Pro: enthusiastic staff. Pretty decor. Ample seating. Classic Chinese hot tea . Cons: we waited for 15-30 minutes for a booth. Though there was ( no lie) 10-20 tables/booths open. Our waitress was nice and eager to please but she forgot a part of our order. Because we waited long enough we didn't bother to mention our missing items until the check came. I ordered a Vegas roll (sushi) it was terrible and not remotely compareable to any other place we have been. It tasted of fridge and the tuna was rubbery (not fresh, and an odd red) We ordered two #2 dinners. Which included: bbq pork, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice , chicken chow main. Soup of choice : egg flower, hot and sour or miso. We both chose eggflower. . I also had hot tea. We both had water to drink. The photo I have included is a large plate. That had included a very small portion of sweet and sour chicken and bbq pork. The chicken was reheated rubbery texture. The bbq pork was dry and hard. The chow main and rice were both salty and huge globs compared to the chicken and pork. Outcome of this visit: maybe try it again but unlikely. read more

I've been here many times, and haven't had an issue with the food or service. I visited yesterday with my boyfriend and I ordered a wonton noodle soup and my boyfriend ordered orange chicken. My wonton noodle soup was NOT authentic and not good at all. Authentic wonton noodle soup is made with from skinny yellow egg noodles, wontons, and bok Choi. I received white soggy noodles, carrots, broccoli, snap peas, and 3 wontons. The broth is not the correct broth, the veggies didn't need to be there either. I was not informed that this wasn't authentic wonton noodles. I was only informed that there would be cha sui (bbq pork) in my soup; which should've been a red flag to begin with. I let the waiter know before hand that I was Chinese and if this was authentic wonton noodles and she said "yeah yeah yeah. Authentic". Asked her again in Chinese and she was short and snappy with me too! The food comes out, and it's was NOT what I wanted. I informed the waitress that it's not what wonton noodles is supposed to be like and she talked to me as if I don't know anything about Chinese culture; as if I was stupid! My boyfriends orange chicken is overpriced and tastes way too orangey and sweet. The sauce overpowered the taste of the chicken. I was not offered for an exchange in food or a refund from the waitress. She was short and would not let me have my piece of mind. I waved down the manager, and the cook came out as well. This time, I spoke only in Chinese and asked if they think I'm naive and stupid? Because I'm an American born Chinese. And thy said no but this is the way they make the food. I said that's fine, but you should inform people before serving this type of food and it's very misleading. I asked for a refund for the food because I only had one bite, and I didn't have a good experience. The manager asked to make me something else, but by this time my boyfriend already finished his food and I was already irritated and lost my appetite. I said no thank you. I want a refund and they kept pushing a gift card! Like WHY WOULD I WANT TO COME BACK HERE. I JUST WANT MY REFUND. we were literally bargaining for my money back for a good ten mins, until they finally agreed to take it off the tab. It was the worst experience at a restaurant I've ever had. I felt disrespected and I was honestly really offended by the way they do their business. Very unprofessional and rude. I've never had to bargain for my money back at a restaurant before. Food was very greasy. Forgot the sweet and sour sauce. Requested no spice, and they gave us full spice. Too spicy and couldn't eat it. Forgot rice. Called restaurant and they refused to give us any type of credit. Food used to be excellent. The past year really gone down hill. Manager extremely rude. After reading some of these reviews we were a little leery to try them, but I can happily say we they greatly exceeded our expectations! Our personal judge of a good Chinese restaurant is the BBQ Pork, the crab puffs and the pork chow mein - and we ordered all three. They were all really good! A couple of low notes though... The tea had a sharp tannin taste like it had sat all day and got too strong. Also, the egg flower soup had too much 5 spice in it for our taste. We will go back, I can tell you they spared no expense in the remodel... The bar is gorgeous and don't forget to look up at the ceiling in the main restaurant - it's breathtaking! read more

Great place to visit if you're in the Oregon Gresham area. It's about 25 minutes away from Portland for those who do t know Oregon cities that well. Serving size is big and really delicious. Only disappointment was the seaweed salad and poke sushi off appetizer menu. It's was soo small! Just because it's an appetizer doesn't mean it should be soo small, not for the price they are asking for both. Waitresses are great funny and pretty nice, but the one waitress we had had no idea what unfiltered saki was, and looked at me weird when I asked for it. Shouldn't you know what this is if you're working in the bar area as a waitress. Tip her nice regardless because she was attentive. read more

