Another great find on our visit into this area. Friendly, fast, and great pricing. I ordered the ice coffee with sugar free peppermint and half/half. Definitely a must try

A family friend recommended giving this spot a visit in our time in Toledo. Open from noon to 10pm almost everyday, they have tabletop games that you can buy and play OR free demo games (see list in attached photos). My friends and I brought our own games to play (but ended up bringing games they already have in the free demos). They got a nice menu for coffee and teas (caff and decaf) with price range $3-6. They didn't have any empanadas, so I got their Boston Creme Cronut. It's not the freshest, so I'd skip on pastries next time and stick to the drinks. They got a menu for the holidays including the likes of peppermint mocha and gingerbread latte.

This is my new favorite place in the Toledo area!!!!! I found it via Yelp; I was sooo tired and needed coffee. Instead of the nearby chains, I saw this place. First of all, the name was cool AND I saw it was a game store as well as a coffee shop. Whaaaat?!?!? It's located in the small shopping plaza at Sylvania and McCord, near Charlie's Pizza & Ice Cream. Apparently it opened 2 weeks ago! Inside there is a leather couch, two leather chairs, a coffee table + several tables and one huge table area for game playing. There's also several high seated chairs and tables as well. Also: check out the manager door and the bathroom :) The coffee is roasted locally (I forget the Toledo business name) and the baked goods are from Bakery Unlimited in Toledo. First: Baked Goods I tried the "bear claw" and it was delish so I bought one for $2.00. It is not what you normally think of a bear claw. It is not a giant pastry but instead a long thin pastry (very flat) and could reasonably be a bear's claw (just one claw on its paw) with white frosting. It's really good!! Also, the recipe comes from an old Toledo bakery that closed 15 years ago (the coffee shop owner told me) and this bakery won the bake off that granted them the secret recipe. Then I got a brownie with white frosting and marshmallows + a brownie with chocolate frosting. WOW THEY WERE SO GOOD I COULD NOT STOP EATING. Like WOW. Second: Coffee I got the light roast. Ahhh! It was delish! So smooth! I was super pleased. Apparently this one is roasted just for Dragon's Roost!! There's fancy coffee options too, and I think tea also. Third: Games Plenty of good geeky table top games for sale. And you can bring your own to play if you just want to play and drink/eat!! They also have a lot of Wardhammer stuff and paint. Fourth: the bathroom Check out the dragon toilet paper holder. It is so badass!!! Fifth: Customer Service I think I maybe interacted with the owner? Not sure but she and another dude seemed super at home here. Very friendly and nicely gave backstories on stuff to me. I meant to get my coffee to go but loved the vibe so much I sat on the leather couch and read while drinking my coffee for about 2 hours! BONUS Free wifi Outlets along the wall.

This is the perfect place to spend a rainy day! I've lived in the area for years and had never heard of it until I happened upon it on the internet. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and there's a great selection of games and items to choose from. We spent a few hours socializing and playing games with a good deal of room to ourselves. Our drinks and food were good-- the food menu seemed much smaller than it appears on some of the other reviews here, but that could be due to COVID cutbacks. I loved my time here and will certainly be returning in the future!

Went here with my husband. The coffee is decent, the baked good are great but most important, they have a decent selection of games!

Great spot for coffee, munch and nerdy pursuits! Very welcoming and fun games to play and or buy

Dragon's Roost fits a significant niche that the Toledo area needs. It's a great place to play games with your friends. As a new business, it's ironing out kinks, but it has all the potential to be a five star business. The greatest asset is the vibe. There are always fun people hanging out, whether they work there or not. People play games, talk about games, and ask about each other's games. While serious gamers' games go on (I've seen a regular D&D group, plus a board game I've never seen before), people also play more casual stuff. The staff do a lot to make the place great. They are helpful, friendly, relaxed, and interested in games. The food available is good. All the baked goods are fresh and tasty and at a reasonable price. I drop $3-4 on cronuts or brownies. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to that, but the hot chocolate is good and the Italian sodas are delicious. But the selection is a little limited. I sort of want them to have more offerings of just regular soda. I have cleaned them out of cold bottled water once. Bags of chips would be welcome. I want to stay there for hours on end and I would be spending more money if they had a few more choices in beverages and food. And it doesn't have to be fancy. The tables are gorgeous. There are four big wood tables and the cards slide across them easily. There's also bar stools, tall smaller tables, and a couch and coffee table area. The furniture is comfortable with a leather and dark wood feel. It feels like a smoking lounge, but without smoke. The layout is not perfect. The big tables are so close that it's hard to have multiple groups use them. It's not terrible, but it is the only drawback in a very nice looking store. They have a few games available to play for customers. They have some excellent games for sale. We bring our games with us because we're particular and the staff is totally cool with that. In the end, Dragon's Roost is a strong four and a half stars. Great staff and furniture give a relaxed environment for gaming. The food and drinks they have are good, but I hope they add more. If you like games, it is very fun. I'm becoming a regular.

One of my favorite coffee shops! The service is excellent and the theme is so creative. Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with the staff- I've never had a bad experience. My personal favorite is the mocha. The coffee is very strong so if your a light coffee person (like myself) ask for light roast. If you're a tea person, try the London Fog! Its delicious! Its always worth it to sit down and enjoy the environment of this cafe if you have the time. Maybe even bring in a board game and a couple of friends! It's a wonderful welcoming environment where all are welcome (see Elysium poster above coffee creamers).

Dirty Chai and super chocolatey brownie from Bakery Unlimited! So good!

This place has been needed for some time! The best parts of a gaming store and a coffee shop! A very learned staff on not just the coffee and tasty noms but also the games! I'm getting back into miniature gaming because of this place because I have found my people! Also super cool that they are open late over the weekend and Friday nights! Not only awesome to game their but also to just hang out amongst like minded people. Gladly a part of their stars program where I get a free coffee after 10 purchases! That won't take long at this place!

Kinda bad. Bad staff and games are old i don't know about this space. Not the best. I'd recommends going to checkmate games instead .

The staff here is likely knowledgeable when it comes to games, which I don't play many of the types of games they offer her. Just not my cup of tea. On the comics side, which I feel is enough to review them on, since it is advertised on the sign, there is a large selection, but it's not that great. Mostly new books, yes there are rows of back issues, but it's all common stuff, nothing a big collector needs. The staff that is here most of the time doesn't know a lot about the comics side of the store, the few times I've asked I've been told the comics guy is only there on Wednesdays. Such is life. Luckily for me I know the comics industry well enough to not need a lot of help with my choices. It's a good shop for comics, just not great.

You ask a question even if they are just standing there reading they are very short and rude with you. While they do have a large comic book selection and 40k selection. It does not out weigh the way I was treated, the cleanliness, and the organization. I'll take the drive to other cleaner and friendly game shops.
