I'm not even sure where to start with this place. I found it 2 days ago from someone on tiktok. I saw it was a 25 minute drive and decided to try it out with my boyfriend. The inside of the store is super clean and there are a lot of cute decorations. They have a bunch of signs posted all over the restaurant of the menu items, so ordering it easy. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. Also the nice lady who helped us was so sweet and helpful (and she offered us samples!). We got chow mein, rice, orange chicken, bbq pork, sweet and sour pork, teriyaki chicken, cream cheese wontons, spring rolls, and their signature boba milk tea from their milk tea bar. We first tried the boba while they packed our order and all I can say is wow. I think it's genuinely the best milk tea I've ever had (and I drink a lot of milk tea lol). We tried to wait until we got home to try the food but it smelled so good we couldn't, so we had some appetizers on the way. I had a cream cheese wonton with the sweet & sour sauce and it was soooooo good. We then tried the veggie egg rolls and I've never had such good egg rolls! They come with 4 per order and they're huge! So fresh too! I think the best part was the crunch; the outside was super super crunchy and the veggies inside were cooked to perfection -- not soggy or mushy at all! I don't eat meat so my mom and bf ate all the meat items and they had great things to say. My mom (who's supposed to be on a diet lol) couldn't stop eating her sweet & sour pork! The nice lady who helped us also threw in some chicken egg rolls for us to try and my boyfriend loved them. This place is for sure a 10/10, we will be back! When a Chinese fast food joint doesn't offer samples, they should expect customers who eat there to occasionally want to return an item. This is why samples are given out, to avoid wastage. Pandemic or not, it's a convenience for the seller and the buyers. The "BBQ pork" there is atrocious! Typical good BBQ pork is pink &/or red on the outer edge with a moist, light gray-toned center. As we've grown accustomed to getting. Theirs was dark, brick red. It was so over cooked the the moment the fork attempts to go through it, it splits in half. It's that dry & over cooked. See the photos. And when I asked to exchange it out for another item, she smugly looks at you and smiles, saying "no." Why in the hell did this place have a 4.x review on Google is beyond me. Honestly have been going to this Chinese restaurant since I was in high school. I would recommend the teriyaki chicken because it is totally different from any other Chinese restaurants I have had. Their egg rolls are so good. I also got milk tea from them because I saw it advertised but it was a bit too sweet for my liking so I wouldn't recommend getting that. A two-item combo is about $5.89 and it's loaded with your choice of rice and chow mein and two meaty options. I tend to not like take-out places' chow mein, and usually always opt for total rice. For Dragon Express, I'd have to say the orange chicken is their biggest winner. It's nice and crispy with a little bit of sweet. A big pet peeve of mine when ordering the poultry from these types of places is that the breading can be soggy, or it's like sucking on candy. I think it's a good balance. For the most part, the place always seems to be on the slower side. It's not the most updated restaurant, but it's clean and the owners are really friendly. The best Chinese fast food restaurant I've ever been to. My family and I have actually been loyal customers since 1996 or so, and their food has never failed on us. Everything tastes just right! We always order fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken, and pepper steak altogether, and they give you LOTS of food all for under $10. I went to Panda Express today and a tiny bowl of fried rice and orange chicken cost me that much, unfortunately, and it didn't even taste good whatsoever. But anyways, this place is just awesome, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area (or visiting the area) to stop by if they have any cravings for Chinese takeout. Two items I ordered were orange chicken and jalapeno chicken. Orange chicken was.... different! In a good way. Wasn't the twice-over-super-fried-morsel-of-chicken-inside-lots-of-batter. A good flavor, too. Bonus points. Jalapeno chicken was a huge let down. Wasn't quite spicy, wasn't quite salty, didn't exactly taste like anything I could put my finger on. I thought the food was very bland, I didn't finish even close to half of my bowl...So why the 1 star review?!!?! Horrible place, customer service is horrible, no variety of food, nothing is prepared at all, all you will get is a small spoonful of your item. They are very greedy with what they serve. To top it off, the rice is very stale and has no flavor at all, the orange chicken is absolutely horrible and no flavor, the food is cheaply priced and now I know why!
