After going to a few other Doctors, I realized that Dr Romano is the real deal. He is a master at his craft. He is also respectful. I've had a few procedures from breast job to botox. His botox actually works and isn't weak like so many other doctors. read more

Great surgeon but I want to share what he did to me. Romano told me "we" normally dont inject Botox after surgery but I was adamant about it since I had never had Botox. (I wanted to see what the standard was since I would be moving out the area.) Instead of refusing and explaining why, he sent me to his buddy who pretended to inject me with Botox then charged me 500. My face was recovering from surgery and numb, so I thought that was reason I did not feel anything. Well except for the liquid that was dripping down my face!? Looking back it was weird how the dr asked my friend if she wanted to leave the room.. I supposed she would have seen him do NOT A DAMN THING. Only after I had Botox actually injected did I realize the rip off. Romano may not have been the one to reap the benefits from the visit but he knew I wasn't going to get Botox so what's the difference. I hope someone reads this a decides to spend their hard earned money elsewhere. maybe give it to a surgeon who respects his/her patients.. I hope he reads this; shame on you!. How arrogant! Excellent surgeon but his character needs work. read more

This guy mutilated my ears and my face. He said " I see burn victims all day and then you come in" like he was criticizing me after he disfigured my face and ears. If you are there to get anything on your face, look elsewhere. He will comeback and deny this review and offer his services to make it look like it wasn't him. I lived in Atwater Ca but commuted all the way to San Francisco to get this done. He tried fixing it but failed and it was in 2004 I spend thousands of dollars repairing what he did to me. This is why he no longer does S Lifts anymore because he cant do them correctly and lacks the skills to do one correctly. read more

14 years later... Romano performed a corrective procedure for my tuberous breasts in 2010. It's been over a decade and they still look absolutely fantastic with no revisions. I had no problems with surgery or pre/post op either. Just a really great experience. Thank you :) read more

So I'm 10 years out from having my breast augmentation and my breasts still look amazing! I have had no problems with them and no contractures. I went from barely and A cup to a 32 DD and my breasts look totally natural! Dr Romano is excellent, and you can totally trust him when you have any procedure done! He places the implant through a funnel, never touching it which means less risk of infection. I have had 3 kids since I have gotten them and not only do my implants still look good I was able to breastfeed with all 3 kids and pump with my 1st baby. I highly recommend him and I wouldn't even think about going to any other plastic surgeon! read more

My experience with Dr Romano and his team was nothing short of superb. We had a great report from the initial consultation through the operation and post-op checkups. And the surgery itself produced precisely the results I had hoped for. As a guy with very skinny legs, I asked for a calf enlargement surgery. I thought I would get a silicone implant, but my legs would not support it. We ended up with a liposuction to use my fat to expand my calf area. Wow, that was the right decision. I lost my belly fat, got an excellent V shape (unexpected but very desired), and received the legs I had always wanted. Thanks, Dr. Romano. read more

I came in to get a scar revision and Dr. Romano made sure this decision was right for me and was very supportive of my decision. His team is amazing of treating you as a whole, and not focusing on just your revision. I am happy with my results and the treatment I received under his care. read more

I went to Dr. Romano 12 years ago for a breast augmentation. He did a great job-very natural. This past summer (2023) I wanted to have them explanted. I have changed over the years and quite honestly, I didn't want a foreign body inside of my body when I have some natural breast tissue. They say you can keep in implants for a long time, but I do believe they can have an affect on your health and my gut was telling me it was time to take mine out. I decided to go back to Dr. Romano since he knows his own work and I had a great experience with him before. He reviewed my most recent Mammogram and didn't suspect any ruptures so he did a Capsulectomy. The healing went well and his office was very responsive to any calls or questions. I am now 3.5 months out from explant and I couldn't be happier. He is a gifted and conscientious surgeon. read more

Dr. Romano is so wonderful. I'm a physician, and I don't normally consider surgeons having great bedside manners. But Dr. Romano is the opposite of that stereotype. He is warm, kind and professional. He made me feel safe throughout the entire process. The results are amazing. I highly recommend him. read more

