At this point, this review is pointless. I gathered he retired. He did my rhinoplasty many years ago in my twenties. I think it was roughly around 1998-99. Well, it settled into a disaster. First, I can't breathe properly out of my nose, and second my nostrils are different sizes one smaller than the other and the tip is very bullbous. Most upsetting, I have a piece of the graft that protrudes from the skin on the top of my nose that is noticeable. It will cost me probably triple to have it revised. He gave me about 6 months notice that they were closing & I'm so grateful I was able to see him before he retired. I'm a nurse practitioner, and I think I'm pretty good at choosing the best physicians for my care and Dr. Eshima is definitely one of the best at cosmetic surgery. He only performed facial surgery. He has the eye of an artist & is obviously a very skilled surgeon. I think he is also very detailed on your care for the first few weeks after the surgery. His entire team was extremely professional & they responded very quickly to any questions or concerns I had before & after my surgery. I had my neck & upper lids lifted 3 years ago (when I was 60 yo) and my profile photo was 7 months later. I hope you're enjoying your retirement, Dr. Eshima. It's been 2 1/2 years since my last update. I chose Dr. Eshima because of his association with the hospital. I had never been anesthetized so this was a large concern. My other was being disfigured. I am happy to say that I am fine and I'm not disfigured. There is a lot of pressure to review while you're still in recovery and before final results. NERVE DAMAGE! I have waited a sufficient amount of time for recovery and feel safe saying that I have permanent nerve damage. I rarely wear earrings anymore because its painful. I still feel tingling from my temples down to my ears. Fluid does not seem to drain from my head. When Covid ends, I will find a new surgeon to take a look and see if any of the damage can be reversed. The relaying of skin didn't provide lift, so I am still in need of lift which I will never do. My jowls still droop. The scars under my nose are very prominent. He left the stitches in for a few weeks so the skin puckered. We are in Covid, but after that I will do a bit of laser and hope to make them less dramatic. Same goes for the scars on either side of my eyelids. These are the major issues, there are plenty of smaller ones. The women in the office attempt to make it your fault calling you every day then scolding you for talking too much. I live in a home with my husband who is a tech guy and VERY quiet. We had only moved to this state one year prior so I didn't even have local friends to talk with. I work at home which enabled me to spend endless recovery time caring for my healing. There was NO fault on my part for recovery issues. I used the top recommended products for recovery as well as my general care. Something to think about... If a doctor has a web sight where they post before and afters, it is more likely those photos were people they worked on. If you're just shown before and afters in a room, whose to say those are real? Good Luck and trust those little hairs on the back of your neck. read more

I had my liposuction procedure with him where he left me lumpy throughout my abdomen - and took out fat down the middle of my stomach to create the look of abs (I didn't ask for this). I was scarred by meeting this doctor, I left his office in tears. My story has a beautiful ending though, thanks to another SF surgeon, please read on! I consulted with Dr. Eshima about getting a partial face-lift, upper eyes and lower eyes. His pitch was like a used car salesman, it was saturated in ego, it was fast-talky and didn't leave much room to question him, you are meant to listen. He had a portfolio of before and afters which - while impressive - were glibly and conceitedly tossed over to me on the other side of the desk like playing cards. This was accompanied by a very rote and scripted self-aggrandizing lecture, the takeaway intending to be to leave the potential client with the impression that he is the best surgeon to have ever graced this earth with his presence. It was extremely unprofessional. He taps into everything modern women can't stand about men like this, it was hard to stomach. Upon leaving that appointment, he encouraged me to come back if needed, to ask any remaining questions that might put my mind at ease. Despite intensely disliking him personally, I was admittedly super impressed by his before and after play deck - so much so, that I was about 90% sure I would go with him. I took him up on the offer to ask more questions - at the time I was 43, this surgery would be a major big deal, as was the $45k price tag.. yeah, I was going to take 20 more minutes of his time to ask a few more questions. When I came in for the second consultation, it was immediately clear before I even sat down: He was angry. Evidently, he DID NOT like that I was "questioning the master", that I needed any further convincing, it was as if I had offended him. I only had a few - very fair - remaining questions such as, "Do you have any technology that can simulate what my results might look like?" etc. He cut me off after my second question, interrupted me and said, "I don't think I'm the doctor for you" and ushered me out of his office, with disapproving glares from his staff. I was stunned. I started crying when I was still in his office, I didn't understand what I had done wrong and said so. He never answered me. Upon later reflection, the only thing I can come up with is that questioned him. It may also be that I don't fit his typical client profile: I'm relatively young. I'm gay. My partner is somewhat male-presenting and is younger than me, mid-30s - she was in the waiting with me each visit. I work in Tech. His typical client, as per his own description, is the much older housewife - often traveling to have surgery done by him from the midwest - and always upon the recommendation of a friend known personally. I suspect I may not have looked like I had the money? Or that I represented a demographic he doesn't get much business from and is afraid of: Techie (he doesn't even have a website - he's a technophobe and is clearly petrified of updating and needing to learn anything new, relying on his laurels). Gay. Progressive. Now for the beautiful ending! After I emotionally recovered, I went to see Dr. Ransom, who is consistently rated as highly as Dr. Eshima. What