Great surgeon but I want to share what he did to me. Romano told me "we" normally dont inject Botox after surgery but I was adamant about it since I had never had Botox. (I wanted to see what the standard was since I would be moving out the area.) Instead of refusing and explaining why, he sent me to his buddy who pretended to inject me with Botox then charged me 500. My face was recovering from surgery and numb, so I thought that was reason I did not feel anything. Well except for the liquid that was dripping down my face!? Looking back it was weird how the dr asked my friend if she wanted to leave the room.. I supposed she would have seen him do NOT A DAMN THING. Only after I had Botox actually injected did I realize the rip off. Romano may not have been the one to reap the benefits from the visit but he knew I wasn't going to get Botox so what's the difference. This guy mutilated my ears and my face. He said " I see burn victims all day and then you come in" like he was criticizing me after he disfigured my face and ears. If you are there to get anything on your face, look elsewhere. He will comeback and deny this review and offer his services to make it look like it wasn't him. So I'm 10 years out from having my breast augmentation and my breasts still look amazing! I have had no problems with them and no contractures. I went to Dr. Romano 12 years ago for a breast augmentation. He did a great job-very natural. This past summer (2023) I wanted to have them explanted. I have changed over the years and quite honestly, I didn't want a foreign body inside of my body when I have some natural breast tissue. They say you can keep in implants for a long time, but I do believe they can have an affect on your health and my gut was telling me it was time to take mine out. I decided to go back to Dr. Romano since he knows his own work and I had a great experience with him before. He reviewed my most recent Mammogram and didn't suspect any ruptures so he did a Capsulectomy. The healing went well and his office was very responsive to any calls or questions. I feel the need to express my complete and utter disappointment with what was the most terrible personal decision I have ever made - the procedure Dr. Romano performed on my breasts. I just made my final Care Credit payment for this $13,675.00 procedure and have no words to express how emotionally broken I am from the results. Not only was the experience traumatizing (waking up with a severely injured tongue and left with an indentation on my breast for 6 weeks) but the results have been so terribly disappointing. I am 35 years old with no children and no pregnancies and my breasts look like they belong on a 60-year-old woman. Actually, I have seen 60-year-old women with way more youthful breasts than I. I knew when we were speaking during my consultations that I would need a lift when going from nearly 500cc's to 300. Now, due to the actual fee plus interest, I have paid $23,000 for breasts that are painful to wake up and look at every day. My self-esteem is destroyed, I have no confidence in my clothing, and I do not have the funds to pay for the lift I should have had him perform. I don't know if he remembers but he repeatedly told me that I did not need one and I trusted him. Well, he was wrong and they sag, one breast is bigger than the other, and one sags more than the other. I went to him to express my dismay with this and he quoted me another $10,000 to perform the lift that should have been done in the first place. Dr. Romano is great. I am bit over 30, very skinny and athletic male. It was tough for me to find someone who would specialize in so to say precise lipo. I had some stubborn stomach/oblique/lower back fat, though I eat right and work out all the time. All surgeons I saw specialized in lipo for fairly large guys, which seems like an easier thing to do compared to doing it on an athletic guy. Dr. Romano did an amazing job. If I could give him a zero I would... but at least he did the job! I went in to see Dr. Romano after several consultations for breast reconstruction of my tuberous breasts. Dr. Romano seemed liked a great fit for what I was looking for, and after a few visits in the office my surgery was scheduled. Here in lies the BIG problem. Every time I went in to see Dr. Romano we discussed what size implant I would like to go with, and every time I gave him the same response--- B-C cup. I already had a slight back problem, and did not want to go from having nothing to Va-va voom. Dr. Romano, however, thought that I should go bigger. I was adamant in my decision, and it is even logged on all of my medical paperwork from his office. It states in numerous locations that I had an estimated 5 cc's of my own tissue, (yes... I really had no breast tissue,) and that I was looking to receive between a 325-375 cc mentor saline implant. The morning of my surgery Dr. Romano entered the prep room