I first encountered their office when I had to get a physical for my new job about 9 years ago with Dr. Artim. Being new to the area and on my own insurance for the first time, I needed a doctor. I was able to join with Dr. Becker as a new patient as the office left a good impression. I mainly see Trisha Whistler, the NP for all my checkups, etc and I have also been able to see Dr. Artim when needed. I've actually only seen Dr. Becker once or twice for a call in appointment. I find everyone there super friendly and easy to work with, be it scheduling appointments, checking in/getting info, and the nurses who do the initial visits. It isn't the most modern looking place, but the staff is very well informed. Records on computer, super fast electronic prescription sent to my pharmacy, etc. They have an online portal through their website now too. They have given me good informal referrals for specialty doctors, have kept up on my immunizations, and in general, I feel the practice is just well run. They do not have super extended hours (7:30/9 to 4/5 depending on the day, and alternating Saturday mornings), but I have always been able to get in the same day if I call with a problem that I might need a prescription for (e.g. ear or sinus infection, etc) and they squeeze me in before closing. A nurse always calls back within an hour or so. I have never had to rely on going to an Immediate Care place instead of them, and you don't have to make a general appointment 3 months in advance. I don't get sick much or have any chronic conditions, but for general practitioner need, they totally fit the bill for me. The only slightly poor experience I have had was with Dr. Becker who's bedside manner was a little brusk when I came in with a mysteriously spreading rash on my arm, but I almost always see Trisha and she is excellent. Dr Artim is very nice too. Also, when you call after hours, they can connect you to an answering service if you have a problem and need to speak to a doctor, but there is no general voicemail available if you needed to leave a message about canceling an appointment/needing a refill.

Without ever treating me before, Dr. Lugo took my emergency appointment request and sat with me to go over the diagnosis so that he could complete the form for me. I wanted some more explanation about Diabetes Type 1 but was immediately changed to another insulin (without explanation why or the dosage frequency difference). Had to call the practice for 3 days until one of her "nurses" got answers to my questions. She was pushy to refer me to a dietician (I had had one for 3 years) who would show me insulin pumps as NP wanted me to get on one soon. She said she had only 3-4 patients Type 1 who did not have a pump. I asked what kind of glucose levels they had and she just said "high". Second visit she had a student who just reinforced everything she said to me, even if I challenged it. Next appt. (after 3 months) after 5 reminders of appt. they called tro change my appt. to earlier in the day of to have a shorter appt. as NP was leaving early to get married and would be gone 3 weeks for honeymoon. I asked if I could see Dr. Lippes as she was gone and practice gave me an appt. in 7 weeks stating he was not taking new patients. I took the appt. as was a way to see the doctor I originally had selected to see but was bluntly told "never can".

Just like last time, everything was ran efficiently and I was in and out in a timely manner. They did a wonderful job of numbing me up with lidocaine ... when I felt even a bit of anything and would make a wincing face, the attending nurse would notice my reaction and the doctor would give me more. I am such a wimp when it comes to physical pain at all, but it has been almost 7 hours since my procedure began, about 6 1/2 hours since the last shot of lidocaine, and I don't feel much at all. I followed their instructions and they gave me an ice pack to immediately put in my bra on the side of my outpatient procedure and I'm home. They will send to pathology to confirm I am ok and they scheduled me for a follow-up next week. I really love it here. I hope I don't have to come back here, of course, due to the main focus of this office ... but if I did, I would feel I was absolutely in the best hands, and these are warm and compassionate ladies working here, and I truly recommend this place if you find yourself in need of care for your "girls" ... you will be treated with dignity and respect and wonderful bedside manner!