What can I say about Dr Romano and his team? Nothing short of amazing. I am so so it so Happy with my results. I've known him for 11 years. He did my 1st surgery back in 2007 and then I decided I wanted to go a little bigger on my Breast Augmentation this year. I was unbelievably happy with both of the results. They feel real and look real and you can't even see the scars. Exactly what he told me what happen happened. Shape and size and feel. His office is unbelievably thorough and great customer service. He personally called me constantly after surgery both times. He is a true professional at his craft. He didn't push me to go bigger. He sized me perfectly to my size. I couldn't be happier with my results and with the office in general. His staff is amazing and caring and thorough as well. I feel amazing and more confident and sexy. I have referred quite a few people to his office for these reasons and they have all been unbelievably pleased with their results as well. Thank you Dr Romano & Team read more

Excellent surgeon, skillful artist, a doctor who cares, and a person with a lot of integrity. Highly recommend. The results are natural and beautiful. Many years later, I am still grateful. read more

I have had such a great experience with Dr. Romano and his office assistant Gwen that I simply had to post this review to acknowledge and educate those out there who are seeking a plastic surgeon. After doing my homework on several different surgeons for quite some time, I decided to visit with Dr. Romano first, who was highly recommended to me by a college friend. Once I met with him, I didn't feel the need to meet with any other doctor and these are the many reasons why. First of all, the office is centrally located in SF and it is new and modern, and I never had to wait when I arrived for my appointments. Dr. Romano consistently answered all my questions and concerns before and after my surgery. He provided me with resources, education, step by step do's and dont's among the many other homeopathic recommendations for faster healing. When choosing a plastic surgeon whether medical or elective or both, it was important to me to have someone who knew how to listen. I also wanted honesty for realistic results and expectations. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and my overall recovery. I was able to make my trip to Peru 10 days after my surgery, which was fabulous ! I wholeheartedly recommend this doctor for his experience, credentials, bedside manner, technique, approach, and so much more ! read more

Dr. Romano helped me with a condition that had been bothering me for years and I wish I had done this sooner! He was patient with all of my questions and concerns and helped ease all my anxiety about my surgery. Emme, his office manager, was also very helpful in answering all of my questions and always responded to my emails promptly and with kindness. I am thrilled with my results and I am so glad I went with this practice for my procedure. Would use them again with no hesitation! read more

Dr. Romano is hands down THE BEST! I had my breast augmentation surgery done six months ago and LOVE the results! I was very small to begin with and wanted something natural looking and that would compliment my figure! Dr. Romano did exactly what I wanted and was straight forward about the procedure from day one! I went from an A cup to a D cup that looks so natural, as if I was born with these boobs! His nurse KAREN and staff are also the best! Any questions I had along the way Karen would answer them right away, or call me back within minutes! Listen to everything Dr. Romano tells you to do, from taking the vitamins, to after care instructions and to massaging the breasts! If I ever need anything else done or decide to go back after I have children, I will FOR SURE go to him!!!! Thank you, Dr. Romano and staff you are the best!!! UPDATE : After I had my son in June I was still able to BREASTFEED AND PUMP FOR 6 MONTHS! Yes, I still had plenty of milk to keep going even longer! I had no problem producing milk and I didn't have stretch marks or ripples after! Trick is... you need to get implants placed under the muscle not over! Also, eating a healthy diet and following a healthy lifestyle has a ton to how much breastmilk you produce.! Also, Dr Romano places the incision under the breast ....NOT through the nipple! I am very pleased with the fact I could pump and breastfeed for so long and the after result of my breasts.... still look amazing after pregnancy and breastfeeding! Thanks again Dr. Romano!!! read more

Dr. James Romano - Cosmetic Surgeons Near Me - San Francisco, California

My sister and I both had "work" done by Dr. Romano and we couldn't be more pleased with our results! I had a breast augmentation and I'm thrilled so far! It has only been a couple weeks, but my results just keep getting better and better. Everything is exactly what I asked for, what I wanted and had hoped for, and I've come to believe that this may not be the norm when it comes to breast augmentation; I wanted a very natural and subtle "enhancement", and that's precisely what I got. I've been considering breast augmentation for about 8 years, and for the past 5 years I've spent significant time researching the bay area for a plastic surgeon who's before and after photos had the look I was going for. I can honestly say that I've only ever seen a few photos that made me feel confident about even getting the surgery, much less a doctor who had a consistent record of the results I wanted. Dr. Romano was the first surgeon who's before and after photos consistently showcased a very natural, elegant, "real" appearance. There are no "beach ball boobs" on his record, none of the commonly seen result where all the fullness is in the upper pole and the lower curve of the breast is lacking. If you're looking for as close to perfect as the human body allows, for results that look as thought nature may have been responsible, then Dr. Romano is your surgeon. Thanks Jim! read more

