purchase a Hunter Douglas product again. read more

I went into the store in Phoenix on Aug.27th, a Friday to set an appointment for a preliminary bid on 20 apartment units. They made an appointment for me on the following Thursday, at 2 PM. I showed up at the location 15 minutes early and waited 15 minutes past the appointment time. No one ever showed up, nor did I get a phone call. The location is about 1/4 mile from their office! If they can't even make it for a bid on what would have been a very lucrative contract, then I wouldn't want them anywhere near my rental units. read more

We used to get very good service from Draperies N Things, but now that the owner has retired it seems that everything has changed. We were extremely frustrated and disappointed with our last few interactions with them. We've had trouble making appointments for service calls for broken blinds under warranty, and even had trouble making an appointment for a sales call for new blinds. We felt that we were treated quite rudely, especially considering the business we had done with them over the years. We tried talking with the new owner, but couldn't get anywhere. Run far away and use anyone else. Trust me. We had used this business several years ago when a blind broke and I was so impressed by how fast Nathan was able to get us an appointment and he fixed the blind right away and the price was right. Fast forward several years to June when we were getting ready to move into a new house and needed blinds and shutters throughout. Nathan came and was excellent with walking us through all of our options and even went back and looked at other options to get us the best pricing. He was excellent and very patient. So you may be asking yourself, "Why only the one star?" When the blinds came in and Nathan came to install, he didn't have all of the parts he needed to finish the job, but we still paid him in full. I wanted to limit the number of times he had to come into our home due to Covid, so I was a little stressed already, and then he came back a second time and again didn't everything he needed so couldn't finish the job. Additionally, after he left, we realized that the jury-rigged way that he had installed the valances didn't allow us to open and close the blinds! He had also left after installing only one of the floor guides for our shutters, with no explanation as to why the other one was missing. After many phone calls with him and several excuses about why he was missing appointments, we gave up and called the owner who was, to his credit, very apologetic, said that Nathan no longer worked for the company and promised to make it right for us at no further charge. I was extremely pissed, but felt like things were looking up. I was wrong. I clearly explained to the owner and later to his daughter what exactly we needed. I did this several times and even sent pictures to illustrate. I did this because I wanted to make sure that the new guy would have everything he needed when he came to finish the job. When the owner's daughter called me to tell me our parts were in and schedule an appointment, I again went over all the things that needed to be done, to make doubly sure we were on the same page. A little while later I got a call back from the daughter saying that she had misunderstood what we needed and they would have to put in an order for new valances! I couldn't even believe that after so many conversations about our particular type of window casings and how the valances would need to work - that she would just now realize that we needed... valances. I truly wanted to be done with them at this point, but what choice did we have? So we waited again, through the holidays, for the new valances to arrive and finally today, in January (SEVEN months after we began this nuts journey), the guy arrived to finish the job. I would like to say that everything was fine today, but I can't even do that. The valances all match except for the dining room windows. For some reason they ordered a different style for those! It's driving me crazy to look at them, but I am done with these people so I guess I just have to learn to deal with it. Even the valances on all the other windows are not what I discussed with the owner and then again with his daughter on the phone. They are fine, but they are not great and they are not what we thought we were getting. I can't believe the lack of organization and lack of attention to detail throughout this process! On a positive note, they all wore shoe covers and N95 masks when I asked and they did clean up after themselves in my home. read more

The cord connecting and controlling my binds snapped. This could have been prohibitively expensive but Mini-Blinds and more does much more Quickly, expertly, and for a reasonable price. They were finished in one day! Don't be put off by the term mini-blind. It seems they repair any type of drapery. read more

It's been 2 years since I moved into my new home and the blinds were filthy, looked in the phone book and found D&T, well I got a fast appt. I have done business with this company two separate times in the past 4 years. Neither of the two different types of blinds work well now. One was installed crooked. They have been out twice & I was told someone would call me to set up a time to get them fixed, that has been at least 6 months ago. I also had a conversation with Craig about a certain type of blind I had seen at a friends & was told there was no such thing & he became very belligerent until after more thorough description, he finally understood what I was describing & admitted that, no, they did not have it. I was shocked at his attitude, especially being a good customer! He was totally unprofessional & I believe this is why they have not contacted me to stand by their guarantee of satisfaction!
