I absolutely adore Dragon Marsh! It is possible for me to make a quick stop inside, there is go much to look at! The herbs and teas are amazing. They carry just about every herb needed, no matter how uncommon a particular one seems. They carry any stone and crystal I have ever needed. The owners are the nicest pure hearted people I have ever come across and their staff is courteous, helpful, friendly and well educated in regards to the products and different uses of items. I have shopped at Drangonmarsh for years but since moving to the new location the feel of the shop is not the same and the inventory is becoming limited. I miss the days of wind chimes, besoms, talking boards, and a decent selection of intelligent books but understand that the economy and changing public wants have everything to do with what inventory is carried in the shop. I am a big mineral fan and my only beef if that their minerals are incredibly expensive. Especially the bismuth which isn't even naturally occurring but still waaaay too expensive. I love this shop! They have a lot cool and interesting items that you don't really find anywhere else. The only complaint I have is that their costuming is a bit expensive, even for the premade shirts and dresses. To get something custom made is quite pricey. I recently moved to Riverside from LA. My bf wanted to show me around town and decided that I would probably like Dragonmarsh. When I first walked in I thought to myself, "what I would do with this place!" It falls way short of the Bodhi Tree or the Psychic Eye. Dragonmarsh has a lot of growth potential. That was until I was escorted to the back room. OMG! Dragonamarsh has one of the greatest assortment of herbs, spices, oils, and minerals. I've been looking for some of these items for years, and unable to find them in China Town, Whole Foods, herbal pharmacies, nurseries, or the Co-Op! Not to mention they are so inexpensive. What a great little shop! Everything you could want for anything from ritual supplies to historical costumes! The personal attention at this shop is so nice and the staff so friendly that I never have to hunt for someone to open a case or show me an item on the wall because I'm usually having a chat with someone while I browse! It;s such a nice change over the big stores where someone says "its over there." I also love the fact that they have local artists on call for almost any type of accessory you need, from clothing and leather goods to wands. They have the most herbs I have seen in one place. I wouldn't recommend their Ren Faire clothes (although they are affordable) because the bodice I got from them was unboned and bunched up oddly. (To be fair it was the first time I bought Ren Faire clothes.) There was one kind of creepy guy but I think he left and everyone else is nice. This is the best place to go for herbs. read more

Personally, I always love popping into this shop whenever I get the opportunity. The selection is nice, and even if you aren't into the mystic stuff, there's tea, jewelry, and stuff for ren faire (plus the adorable kitty, Pepper). The staff is friendly and quirky (though I'll admit, I have my favorite and some days certain quirks can be pretty annoying) Now, I'd probably only give them 4 stars for customer service if this was any other kind of shop, but the fact is this is one of only two mystic shops that I've gone into and never felt uncomfortable in. My experience in other shops have varied from "how quaint" to stones feeling off (heavy, overworked, or even just plain icky) to almost vomiting and slapping the owner for allowing "that thing in." Dragonmarsh treats their stuff well. I've never bought an overworked or tainted stone... There was this one sheep pelt that confused me though. (I may have made a bit of a face) but, as soon as the worker started telling me about it, I realized it just needed a little love and affection. I even ended coming back that same week to show some friends the shop and it was much happier, not nearly as "crusty an old man" as it had earlier that week, lol. read more

Reading some of the reviews, kind of startled by a couple of them & I feel I need to give the store a fair shake. A couple people posted about being followed around in the store -- makes me wonder what they were doing that looked suspicious. I know the store very well, and regulars are not usually followed around unless they have asked for help, or are chatting with an employee. Yes there are people watching all the time, especially around the holidays-- to see if you can't find something or may have a question, and to make sure nothing gets pocketed. I have volunteered for a couple special events there, so I have an idea of their policies. If you are dressed like a homeless person or have baggy clothes on with lots of pockets &/or you look like you are trying to hide something, the people working are told to keep an eye on you. Doesn't that make sense? Don't think it is any different in any other small store -- if you look shady, you will be watched. Just today I ran into my local market where I go to all the time, but this time I had just finished a walk & was dressed in sweats with my hair all mussed by the wind, and you bet I was followed. It was not personal, and I would have been surprised if they didn't keep an eye on me. When I am shopping, I am glad for places with helpful employees -- but then again I don't have anything to hide. I don't know how many times I've been in Target or Lowe's or other big stores and couldn't even FIND anyone to help me. These people need to take into consideration that seasonal help may not know if you are a regular in a place, and they may not be as skilled at discretely shadowing shoppers as the full time employees. This happens everywhere, and it doesn't mean it is a bad store. Any way, you couldn't ask for a group of friendlier people than at Dragonmarsh -- they will talk to just about anyone about just about anything. If they don't know the answer to a question they will make an effort to find out for you. The selection of oils is phenomenal, the spices are way cheaper than the grocery store, and you can always find unique gifts there! I have brought a lot of friends in to check out the store & every one of them keeps going back or asking me to pick up refills of something or another for them. If that doesn't tell you it is a great store, I don't know what will. read more