If I could give six stars to Dr. Romano and his top-notch staff, I would. I was treated with the utmost professionalism, warmth, grace, and courtesy from beginning to end of my procedure and well into aftercare. I will divide this review into four sections: Dr. Romano himself, his office staff, his office itself, and his surgical center. Dr. Romano was a referral from a friend who really knows quality, and she was spot on. He has a voice that would melt the frozen tundra, an elegant bedside manner, and a true aesthetic vision. He was personable, kind, thorough, and a pleasure to work with in every way. He put me on a regimen of vitamins and supplements prior to surgery that I've chosen to continue because I really do feel better from the inside out. The care he took in the actual procedure I had done was remarkable and I've had many comments and how great I look. Dr. Romano has been available for all my questions and concerns and treats me like family. A++ gentleman. And his STAFF. The ladies working in his office are the epitome of both warmth and professionalism, a combination which is tough to find. They were all kind, flexible, efficient, fun to be around, and just like Dr. Romano, a joy to work with. They allowed me to change appointments, soothed my nerves, and always had a welcome smile and glass of water for me (gotta stay hydrated!). They handled business smoothly and are a real credit to the business. The office is elegant without feeling stuffy or intimidating, clean as a whistle, and very comfortable. In the waiting area, you will find photo albums bursting with thank you letters from grateful patients (rather than the expected before & after photos) bearing testimony to their great experiences with Dr. Romano and his staff. The best part is their 'hall of transformation' (just wait - you'll see what I mean). His surgical center, for the day-of procedure, was phenomenal. They let me choose what music to drift off to under anesthesia (Amy Winehouse, natch), and one of their surgical nurses, an adorable Russian gentleman, came over and actually braided my long hair prior to surgery, and did it in a such a fun and tender way that I'll never forget it. Like I said, if I could give this operation (pun intended) six stars, I would. Look no further for the best surgeon and best experience to be had in the Bay Area. read more

Well 'nursed' breasts - I needed a breast lift (& a revision on my c-section scar), & I had a few very close friends that had gone to Dr. Romano over the years for breast augmentation. Some of them started from having 'A' boobs, and I used to have D to DD boobs and then nursed 2 children so they actually deflated and were pretty low. I had a consultation with Dr. Romano - he was great and I felt very comfortable. So, I decided to choose him for the surgery. He is an 'artist' in his field - takes his time and really cares about the outcome. The surgery took a long time cause he is so meticulous. I would definitely recommend him. read more

I have recommended Dr. Romano a million times to friends and family so I figured it was time to put my love out for him on YELP. He is professional, friendly and above all a surgical artist. I have several girlfriends including myself who have had our breast done by him and all are beyond satisfied with the end results. Personally, I stressed to him I did not want anything too large for my body. Going into surgery we had a couple sizes picked, using his skilled eye during the procedure he choose a size that was a perfect balance for my larger hips. To this day people are shocked when I tell them I paid for 'em LOL which is exactly what I wanted. The pair God should have given me! I returned a couple years later for my nose and once again he gave me exactly what I wanted. Many Thanks Dr. Romano! read more