It's been our family tradition to go here for Christmas Eve dinner the last few years. We always enjoy it. Tonight, we walked in, and they were packed with people! Including a table of 32! Needless to say we had a little worry. But we were AMAZED! The staff was literally running around helping people. We were seated quickly, order was taken and food arrived incredibly fast, considering how many people were here. I've never been more impressed at a restaurant with the service! I called in an order for take out. The woman was wearing a mask so she was muffled, and she spoke very poor English on top of it. I ordered Hot and Sour soup and Chicken Chow Mein. When I got it back to my hotel room, it was not chow mein, but stir fried vegetables and chicken with little bags of dried crispy noodles. I called them immediately and said there was a mistake. She told me that I ordered the wrong thing. That I actually wanted Low Mein. I have ordered chow Mein at hundreds of Chinese restaurants and whatever they gave me was not chow Mein or low Mein. Then!!! She wouldn't exchange the dish! She made me pay for an order of Chicken Low Mein. So I asked to speak to the manager and she gave me the same runaround about "Traditionally, chow Mein is..."blah blah blah lady! She tried to blame it on Panda Express popularizing the wrong dish! Idiots!! Then!!! She finally agreed to give me my money back, but only if I went back to my hotel and returned the unwanted dish. She said the owner considers it a "Matter of principle." What principle? The dish you served me was not what I wanted or ordered. Most restaurants will simply apologize and make the dish you want at no charge. Not this place! Zero class! Not impressed my second time eating here now.. the food looks good and the place is very appealing from the outside it looks like a palace when U walk in there's fish swimming under the floor but the food has never tasted good to me just seems low quality I got a huge plate of Kung pao chicken with lo mein and I only took a couple bites and was done. I don't know why anyone in their right minds wouldn't give this place 5 stars! The absolute best Chinese restaurant I have found in Portland/Gresham area! This place is so good and always consistent. The prices are higher on some things but worth it and they give you giant portions! I mean giant. We never can finish all of our food and my family likes to eat Chinese lol This isn't your typical microwaved or day old Chinese food restaurant. I live 20min from this place and I will drive all the way there once a week just to get amazing Chinese and I know every time it's going to be good and my portions are going to be big. Update to previous review...we decided to give this place a 2nd shot after having a bad experience in the lounge. This time we sat on the restaurant side and had an excellent experience. The server (Julia) greeted us in less than a minute, waters and menus places right away, great attitude, and really good Chinese food. We started with potstickers and ordered orange chicken, general tso, and salted pepper squid for our main entrée. Everything was great and reasonably priced. Enjoy! read more

Been here twice now & I would say it's a good spot for sure. Food is awesome, great selection and price. My favorite so far is the general Tso's chicken. Mildly spicy with strong garlic flavor in a sweet dark sauce. First time we came for dinner. It was busy so the service was a little slow but still good. The sushi was great. Good flavor. Large rolls. We had the Long Island and one other with crab--I think maybe called the tempura roll. Both were good. The remodel turned out very nicely. They really put a lot of effort into it. The kids had a Chinese kids meal, which looked fine. I was a bit disappointed with their fried rice, which lacked peas or carrots, and didn't seem to have much in the way of eggs. Prices were fair. The staff were definitely still working out the kinks of their service, but I think they will get there. We will be back in a few weeks to see how things progress after the grand opening. read more

Beyond the cold food, the egg foo young was burnt and the BBQ pork was pink... not even cooked pink but raw pink. I'm not understanding where all the poor ratings are coming from about Dragon Palace! We have consistently visited and have never had a problem. The food is freshly cooked, nicely prepared and good quality. The staff are courteous, friendly and swift, as is the kitchen! Last night's chicken chow yuk was in a delicate clear sauce w a touch of garlic that was perfect, and the honey walnut shrimp dish is to die for! Even that normally somewhat boring staple, fried rice, was totally deluxe. And while I am not a fan of sushi (oh HUSH), my bf said it was better than what he's paid a lot more for. Good food and lots of it! We ordered food to be delivered to our hotel, delivered by Grub Hub. It took longer than expected, but was hot and accurate. The only problem was I had requested plastic utensils and didn't get any, which resulted in a search for some at the hotel. So I love this place, normally. We ordered our food and the receipt shows right but the food wasn't. When I called she said I couldn't bring the food in and replace it or they can't fix it. They said I had to go through the shipping carrier which makes sense for COVID. So instead of that I asked if I can start a new order through her for pick up and she said no. I like the Chinese food lunch combos, and the sushi go-round. Several times I've been in for lunch. I sit down, eat my sushi, pay, and leave. It's nice to have lunch at my pace. Food is good. Getting takeout is fast. The booths need some repair. Make sure you check your receipt before you pay. The last time I went there, I ordered food in the bar. Ordered a glass of wine while I waited, and when the food came, I paid the tab. I thought the tab was a little higher than I thought, so I checked it when I got home. The bartender that took my order added a 20% gratuity on my bill! Not noticing this, I tipped an additional 20%. So she got a pretty amazing tip!!
