I run a very busy hair salon and when my computers are not functioning correctly, we can have big problems with scheduling, etc. Yesterday or scheduling system went down at our front desk, needless to say, it was causing big issues. Scammer, liar, lazy are the 3 words I would use to describe this place. Told me that my motherboard needed to be replaced. That much was true, but he claimed it was a $1000 part. He said he would order it and have computer to me within a few days. 2 weeks later I hadn't heard anything so I call him. Claims part is back ordered. Over the next 9 weeks I call him several times, usually got no answer, no call backs. He finally tells me to just come take the computer back. I took it to another shop and within a week they had contacted the manufacturer of my motherboard. Discovered it was still under warranty and had it replaced. Bottom line of you want an honest quote, quick service, and good communication this is NOT the place to go. read more

I just got a notice from Yelp to finish this review....when DR PC wrote to them and got Yelp to remove it. So this is also a complaint about Yelp who sent a form letter implying I didn't use this guy. Well I did, the results were bad, I'd never use him again, or Yelp which errs on the side of owners and not their clients. There's a reason their stock is "dead money" during a tech boom when MSFT is close to $200.00. My advice, avoid this tech and short Yelp before the FTC investigates them.....I'm betting they pull this review too. read more

Dr PC saved my desktop PC! One day I started my normally reliable desktop computer and couldn't even log in because of the blue screen of death. John met me within an hour to pick up the computer, diagnosed that my 5 year old hard drive had failed, and then was able to replace it within a couple days while saving all of my old files. Called Dr.PC to have my PC worked on due to it not performing well. Found out they are a mobile service and he came to my place to do the repair. John the technician was very professional and nice (my dog loved him.....my dog usually is very standoffish with strangers) and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. I paid what he quoted me over the phone which was very good compared to the other quotes I got. This service was quick, he came to me, affordable, and most of all......dog approved! I took my PC to Dr. PC when it had problems booting up, instead displayed only a message that the boot sector needed to be repaired. I took it to Dr. PC, which was the first time I'd visited them. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and service was quite good. Before starting with it they called me to describe what the problem was and to discuss options. Turnaround time was quick. When I picked it up and started it back up again at home I was very happy to find that all my files were still on it, nothing had been lost. It's been a couple of weeks now and it seems as stable as a rock. Had the technician from Dr PC at our home office today. We wanted to transfer our outlook email from our old PC to our new mac, aside from a few other, not so important issues. The technician was on time and had our email working on the mac pretty quickly. He also took care of the smaller issues that had been bother us for a while (chrome getting constant pop ups, weak wi fi signal up stairs bedrooms, etc) In short, the tech was very friendly, on time, and seemed to be pretty knowledgeable. I own a small buisness, and my hard drive crashed, He promised me to build the computer in 5 days and will be better. He took 12 days and he never answers his phone, He built one of the worst computer i ever owned it. when we had the problem he never answered his phone.Please do not give your computer to this company. I don't know what happened but yesterday my PC would not boot. It suddenly became an expensive paper weight. I'm not a computer guy and I needed help. I checked Google for "computer repair" in my zip code. Along with Dr.PC, I read all the Yelp reviews on the companies in my area. Now I don't put much faith in reviews because I think they are mostly written by relatives and friends of the company owners. I selected Dr.PC and gave him a call. He told me what he charges, which I thought sounded reasonable since I have never dealt with a PC repair service, and we made an appointment to come out a few hours later. John showed up and within one hour he had my PC up and running. Along with his computer knowledge, he has a very likable personality and I felt very comfortable with his service. My Ipad Mini lost a battle with a brick floor when dropped by my grandson. After checking out many different companies to repair I came across Dr PC. Called on a Sunday and they were in the office. I was able to drop it off that day and picked it up on Tuesday morning. Looks good as new. The repair cost was $139 which was very reasonable as other places wanted between 150 and 200. Nice guy, but i found him a little off in both experience and temperament. He charged me much more than his original quote for a motherboard replacement. When i started to question it, he sort of came unglued and right then and there started to dismantle the computer, saying he would just put the old board back in. I thought i may have overreacted and against my better judgment paid him and left with my "repaired" computer. end result - my preinstalled Windows version was no longer genuine since the motherboard was replaced. When i called him, he said he'd never heard of such a thing. Then, he asks his buddy who i clearly hear say, "oh yeah, tell her to call MIcrosoft and just ask for a new ID#". Wasn't that easy. In order to re-install with new ID, everything on the hard drive had to be backed up which could only be done by removing it and using a hard case to copy it to an external drive. Oh, yeah, the kicker - the new mother board only has half the memory that my old one had. But, maybe it was a fluke and he going through a rough time. read more

John P., the serviceman of "Dr. P.C. was hired to clean our computer & clear it of an apparent virus. He came for a few hours at almost a hundred bucks an hour & made some adjustments. During this time, he sold us coverage of Kaspersky, telling us it is the best for virus protection. He did not provide us with a receipt when he left. Now, less than three weeks later (during which time we were out of town & not even using our computer), the Kaspersky we paid him for is not working, & we now have a major virus. When I called him to politely ask him to please make good on his repair job for us, he said he would call us back as soon as possible to schedule a time for him to fix our computer internally without having to come here. That also would have been fine with us. He did not return any phone messages & ignored the e-mail we sent. We are unable to access e-mail & having major computer problems. We've left several messages on his business tape, but he has not responded. I hesitated on whether to give John one or two stars. He seemed like an honest person with integrity, but someone who charges a lot of money & doesn't deliver is a big disappointment to us. We so want to have a regular computer service person we can trust, but it seems this "Fly-by-night" person isn't the one. We are forgiving & kind people; If he had a personal issue that detained him, he could have at least called to explain why he wasn't able to respond to our many messages. We would have understood, but clearly this doesn't seem to be the case with this "Doctor." read more

I really tried to get a good experience out of this guy, but it didn't happen. Ordered a PC and Monitor. Monitor was so bad I had to go to Best Buy and get one myself and luckily received a credit for the monitor. The PC is another story. Promised a list of my specs but did not deliver. Gripes: Usually late or reschedules appointments. Did not have WIN 10 installed. I had to do this myself and there was an issue with the Mother Board that I had to look up on Google and do a work around just to eliminate error msgs. Promised Office 10 and I'm finally, after 2 visits from Dr. PC going to uninstall the inop version and put my own in at my cost. Seems to always be "too busy" to help with customer (that would be me) and never competes the job. Also on delivery, Dr. PC said it will take a few days and up to a week to get all your updates. So he does not test the computers he builds and sells. It's a crap shoot when installing on site! I solved 80% of my "new computer" issues myself as I was tired of waiting for a response or a slip shod job. Not recommended. I think 1 star is over rating. read more