I recently had the great pleasure of receiving the BEST care possible, that could be given to a patient. Dr. Ramano was very honest and direct when consulting about my surgery, He informed me about the details of how he planed to achieve the out come I wanted (with my face it was not the going to be an easy task. Lol) Anyway He was clear, informed me very well! Just answered all my questions in a very real and down to earth manner. He was very reassuring every step of the way. If I wanted something this way or that way... He would explain why it was not a good idea, then offer a better solution to achieve the desired outcome I was seeking. I think He always puts SAFETY first, it seemed He had my best interest and needs as a foundation to giving me the BEST care. Whenever I have to draw a conclusion about a professional I am going to use to do something as life changing as surgery. I try to find out as much as possible about them. One can get a sense from how smooth a DR's office works by how the DR leads his team, Everyone in his office is a professional and expresses a genuine desire to help you achieve your goals and in fact exceeding them, they are very well educated and informed about many technical aspects of surgery and products, procedures etc.. When I would ask the same question from two different staff, I would get a consistent answer, everyone is on the same honest page! and with my best interest in mind. When I was in the recovery room after my surgery the hospital nurses were great! He is obviously well thought of there as well, the staff were polite and made me feel cared for, at a time when you felt alone and needed someone you could trust... I felt very safe, I cant stress that enough. The care was professional and nurturing. I followed to the" T" all the written instructions that were given to me by his office staff, about pre and post care. And within a week I could see why the results were" GLOWING."just follow the very specific care plan they give you and you will be fine. So, as I see it, if you want a highly skilled surgeon with an "A" team, this Doctor's highly trained surgical skills are coupled with his charm, honesty, intelligence and sculpturing artistic flare, that will help you reach your desired outcome!. read more

Dr. Romano was the best. He knew exactly how I wanted to look. He did a very subtle lift on the skin around my jaw and on my neck to get rid of my wattle. My recovery time was faster than I expected. Things went as planned without any complications. By the time I went for my follow up examination to remove my stitches, my skin felt smooth without any visible bruising or scarring. I think this is because I followed his staff's advice to have skin treatments before hand (which were great by the way) and I will definitely have him do my breast lift when I'm ready. His staff was very professional and went the extra mile for me to ensure that I was well taken care of and comfortable. Thank you read more

I feel the need to express my complete and utter disappointment with what was the most terrible personal decision I have ever made - the procedure Dr. Romano performed on my breasts. I just made my final Care Credit payment for this $13,675.00 procedure and have no words to express how emotionally broken I am from the results. Not only was the experience traumatizing (waking up with a severely injured tongue and left with an indentation on my breast for 6 weeks) but the results have been so terribly disappointing. I am 35 years old with no children and no pregnancies and my breasts look like they belong on a 60-year-old woman. Actually, I have seen 60-year-old women with way more youthful breasts than I. I knew when we were speaking during my consultations that I would need a lift when going from nearly 500cc's to 300. Now, due to the actual fee plus interest, I have paid $23,000 for breasts that are painful to wake up and look at every day. My self-esteem is destroyed, I have no confidence in my clothing, and I do not have the funds to pay for the lift I should have had him perform. I don't know if he remembers but he repeatedly told me that I did not need one and I trusted him. Well, he was wrong and they sag, one breast is bigger than the other, and one sags more than the other. I went to him to express my dismay with this and he quoted me another $10,000 to perform the lift that should have been done in the first place. I understand paying for the new implant and anesthesia but he should have rectified the issue by lifting them after hearing how sad I was and after seeing the results. read more

I recently had the need for cosmetic surgery and wasn't looking forward to the research that I needed to do. I quickly found that all physician reviews said much the same thing and had all the before and after pictures. It wasn't until I spoke with women who had had similar procedures done that I got a feel for where to go and not go. Dr. Romano's name kept coming up as the best surgeon for my need. The women were not only very happy with their results but also the personal treatment before and after their procedures. So I made an appointment. Dr. James Romano was very easy to speak with and he answered all my questions, both while in his office and some I thought about later via email. I felt completely comfortable with him and his staff and developed a trust almost immediately. He was happy to discuss technical details of the procedure, how technology has changed over the years, and what to expect. Prep before surgery is very clearly outlined and easy to follow. The day of surgery was actually pleasant. Once I checked in, things moved quickly. Everyone involved with my procedure was very friendly, attentive, and respectful. Before I knew it, I was in the car on my way back home. I had prescriptions for everything that might come up after surgery...nausea, pain, anxiety. I didn't need any of them. My last pneumonia shot hurt more than my surgery. My results are so amazing. Dr. Romano is an artist. I couldn't be happier. So I'm now one of those women who will say there is no one better in the Bay Area and I can better understand the excitement around the reviews I've heard and read. read more