where I was receiving an iv dock and asked me one last time if I wanted to go bigger, and again I said no, as did my mother who was in the room with me. I should mention that I was never alone on any consultation with Dr. Romano and therefore had someone there to witness him pressure me into a bigger implant and my response always being no. Anyways, a few hours later I came out of surgery, and awoke to my mother crying and yelling at him, "what have you done to my daughter?" I didn't know what was going on, but I soon found out. He gave me 475 cc implants!!! It was written right on my breast! He basically said I would thank him later because it fit my frame better. That night, after the narcotics had worn off i was in horrible pain, so my mom called his office and asked for a prescription pain killer. It was a Friday around noon when she got a hold of someone, and they told her I would have to wait until my follow-up appt. Monday! It was awful... he told me to take ibprofin or advil I believe... maybe tylenol---OTC pain relievers! Monday morning my mom and I drove out to his office, disgusted and he basically said, (keyword *basically* not verbatim,) that there was nothing he could do about it except re-do the surgery and make them smaller. I did not want this man touching my body again, nor did I want to go through that pain again. He also reminded me of the form I signed saying he was not responsible if the result was not what I had envisioned and therefore had not basis for a lawsuit. Sidenote---- he also did not explain the fact that I would need ultrasounds 2-3 times a week for 3+ months to stretch out my skin and promote a softer-feeling breast. I felt so bad for Kelly, his then esthetician, who had to her me complain about my now 34DD breasts on a regular basis. My advice... don't trust this man unless you want him to play God while you are helpless under anesthesia!!!!! I also have before and after pictures, as well as copies of all documentation from his visits, (courtesy of his assistant.) P.S. My right breast the incision was done directly on the areola, as we had discussed, but on my left breast it appears as if he, "missed," the areola and the scar runs parallel with it about 1/4" below my areola---very noticeable. read more

I had to pay $100 consultation fee to get in only to be told that he is unable to provide the services I needed and furthermore it would take another couple of weeks for him to give me a quote on another procedure. To me it was a complete scam to get the $100 consultation fee as the staff could have verified his availability on the phone and not have me go there and pay to be told sorry can't do it. read more

Dr. Romano and his staff are absolutely wonderful!! October of 2007 I decided to have my breast redone (from a 500cc silicon implant to a 700cc high profile implant) as well as Rhinoplasty. I had never consulted with Dr. Romano and was a bit nervous about beginning this process with a surgeon that I was unfamiliar with. To my delight, Dr. Romano was just the doctor I had been looking for! Dr. Romano was able to talk with me and pinpoint all my concerns; he even took the time to sit down and educate me on precisely what my surgery would entail. I have never been so happy, the results of my surgery are spectacular! My Rhinoplasty was the more difficult out of the two procedures and it looks great, it barely hurt at all after surgery. The only inconvenience was the inability to breathe through my nose for about a week and wearing tape and a nose brace for five days. My breast augmentation also went wonderful. I am so happy with the size I ended up with; Dr. Romano and his nurse were so thorough during my surgery they had brought ten different size and shape implants to the operating table in order to obtain the look I was after! He was also able to even my breasts out; one of my breasts naturally sits a tad bit lower than the other and Dr. Romano transformed them into practically identical. I was able to go to work merely six days after my surgery with only slight swelling and bruising to my nose and perky but not unnatural looking breasts. I could not be any happier with the results of my surgery, in my opinion Dr. Romano has magic fingers! I was also able to visit Kelly (the office's esthetician) and received one of the best facials I have ever had. She knew exactly how to cater to my skin type; my skin has never had such a glow! I went to Dr Romano after reading reviews here and other internet research. I have been plagued my whole life with what is called a buffalo hump. It is a large fat pad just at the upper part of my spine and a little into my neck area. I have always hated t shirts that show it and try to wear clothes that made it less conspicuous. Even my wedding gown came up high on the back of my neck so the hump wouldn't show. Finally I decided to get it removed. Don't ask me why I didn't have this