Walked in today for a beer at 1pm to find about 30 women in yoga clothes cleaning and moving tables . It smelled like a hockey locker room or a gym with 100 people in it. I've been to such establishments all over the place. For what it is, it's top notch. I'm glad to see they are doing fairly well for their area. Typically these places (beer, no food, open social atmosphere) survive best in one of two places which are college towns or popular downtowns. Finally, a brewery has opened, and the beer doesn't taste like total trash but rather, total treats. Ambience 5: Wide open, oaky, traditonal, relaxing, comforting, and an overall great place to hangout and enjoy impeccable beer. Beer 5: I absolutely love their beer. The IPA and DIPA are phenomenal. They are hoppy, citrusy, floral, bittter, and perfectly balanced treats. The stouts are also excellent. Overall, I really love this place. The only downside is many other people do too, and they have no more openings for their mug club. Otherwise, I would be their 401st member. read more

If you like good beer, try this place! I tried about 6 different styles of beer here and all were tasty. I tend to like IPAs but settled on a seasonal brew called Spiced Winter Warmer since was less than 20 degrees on the day I went and my tastebuds appreciated the warm flavors of ginger, cinnamon and allspice. So good! The servers are friendly and you won't feel uncomfortable sharing a table here if you wish. We sat at the bar to watch a game. The place is clean too! As an aside, I LOVE their logo. It speaks to my Type A side. Why not 5 stars? Well, because my five star status will go to a brewery that has good beer, is clean, good staff, friendly environment (this place has those) plus a few exploratory or even risky flavors. Quite simply the best beer in SE Michigan. The environment is festive, and the concept of bringing food in, or eating from one of the many food trucks that stop by keeps things fresh. This way the beer is always good and the food is always changing! It is a great addition to downtown Wixom, which is becoming a destination. Great restaurants, great bars and a walkable downtown. Unlike its neighbor Walled Lake which is becoming a ghost town with no good stores and only fast food and two crappy restaurant/bars. read more

Visited here two weeks ago to check them out. They are located in a strip mall but do not let that deter you! The inside is roomy, open, large windows letting in lots of light and they have a long bar with lots of seats. Our server mentioned they are planning to add a beer garden outside. The beers were very good, with lots of fun choices. I liked the Saison with rhubarb/strawberry purée. The Blonde was also good. No food but you can bring in or have it delivered. Dart board and table games offered too. It got pretty busy after 5:00 with the after work crowd. They seem promising! read more

Opening day for this lil brew house and it was slammed with good people and good beer. It is in a great spot with awesome Windows, industrial modern decor, and one of the cleanest brew areas I've ever toured. Kristin Rzeznik was a pleasure to meet and so hospitable, as her mom was too! She was so nice and helping out on the floor. Good selection of beer; reminded me of my home brewery North Center in Northville. The IPA at 7.7% was nice and I enjoyed it. Their beer was up to par and the Only Fools Russian stout was excellent. They didn't have growlers yet but did have a ceramic mug club and their logo pint glass was very cool. I hope they are very successful and from the looks of it they should be. It's a perfect spot for a brewery and a great gathering place! read more

I am not a huge beer drinker but my friend who is wanted to try this place. Since I am not a huge beer drinker I am not going to judge this place on the beer but rather the service. When you first walk in you are not really sure if there are servers or if you order from the bar. I hate walking into a place and feeling completely out of place. We walked up to the bar to ask where we were supposed to place our order and "bartender" said someone would come to the table. So we sat down at a high top and waited....and waited.....and waited. I finally flag down someone to come to the table. The decor is very cold and hard, most brewers are but this place just kind of takes it to another level. We grab a deck of cards and played some games and other than that there isn't much going on. They do not sell food which again I know most breweries don't but it's away such a letdown. They do encourage you to bring food in from someplace else but at 11pm in Wixom, there is no place open. read more

I love this place. Wixom is so lucky to have landed this brewery, which has impeccable interior design and a great atmosphere, not to mention awesome beer. This is a cool and casual place. They don't have a kitchen so plan ahead: you can bring in your own food or order from a nearby restaurant. It's actually really handy when you hang out with a group that has different dietary restrictions. I recommend trying Palatable -- it is an amazing brew! They put on a great Oktoberfest in the fall. It's a really fun day with special events, live music, etc. and really reminds you of being in Germany. They also have a great, but small, front porch. Since we live in Michigan, we should always take advantage of drinking outside in the sunshine when we can! read more