Dr. Romano is great. I am bit over 30, very skinny and athletic male. It was tough for me to find someone who would specialize in so to say precise lipo. I had some stubborn stomach/oblique/lower back fat, though I eat right and work out all the time. All surgeons I saw specialized in lipo for fairly large guys, which seems like an easier thing to do compared to doing it on an athletic guy. Dr. Romano did an amazing job. No corrections were needed. Recovery was fast. The most important - results look great. I finally see definition even with less ab workouts than I used to do. Finally, I feel so comfortable in the gym. The whole experience was pleasant and easy. His staff was nice and made me feel comfortable though it was first ever surgery of any kind I had. read more

Top Doctor indeed. Dr. Romano is the best of the best no doubt. There's a reason I traveled from the very talented area of Silicon Valley to seek his expertise. I recently went to Dr. Romano for an annual revisit for my eye lid procedure and we agreed the procedure (with his artistic talent and skill) was a complete success! I can't tell you how elated I am with the results and how it has enhanced my overall attitude and confidence. I can say it has changed my life. When I was under stress , bloated, tired or just awake from sleep I would have droopy and puffy eyes. I began to become really self self-conscious. Three weeks after the surgery, there were no bags in any of those instances. I can't believe more celebrities don't take advantage of this minimally invasive and unbelievably affordable procedure for the outcome. Thank you very much Dr. Romano. read more

If I could give him a zero I would... but at least he did the job! I went in to see Dr. Romano after several consultations for breast reconstruction of my tuberous breasts. Dr. Romano seemed liked a great fit for what I was looking for, and after a few visits in the office my surgery was scheduled. Here in lies the BIG problem. Every time I went in to see Dr. Romano we discussed what size implant I would like to go with, and every time I gave him the same response--- B-C cup. I already had a slight back problem, and did not want to go from having nothing to Va-va voom. Dr. Romano, however, thought that I should go bigger. I was adamant in my decision, and it is even logged on all of my medical paperwork from his office. It states in numerous locations that I had an estimated 5 cc's of my own tissue, (yes... I really had no breast tissue,) and that I was looking to receive between a 325-375 cc mentor saline implant. The morning of my surgery Dr. Romano entered the prep room where I was receiving an iv dock and asked me one last time if I wanted to go bigger, and again I said no, as did my mother who was in the room with me. I should mention that I was never alone on any consultation with Dr. Romano and therefore had someone there to witness him pressure me into a bigger implant and my response always being no. Anyways, a few hours later I came out of surgery, and awoke to my mother crying and yelling at him, "what have you done to my daughter?" I didn't know what was going on, but I soon found out. He gave me 475 cc implants!!! It was written right on my breast! He basically said I would thank him later because it fit my frame better. That night, after the narcotics had worn off i was in horrible pain, so my mom called his office and asked for a prescription pain killer. It was a Friday around noon when she got a hold of someone, and they told her I would have to wait until my follow-up appt. Monday! It was awful... he told me to take ibprofin or advil I believe... maybe tylenol---OTC pain relievers! Monday morning my mom and I drove out to his office, disgusted and he basically said, (keyword *basically* not verbatim,) that there was nothing he could do about it except re-do the surgery and make them smaller. I did not want this man touching my body again, nor did I want to go through that pain again. He also reminded me of the form I signed saying he was not responsible if the result was not what I had envisioned and therefore had not basis for a lawsuit. Sidenote---- he also did not explain the fact that I would need ultrasounds 2-3 times a week for 3+ months to stretch out my skin and promote a softer-feeling breast. I felt so bad for Kelly, his then esthetician, who had to her me complain about my now 34DD breasts on a regular basis. My advice... don't trust this man unless you want him to play God while you are helpless under anesthesia!!!!! I also have before and after pictures, as well as copies of all documentation from his visits, (courtesy of his assistant.) P.S. My right breast the incision was done directly on the areola, as we had discussed, but on my left breast it appears as if he, "missed," the areola and the scar runs parallel with it about 1/4" below my areola---very noticeable. read more