Came in yesterday with some friends for my first time. I grew up with a store similar to this in FL so I was excited to find out there was one here! We walked in and everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. I personally didn't need anything at the time, however I did see a lot of stuff I will for sure be back for (Maybe even get a Tarot Reading!). My boyfriend hasn't been in here for many years but he remembers it as a pretty cool place, while my sister who lives out of state wants to come by whenever she comes to visit. read more

This place is super awesome but very overpriced. I highly recommend going on Etsy.com for crystals, minerals or rocks. You can buy a piece of kyanite the size of ur thumb (bout 3 inches long) for only .75 cents on Etsy.com. It was 30$ in dragons marsh. (Not to mention you can drive two hours south and there's piles of Kyanite all over .. Just have to hike to it.) Plus I only shop the accounts that don't charge for shipping on Etsy. Just check it out, I promise you'll be shocked how cheap you can get it online. Plus, on Etsy, it's all sold by average people just like me and you its not no jacked up consignment shop prices. Not to mention they watch you like a hawk while your browse. I understand a lot of people must steal from them but I'm always the only customer in there every time I go and it's uncomfortable feeling multiple people watching you look at something. I enjoy this store. Both my husband and I have been here to look for fun loose teas and other little trinkets. However, the latest experience with Dragonmarsh was less than pleasant. My husband and I were the only customers in the store, and one lady consistently followed us around-- she physically would walk around behind us/next to us and watch us like a hawk. Even in the little back room with loose teas--she would peer over my shoulders if I reached down to look at a tea. We did not feel welcome, have been to the store several times to purchase items, and will most likely not return in the future. read more

Guess what I found here... a ROOM of herbs and spices. A lot more than you'll find in the grocery store. I dropped in for the herbs, and stayed for the crystals. The staff is friendly, even to folks like me that don't know all the esoteric lore of crystals and stones. I don't sew, but a friend does, so I need to tell her about all the fabric and accessories. I'm not into the faire scene, but this store is, lots of jewelry pieces, ready made costumes, and custom made. The bookshelf is slim, but the staff know their stuff. I'll be back often. read more

I love this place and their products, but I had a little problem with the candles - the wicks burned down too much right away, so that I could no longer light them after a couple times of using them. I would have to dig around it and try to push the wax away, so I ended up just tossing them. But other than that they are a nice little shop. read more

Visited on 7-10-17... i dont want this review to sound mean, because the owners are very nice and helpful, and offer great customer service, BUT, i have to leave an HONEST review. I think they've had too many people telling them how great the store is, that they can't see how bad it is. The store is a sad remnant of what i remember it being in the 90's. There is a great selection of tea and oil, but that's it. Dragonmarsh, you've gotten complacent and dropped the ball. Please take my review as constructive criticism to help heal your business. No insult or meanness implied. The crystals are so overpriced that they will only be able to sell to someone who doesn't know any better, and is rich. You have the internet to compete with now. Your store is extremely under stocked. There's hardly anything in the store. Its almost empty. There are things that shouldn't even be on the sales floor, that are awkward and kill the mood/ambiance of the store, (such as the card table with bolts of christmas fabric) where's the racks of ren faire costumes? T shirts? How about some corsets and jester hats. Where's the dragons? Where's the bins of polished cheap "touristy" rocks? It looks like my grandmas yard sale or "joannes fabrics" clearance rack. How about some tapestries? Bones, fur, trinkets, Jewelry, beads, nagchampa, books, Cheaper candles? More stock and god, lower the prices on the stones and you might just sell them! You can find all kinds of really cool stuff on amazon cheap, mark it up a TAD, resell it and make a profit. How about some homemade soaps, lotions,oils, tinctures. Hell, i make soaps and candles, if you need a supplier, Your store is having an identity crisis. It needs better staging, decor and stock. I brought my daughters in to show them how awesome the store was and they were dumbfounded at why i talked it up so much. I was embarrassed. I was also embarrassed for you. How are you making any money to pay the rent on the building? Dont you wonder why the store isnt making any money but you got great reviews? Its because you are very sweet and people are reviewing YOU, not the store. Please take what i said to heart, it is meant with much love, i want to see the store succeed!