brilliant idea years ago! The fat pad was there at my skinniest or heaviest and I regret that instead of hiding it I should have seen Dr Romano. Anyhow I finally bit the bullet and made the appointment. I loved everyone in the office The whole staff and the Doctor were very kind, available for any questions anytime and gave me pages of instructions and explanations of what to expect. D day was yesterday! I went to the surgical center at 450 Sutter and before I knew it I was awake and my husband and nurse were sitting next to me followed shortly by Dr Romano. I feel a little beat up pain wise but have pain relieving meds which I will probably need for 3 or 4 days. Today I went in for my first post surgery appointment. Dr Romano took off the bandage so I could see the results. I had a fear that the hump would still be there but be smaller but I was wrong. That ugly hump is 100% gone. While I am a veteran of many surgical procedures due to congenital problems, this was my first cosmetic surgery that I did just because I wanted to look better. I guess God gave me a nice healthy Brain so that I can have the option of buying a pair of nicely shaped and bigger Boobs. Twenty five years later, after walking around the planet with Boobs the size of Sausage McMuffins, I became friends with two beautiful ladies who both had nice Boobies. Friend#1 had extremely huge breasts and she was proud to have them Porno-big. She said Dr. Romano gave her exactly what she asked for. Friend#2 had a smaller pair that looked REAL. I didn't even know she bought her Boobies until she told me! Like Friend#1, Dr. Romano granted her wish like a benevolent genie, in exchange for a huge chunk of change. (Hey you want huge Boobs? You need to cough up huge moolah!) I had to go to their doctor because that is EXACTLY what I want. I want Boobies that looked REAL. I wanted a doctor that gives you what you ask for. Also when I asked them about their surgeries, they said he did theirs on the same day. Back to back boob jobs that look drool-worthy awesome? That's an O.G. surgeon! I went to Dr. Romano (2008) who was so well mannered and I could get the sense that he is very knowledgeable. His staff was so nice and his office was very comfortable. He asked me to bring in pictures of the look I eventually want to get. He NEVER EVER pushed me to go bigger. He said that going too big would look wrong on my frame and would only make me look fat because I'm a shortie. He did warn me that a lot of his patients tell him that they wish they could have gone a size bigger, so he advised me to think hard. He puts his patients on The Zone Diet and a cocktail of vitamins months before surgery because he said the nutrition from this diet helps heal the body quicker. I lost a ton of weight following this diet and my skin looked phenomenal. I also healed pretty quickly by following all his directions. Plus: I have MINIMAL scarring. My BF didn't even know that my tatas were not God-given gifts (I swear he didn't believe me until I had him closely look at my scars.) Mine are really soft, and one of my homegirls said they feel like "young virgin boobs". Don't ask me what she meant by that because I really do not know. I am really baffled by the other reviewers who claim that Dr. Romano doesn't listen to you and doesn't perform the procedure as you directed. The reason why I went to him in the first place was because he performed breast augmentation on two of my friends who were both extremely happy with the results. Hey, my BF is happy too! This review is for my experiences with Dr. Romano's nurse, Christina, who does my Botox. I've never met Dr. Romano himself, or scheduled anything major with them, so I can't speak to the unfortunate experiences the other reviewers have had. That said however, Christina is fantastic. My crow's feet were just getting out of hand -- I've got a big smile, and I'm expressive, so they were spidering out to my hairline on some particularly unfortunate mornings, and I'm just not old enough for that kind of crap yet. I'd never once considered Botox, I was just visiting their office on an esthetics school field trip, but I just really liked Christina's calm, confident demeanor. She did Botox demos on a couple of my classmates and she really knew her stuff and explained how much placement (and amount) matters. I decided I wanted to try it, and I wanted her to do it. I'm so glad I did. Everyone can see the difference and seriously, the money I spend on Botox each year will pale in comparison to all the creams and such that I would've ended up buying trying to plump up/sand down/erase those lines. Botox just doesn't let them form anymore -- so much simpler! In addition, one of my eyebrows had always been lower than the other, for as long as I can remember. It's one of the reasons I've always hated having my picture taken -- it was so obvious in photos. And Christina fixed it with Botox! Which pretty much means I will be her slave for life. read more

