Really cool spot. It was very busy and the inside was small and extremely full. It's a lot smaller then I expected with limited indoor seating. They have more seating outside on first and second floor patios. Everything was full outside on the first floor too so we sat on the upstairs patio. Nice views from the second story and there's another bar upstairs. Upstairs bar and patio fully outdoors. It was pretty cold when we went, they had heaters but we were still freezing. The bartender offered me a blanket which I so appreciated! We didn't expect to sit outside or would have bundled up more. Overall great experience. Our bartender was busy but still checked in, was kind and offered great suggestions. Drinks were great. I'd love to come back and enjoy the patio on a nice night now that it's getting warmer! read more

Our first time at Dram & Draught Cary. We went on a Monday night for an Offline event. What a cute little venue! It's in the middle of Fenton with an outdoor patio and an upstairs that looks like it would have nice views all around. We didn't go upstairs because when we checked in we were told it was crowded up there. Understandable because the weather was amazing. There were seats available right at the bar so we sat there. I love watching the bartenders make the craft cocktails -- such an art! We were immediately served water which is always a nice touch at a bar. I ordered an Irregardlessly and husband ordered the Cuimave Caree. His was SUPER strong -- basically a big shot -- but he liked it. Mine was simply delicious. Bartenders were friendly -- kept our water glasses filled at asked how we liked the drinks. I'd definitely come back when in the mood for a quality cocktail. read more

Very cute location in Fenton. Food is mediocre and service is too: we ordered espresso martinis and were served in a plastic cup. When we asked for martini glasses they said they couldn't replace. It didn't make any sense. Then we realized they cleaned some and brought to our table for us to re-pour. They should have cancelled the bill or given us another fresh round. The other reviews are dead on...I grew a beard while a waited for my drinks on the upper level. Took over 30 mins for 2 drinks and there was only 30 people there. I enjoy many of the Dram & Draught, the issue is with the Cary Fenton location that there is a bartender who pretends to give a patron what they order. I am a bourbon connoisseur, and Rittenhouse Rye was my 1st bourbon (rye) 20 years ago. It is an affordable, but still very very solid drink for a bourbon and more so a fantastic rye. The bartender made me a Rittenhouse Old Fashion, and it was very light in color (Rittenhouse is a dark rye, and with simple syrup, bitters, etc. it will still be darker. This drink was light and cheap tasting...smoky like a cheap bourbon or scotch. I ordered a 2nd drink just to see if I would get the same, well I did...I still have a nasty peatey, smokey taste in my mouth, letting me know the bartender really stuck with the garbage he 1st poured. I have no problem paying for top-level bourbons, so a Rittenhouse (while delicious) is nothing at $20, including tip. Why he did this...no idea... The staff were fantastic, but the Rittenhouse rouse was pretty unnecessary. read more

Some of the best cocktails I have had. We got a bartenders choice that came with a perfect egg white frothed top and excellent balance. Pretty disorganized! We visited on a Friday evening where there were quite a few people but I wouldn't call it slammed. First annoyance was the lack of signage by the serving window which said you could only order to go drinks there. Then we waited for what seemed an age to get served, despite there being only one couple in front of us. Turned out that the server manning the window was also the only person making cocktails and she was getting zero help from her two colleagues. It took us about 30 minutes from arriving to get served our drinks one of which was a draft beer. read more

However, at the new Fenton location when you ask for the tab and the waiter/waitresses hands you the Mobile check out unit and the default tip setting in 28%, 30% & 32% it is incredibly off putting. I had an ok time and the drinks were decent, but if the definition of a base line tip is over 30% I expect perfection. Kind of a WTF moment and awkward. Went on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded. Contrary to what others said, service was fine in my experience. They even shifted a more knowledgeable staff member to help us once they realized we were looking for certain items. And that brings me to the reason for the review. Their menu isn't. They have the Raleigh menu on their website and in the building, but many of those whiskeys listed aren't actually served in Cary. It was very frustrating, and not the fault of the staff. As I said, they shifted folks around to help us when it was clear we couldn't get what we expected to find. In a year or two when they build up their stock and get the real menu posted, this could be a fun way to try whiskeys you can't find or afford to buy a full bottle of. We as black women were treated like we were not accepted their because of our color.Their was another waitress who came to the table and said sorry you can not sit here and I said what? She said that they had another party that was waiting for a seat but the other waitress had just told us she would clean the table for us. So next this other waitress came to the table and started pushing the table from us. So I said wow this is not right she did not even try to let us know about moving the table she just started to move the table while we were sitting their. So I told my other two ladies we are not welcome here. So we got up and left this rude staff and said to myself they do not like people of color here at dram and draught in cary nc at fenton.I was very disappointed with how we were treated their. Stopped by for our 2nd visit at D&D, what fantastic drinks. Had the Old Fashioned and really enjoyed it's flavor. The atmosphere was Fri and casual with people enjoying their pets outside. Our server was very friendly and accommodating for our needs. After bringing us our check, there was a small mixup on the bill. She immediately acknowledged her mistake, apologized and resolved.