I called this doctor with a rather immediate need and his staff check with him and called me back saying yes he is able to meet my deadline. I had to pay $100 consultation fee to get in only to be told that he is unable to provide the services I needed and furthermore it would take another couple of weeks for him to give me a quote on another procedure. To me it was a complete scam to get the $100 consultation fee as the staff could have verified his availability on the phone and not have me go there and pay to be told sorry can't do it. read more

Dr. Romano and his staff are absolutely wonderful!! October of 2007 I decided to have my breast redone (from a 500cc silicon implant to a 700cc high profile implant) as well as Rhinoplasty. I had never consulted with Dr. Romano and was a bit nervous about beginning this process with a surgeon that I was unfamiliar with. To my delight, Dr. Romano was just the doctor I had been looking for! Dr. Romano was able to talk with me and pinpoint all my concerns; he even took the time to sit down and educate me on precisely what my surgery would entail. I have never been so happy, the results of my surgery are spectacular! My Rhinoplasty was the more difficult out of the two procedures and it looks great, it barely hurt at all after surgery. The only inconvenience was the inability to breathe through my nose for about a week and wearing tape and a nose brace for five days. My breast augmentation also went wonderful. I am so happy with the size I ended up with; Dr. Romano and his nurse were so thorough during my surgery they had brought ten different size and shape implants to the operating table in order to obtain the look I was after! He was also able to even my breasts out; one of my breasts naturally sits a tad bit lower than the other and Dr. Romano transformed them into practically identical. I was able to go to work merely six days after my surgery with only slight swelling and bruising to my nose and perky but not unnatural looking breasts. I could not be any happier with the results of my surgery, in my opinion Dr. Romano has magic fingers! I was also able to visit Kelly (the office's esthetician) and received one of the best facials I have ever had. She knew exactly how to cater to my skin type; my skin has never had such a glow! Additionally I met with Dr. Romano's nurse Christina and received Perlane lip injections. My lips looked so plump and sexy yet not unnatural after my procedure. Christina took so much time and care in obtaining the look I desired, she is so sweet! I absolutely loved my experience with Dr. Romano as well as his staff and would recommend any friend to consult with him if considering any cosmetic work! read more

I went to Dr Romano after reading reviews here and other internet research. I have been plagued my whole life with what is called a buffalo hump. It is a large fat pad just at the upper part of my spine and a little into my neck area. I have always hated t shirts that show it and try to wear clothes that made it less conspicuous. Even my wedding gown came up high on the back of my neck so the hump wouldn't show. Finally I decided to get it removed. Don't ask me why I didn't have this brilliant idea years ago! The fat pad was there at my skinniest or heaviest and I regret that instead of hiding it I should have seen Dr Romano. Anyhow I finally bit the bullet and made the appointment. I loved everyone in the office The whole staff and the Doctor were very kind, available for any questions anytime and gave me pages of instructions and explanations of what to expect. D day was yesterday! I went to the surgical center at 450 Sutter and before I knew it I was awake and my husband and nurse were sitting next to me followed shortly by Dr Romano. I feel a little beat up pain wise but have pain relieving meds which I will probably need for 3 or 4 days. Today I went in for my first post surgery appointment. Dr Romano took off the bandage so I could see the results. I had a fear that the hump would still be there but be smaller but I was wrong. That ugly hump is 100% gone. While I am a veteran of many surgical procedures due to congenital problems, this was my first cosmetic surgery that I did just because I wanted to look better. Dr Romano and all of his staff were fantastic. They were all so kind and supportive. Wow I am just over the moon happy with the results and the process of getting here! Thank you to Dr Romano and his amazing staff! read more