Three of us shared two flights. I would get a growler of eight of them without any issues. The other two were good, but just not my style. That happens with beer. Barlow's was the food truck tonight. 10/15 The staff was terrible, tubby and dopey were working. The only words they knew were what do you want. When they did speak they never looked at me. I said thanks and they didn't even respond! They had no problem talking to others. I shouldn't have left a 15% tip but I'm just too nice not to tip. Honestly I am not a beer gal... but, the ciders here are always fantastic. I've had both the blueberry and cherry ciders (I think they change occasionally/seasonally) and they are awesome. The space is really fun and comfortable which makes it a go-to spot for us quite frequently. We've had mixed experiences at the Drafting Table. I know most people LOVE it but I'm just not feeling the love. We tried their Lagerfest special brews last night and they were undrinkable. We took a few sips, paid and left and went up to Kickstand Brewing in Commerce and had a great time. It's a lovely-looking place but they really need to offer a hard cider or a wine alternative to beer. We weren't treated too well when we brought in our own wine a while ago even though the rest of our group drank beer. The server that day has since left. She made us feel very unwelcome. Most of the staff are nice and friendly and I so want to love it here but I really don't like the beer and that's what it's all about. read more

I was very happy with this place. The inside is huge and open, the bar had a bunch of membership mugs on the wall. Service was fast and friendly. And most importantly, the beers were very good and fairly priced. I tried three beers and liked them all. The friend I was with kept getting the same one. Beer was just OK, and don't give them your credit card, you might not get it back! I was asked for a card to start a tab, even though I've NEVER had to do that at a restaurant or brewery; only in clubs. At the end of the night when I went to close my tab they informed me they had given my card to another customer and they had his, which did me no good. I had to report my card stolen, wait for a week to get a new one, and change all my auto debits. Huge inconvenience and I never got a call from the manager or owner. They clearly don't know how to run a business and put the proper processes in place. I'll be going to Draught Horse and the other better establishments in the area. read more

The beer is excellent and changes all of the time. We were not impressed when they first opened because the staff was a little inattentive and slow. Growing pains I guess because now we love the place. The staff is so great. The beer is delicious. The patio is wonderful in the warmer months and dog friendly. I've been to a lot of breweries but the brewer here, Aaron, has real talent. Great beers all around but my favorite is the Rezolute IPA. The brewery is in a great location, and while they don't serve food there are lots of food options nearby that deliver or are in walking distance. The manager, Amber, is friendly and helpful, as are the rest of the staff. I joined the mug club my first time here, and the mugs are the most unique I have seen. The decor is also fantastic, and keeps in the spirit of design that a name like Drafting Table would suggest. I highly recommend checking them out - you won't be sorry! read more

As a former founding owner of Witch's Hat Brewing Co; in South Lyon, my review is coming from a different perspective but as a craft beer fan and consumer this review is unbiased and objective. Aaron was the first full time employee we hired and that turned out to be one of the best decisions made in the early days of 2011. Aaron has a passion about brewing which translated into a fervent desire to ply his hobby as a home brewer into the world of commercial brewing. Energetic, knowledgeable and a quick study rapidly saw Aaron brewing the majority of beers that bore the Witch's Hat label. Aaron does not brew bad beer. A particular beer style may not be to your palates liking but they are all excellent. Odds are, if you like Witch's Hat beers, you'll love Drafting Table beers. Aaron and Kristin did it right. The location, layout, design, ambience, service and beautiful fermented creations. Some reviewers lament the fact that there is no internal food service. Understand, it is a herculean task to open a microbrewery. A kitchen is an entirely separate animal. The Rzeznik's have alotted space for a kitchen in the future. Establishing the brewery is paramount before delving into the food side of the business. Be patient. Myself and 2 of the other WHBC former founding owners, Bob and Mike, along with our wives, thoroughly enjoyed our visit on a crisp fall day. Between the 6 of us, we pretty much gave every beer a go. We were not disappointed. I especially liked the Robust English Porter. This was one of the top microbrewery visits we have ever had in the state of Michigan. The only complaint is that Uber cost me a fortune to get my happy rear end back to Livonia! read more

A true neighborhood gem! Excellent beer, fun events and a great gathering hole for my friends and neighbors. No food, but they usually have a food truck and there are multiple restaurants near by and you can bring it in. I would give 5 stars but the service can be a little slow. It's an ongoing joke that the service is bad. One extra person on staff on a Friday happy hour is a really good idea. Or, hire waitstaff that are less chatty. You can lose your server for a good 20 minutes while he/she chats at the bar. If they could fix this one thing, it would be 5 stars for sure! read more

Friendly service, nice atmosphere. Not a tiny place, but not overly large. The had snacks as well as the beer, and soda. We tried a sampler with 5 beers. The Belgian tripel was excellent, with lots of flavor, a light body, and clean finish. The amber had a nice malty taste at the start, with a hoppy finish, but not overwhelming. The hefeweizen had a good start with lots of banana sweetness and a lemony zest. Very easy drinking! The coconut porter was smooth with a sweet finish. The black IPA started sweet with a nice hoppy finish. Not a bad be in the lot. There were about a dozen other choices as well. Good beer, good service, good atmosphere. 5 stars. read more