There aren't enough words to express my feelings for Dr.Romano. He is a true artist, an excellent surgeon and his bedside manner is impeccable. . After having lost 115lbs in 8 months post weight loss surgery I had a mess of a saggy skin problem. I knew I wanted a breast lift with augmentation and a tummy tuck. I also had issue with my inner thighs and saggy neck/chin area. Dr. Romano had come highly recommended from 4 other people I knew of that had gone to him and were very pleased with their outcomes. On my consultation visit I just knew that I had to have Dr Romano do my work. I had received some other estimates that had the surgeries combined and ultimately the estimates ended up being less costly. However, Dr. Romano wanted to do two separate surgeries and he explained the complexities of my breasts and my tummy tuck with all of the skin removal and reconstruction, it was safer. I agreed. I knew I was making the right choice. It was like picking the Mercedes over the Nissan. I was investing in my body and I wanted the best. I had two surgeries, two weeks apart. Surgery one was the extended tummy tuck and liposuction. Surgery two was my breast augmentation and lift and neck liposuction and tuck. Dr. Romano was great at setting my expectations on pain, drain tubes, follow up appointments (he even met me on a Sunday once to remove a tube), his office staff is very personable and has always been there for me as a patient. I had surgery at the end of Nov and beginning of December. I followed it up with the complimentary ultrasound procedures and those really did feel great! My swelling went down fast and I chose not to have any more. There was no pressure to continue or purchase anything further from Dr. Romano's office. My favorite thing has been all of the people saying they can't believe my breasts are implants. The slope and size is natural there is nothing fake looking about these new gems I have! They are my own personal diamonds. ;) I would recommend Dr. Romano any day to anyone having surgery. He is worth the commute into the City and he is worth every penny! UPDATE: Something new I tried with Dr. Romano, Botox injections in my forehead. I wanted to try it to see if it would really take away the big crease. Dr. Romano made me feel comfortable and relaxed through the procedure. And guess what? It worked! I have no lines in my forehead. Good stuff and a quick little transformation! EVEN MORE UPDATE: Try out Courtney Dr. Romano's Esthetic Nurse, she is FABULOUS! I was able to see Courtney for my injectables and she was great. She was honest in her approach and told me what she felt I needed, which was LESS than I got the time before. I appreciated that because it not only saved me money but it was a good fit for the type of look I was seeking. She is awesome. Dr. Romano really trained her well. This is the best office! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Romano's for 10 years now and continue to recommend him highly to my family and friends. He and his staff are all so genuine and caring and I always feel very assured that I will receive the best care possible. SURGICAL SERVICES I am no stranger to surgeries, having grown up with some medical problems that required frequent orthopedic corrections, and my highly anal-retentive nature makes me well-versed in the extensive research that goes into selecting a surgeon. Most recently, I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty to correct some major breathing problems and make some significant aesthetic changes. I have no doubt that the pre-op treatments, nutritional recommendations and supplements recommended by Dr. Romano are what made this surgery the easiest of my life. Not only was there zero pain after the surgery, but very minimal swelling and bruising since I followed all of the thoughtful advice. The comment I made most often when people asked me how I was doing with my recovery was, "I have had much worse COLDS than this surgery!" I received so many compliments about how I looked, though my friends who didn't know I was having surgery couldn't put their finger on just what was different - just that I looked so much better. Dr. Romano is a perfect combination of expertise, great customer service and care. He takes time to listen, understand and come up with the best solution. I needed an earlobe repair surgery and was worried about my ear not looking natural after the surgery. I have a very short haircut and could not afford any mistakes. Dr. Romano thoroughly explained to me what was going to happen and answered all of my questions. It's only been a week since my surgery and I couldn't be happier with the way my ear looks already. I had my Breast done by Dr. Romano, back in June and I'm very happy with his work! I had my breast done 2 other times before. By 2 different plastic surgeons and still wasn't happy.