God sometimes blesses women with three B's: Beauty, Brains and Boobs. Unfortunately, He decided to only give me two. Maybe I was naughty in my past life? Lucky for me, the Brains He gave me helped me do good in college and land a nice job that helped me save enough dough. I guess God gave me a nice healthy Brain so that I can have the option of buying a pair of nicely shaped and bigger Boobs. Twenty five years later, after walking around the planet with Boobs the size of Sausage McMuffins, I became friends with two beautiful ladies who both had nice Boobies. Friend#1 had extremely huge breasts and she was proud to have them Porno-big. She said Dr. Romano gave her exactly what she asked for. Friend#2 had a smaller pair that looked REAL. I didn't even know she bought her Boobies until she told me! Like Friend#1, Dr. Romano granted her wish like a benevolent genie, in exchange for a huge chunk of change. (Hey you want huge Boobs? You need to cough up huge moolah!) I had to go to their doctor because that is EXACTLY what I want. I want Boobies that looked REAL. I wanted a doctor that gives you what you ask for. Also when I asked them about their surgeries, they said he did theirs on the same day. Back to back boob jobs that look drool-worthy awesome? That's an O.G. surgeon! I went to Dr. Romano (2008) who was so well mannered and I could get the sense that he is very knowledgeable. His staff was so nice and his office was very comfortable. He asked me to bring in pictures of the look I eventually want to get. He NEVER EVER pushed me to go bigger. He said that going too big would look wrong on my frame and would only make me look fat because I'm a shortie. He did warn me that a lot of his patients tell him that they wish they could have gone a size bigger, so he advised me to think hard. He puts his patients on The Zone Diet and a cocktail of vitamins months before surgery because he said the nutrition from this diet helps heal the body quicker. I lost a ton of weight following this diet and my skin looked phenomenal. I also healed pretty quickly by following all his directions. Plus: I have MINIMAL scarring. My BF didn't even know that my tatas were not God-given gifts (I swear he didn't believe me until I had him closely look at my scars.) Mine are really soft, and one of my homegirls said they feel like "young virgin boobs". Don't ask me what she meant by that because I really do not know. I am really baffled by the other reviewers who claim that Dr. Romano doesn't listen to you and doesn't perform the procedure as you directed. The reason why I went to him in the first place was because he performed breast augmentation on two of my friends who were both extremely happy with the results. Hey, my BF is happy too! This review is for my experiences with Dr. Romano's nurse, Christina, who does my Botox. I've never met Dr. Romano himself, or scheduled anything major with them, so I can't speak to the unfortunate experiences the other reviewers have had. That said however, Christina is fantastic. My crow's feet were just getting out of hand -- I've got a big smile, and I'm expressive, so they were spidering out to my hairline on some particularly unfortunate mornings, and I'm just not old enough for that kind of crap yet. I'd never once considered Botox, I was just visiting their office on an esthetics school field trip, but I just really liked Christina's calm, confident demeanor. She did Botox demos on a couple of my classmates and she really knew her stuff and explained how much placement (and amount) matters. I decided I wanted to try it, and I wanted her to do it. I'm so glad I did. Everyone can see the difference and seriously, the money I spend on Botox each year will pale in comparison to all the creams and such that I would've ended up buying trying to plump up/sand down/erase those lines. Botox just doesn't let them form anymore -- so much simpler! In addition, one of my eyebrows had always been lower than the other, for as long as I can remember. It's one of the reasons I've always hated having my picture taken -- it was so obvious in photos. And Christina fixed it with Botox! Which pretty much means I will be her slave for life. read more

There aren't enough words to express my feelings for Dr.Romano. He is a true artist, an excellent surgeon and his bedside manner is impeccable. . After having lost 115lbs in 8 months post weight loss surgery I had a mess of a saggy skin problem. I knew I wanted a breast lift with augmentation and a tummy tuck. I also had issue with my inner thighs and saggy neck/chin area. Dr. Romano had come highly recommended from 4 other people I knew of that had gone to him and were very pleased with their outcomes. On my consultation visit I just knew that I had to have Dr Romano do my work. I had received some other estimates that had the surgeries combined and ultimately the estimates ended up being less costly. However, Dr. Romano wanted to do two separate surgeries and he explained the complexities of my breasts and my tummy tuck with all of the skin removal and reconstruction, it was safer. I agreed. I knew I was making the right choice. It was like picking the Mercedes over the Nissan. I was investing in my body and I wanted the best. I had two surgeries, two weeks apart. Surgery one was the extended tummy tuck and liposuction. Surgery two was my breast augmentation and lift and neck liposuction and tuck. Dr. Romano was great at setting my expectations on pain, drain tubes, follow up appointments (he even met me on a Sunday once to remove a tube), his office staff is very personable and has always been there for me as a patient. I had surgery at the end of Nov and beginning of December. I followed it up with the complimentary ultrasound procedures and those really did feel great! My swelling went down fast and I chose not to have any more. There was no pressure to continue or purchase anything further from Dr. Romano's office. My favorite thing has been all of the people saying they can't believe my breasts are implants. The slope and size is natural there is nothing fake looking about these new gems I have! They are my own personal diamonds. ;) I would recommend Dr. Romano any day to anyone having surgery. He is worth the commute into the City and he is worth every penny! UPDATE: Something new I tried with Dr. Romano, Botox injections in my forehead. I wanted to try it to see if it would really take away the big crease. Dr. Romano made me feel comfortable and relaxed through the procedure. And guess what? It worked! I have no lines in my forehead. Good stuff and a quick little transformation! EVEN MORE UPDATE: Try out Courtney Dr. Romano's Esthetic Nurse, she is FABULOUS! I was able to see Courtney for my injectables and she was great. She was honest in her approach and told me what she felt I needed, which was LESS than I got the time before. I appreciated that because it not only saved me money but it was a good fit for the type of look I was seeking. She is awesome. Dr. Romano really trained her well. This is the best office! read more

First time writing a review from a business to business perspective, but I couldn't pass up the chance to express how curteous the person on the other line was (I should do better listening to names). Working in a field where we get product to customers daily, every day of the week, it's a great feeling to have someone on the other end who can match or beat your own customer experience skills. This is the atmosphere that should exist in all doctor's offices, and others should take note. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Romano's for 10 years now and continue to recommend him highly to my family and friends. He and his staff are all so genuine and caring and I always feel very assured that I will receive the best care possible. SURGICAL SERVICES I am no stranger to surgeries, having grown up with some medical problems that required frequent orthopedic corrections, and my highly anal-retentive nature makes me well-versed in the extensive research that goes into selecting a surgeon. Most recently, I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty to correct some major breathing problems and make some significant aesthetic changes. I have no doubt that the pre-op treatments, nutritional recommendations and supplements recommended by Dr. Romano are what made this surgery the easiest of my life. Not only was there zero pain after the surgery, but very minimal swelling and bruising since I followed all of the thoughtful advice. The comment I made most often when people asked me how I was doing with my recovery was, "I have had much worse COLDS than this surgery!" I received so many compliments about how I looked, though my friends who didn't know I was having surgery couldn't put their finger on just what was different - just that I looked so much better. Dr. Romano achieved some significant changes to my appearance, but it is a testament to his skill and keen aesthetic judgment that my new nose looks like I was born with it. I never knew that I could enter into a surgery feeling no anxiety or apprehension but that's how I feel now when I'm in Dr. Romano's very capable hands. MEDICAL SPA Dr. Romano's staff makes certain to be well informed of and well practiced in all the latest treatments and procedures and, though they will always provide comprehensive details of any procedure you're interested in, these conversations are never accompanied by any pressure to move forward with any decision until you're ready. I have treated myself to several facials at the medical spa and the results have transformed my skin. Years ago, I tried facials at day spas and doctor's offices but never found was I was looking for. The day spas made me feel pampered and relaxed but the treatments didn't give me the results I was looking for in my skin. The doctor's offices offered better results but that kind of sterile environment didn't make for a very pleasurable experience. I get the best of both world's at Dr. Romano's office since they provide the balance between the two - medical grade, results-oriented skin care but with a pampering feel! Not only did they recommend an amazing skin care regimen for me that I have been following for nearly 10 years now, but they check in with me to see how my progress is going and offer tips to improve my results. I'm looking forward to trying a new peel to eliminate the last traces of sun damage on my cheeks and take it to the next level! read more

Dr. Romano is a perfect combination of expertise, great customer service and care. He takes time to listen, understand and come up with the best solution. I needed an earlobe repair surgery and was worried about my ear not looking natural after the surgery. I have a very short haircut and could not afford any mistakes. Dr. Romano thoroughly explained to me what was going to happen and answered all of my questions. It's only been a week since my surgery and I couldn't be happier with the way my ear looks already. Did I mention the fact that I felt absolutely no pain throughout the whole process? Amazing!!! I highly recommend Dr. Romano to anyone needing a plastic surgery. This is the doctor you want!!! read more