a difference!! His offices are stunningly modern, elegant, minimal and organized - you are immediately comforted that he is using the best technology available just by virtue of the look of his offices! Dr. Ransom had no sales pitch whatsoever; instead he was straightforward and affable, self-deprecating and likable, and answered all the questions I had honestly and clearly. I was smitten. I immediately booked the surgery. He sent a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to my house the next day. His after-care assistant Jill is absolutely phenomenal and has a tremendous amount to do with why my review is so glowing - she is a star!! Most important of course are the results: I am elated!!!! Perfection. I'm incredibly happy. All for about half the price of what Dr. Eshima was going to charge me. Dr. Eshima is dated, rude, ego-ridden and expensive - men like this are being phased out, and for good reason. Dr. Ransom is modern, kind, honest and extremely talented. Thank god he retired. I have received so many messages from other people who were blamed for his mistakes. My eyes still do not fully close after more than 10 years. The last thing I would have done is have him "fix" it. He had all these glowing reviews--maybe he was really good at some point. I think he just plain "lost it" after a while. And when he made a mistake he blamed the patient. I wrote a review about all this over 10 years ago and wish I had paid attention to messages from other people who had the same experience. Dr. Eshima likes to position himself as "the best". He charges more than just about every doctor out there and he's not shy about telling you that the reason is his results. Well, I'm a year post surgery and the results are awful! I originally came to him wanting to fix my droopy upper eyelids. He told me that at my age, I should also get my lowers done. There was nothing wrong with my lower eyelids - I didn't have bags under my eyes, there really wasn't loose skin, etc. But, he insisted that he's the expert and that I wouldn't be happy with the results unless I did both. Then, he also convinced me that I needed a lip lift, "you see how much space you have between your nose and your upper lip? That's very unattractive," Eshima said. So, I listened. He's the expert. Huh! Let's start with the eyes. The incisions on the upper eyelids are not even and after a year are still very visible. The incisions on the lower lids are good, but now I always have bags under my eyes. The least bit of pressure change (e.g. going to Lake Tahoe) and the lower lids get horribly puffy and I look like I've been in a boxing match. Onto the lip. The incision he made for the lips goes all the way around the nose. The incisions are crooked and clearly the sutures he did were not done well. On one side, between my nose and upper lip, he made the sutures too tight, so I have a huge bump from the skin being pulled too tight. The incisions on the corners of my nose were also not well done and the result is that I have gaps on both sides of my nose. There's just no way to cover this up with makeup. Both issues were apparent from the beginning and I kept coming every several weeks to see Eshima about it. His solution? Tretinoin cream. And, "yeah, it happens sometimes." He never once said, anything to give indication that there's anything wrong. Why? After months of coming to see him, he finally said something like, "well, let's wait and see. But if you need a revision, you'll start the healing process all over again, so you should really think twice about it." I regret having trusted my face to him. There are so many good surgeons in the Bay Area. Do your research. read more

After researching and interviewing multiple surgeons for 2 years, I chose Dr. Eshima to be my surgeon for a lower face and neck lift, and I am so happy that I found him! I have been to Dr. Eshima two times. I am going back for a 3rd. The first time was for upper blepharoplasty, the other time was for rhinoplasty. Dr. Eshima is a cultured, funny, class act. His medical care was thoughtful and thorough. One time I needed a doctor's opinion about a totally unrelated medical issue resulting from an accident. Because I trust him so much, I called Dr. Eshima. Dr. Eshima and his office worked tirelessly to get me the answers I needed, and to refer me to a specialist outside his practice. NOTHING to do with plastic surgery. Just a caring doctor who wanted to help. My eyes? Gorgeous. No one but my closest friends know anything other than I look young for my age. I'm 46. I should also say that my eyes were 'complicated'. Heavy Claudia Schiffer upper lids. I really like that heavy upper lid, Nordic look and he kept that look. Just reduced the skin so they looked fat and youthful. I had been to many surgeons (even Ivana Trumps!) to discuss my eyes. Some of the other surgeons ideas and suggestions were so scary. "You are going to look different! Be prepared! We are going to 'raise your eyebrows!" I thought I would never find a surgeon who would get the nice puffy upper eyelid, but Dr. Eshima got it. My nose? Again, perfect. I was born with a good nose, but over time I noticed it started to droop a little bit which is aging and also a little masculine for my taste. He did a very subtle correction and again, not even my family knows that I had anything done. When I look at my driver's liscense from 15 years ago, my nose looks the same. I had to write because of the one negative review. This person is correct, Dr. Eshima would never schedule a surgery without making sure the person has the correct expectations, outlook and mental stability necessary for cosmetic surgery, no matter how much money a person would throw at him. For Dr. Eshima, a 'deposit' would not be worth putting not only a patient, but his extensive staff and surgical staff in a compromising position. Can you imagine the danger it would put an entire surgical staff in to not have seen a patient prior to surgery? 6 MONTHS Post-Surgery UPDATE from LONDON,UK: OVERSEAS trip from LONDON, UK to SAN FRANCISCO, USA was ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!! I cannot believe that 6 months have passed since I had my upper blepharoplasty surgery with Dr. Issa Eshima in San Francisco last August. I had such a wonderful time when I stayed there for about 1 week immediately after my surgery. Magaly and Cathy took such good care of me; I still cannot forget how kind they were! In case anyone is thinking about travelling from abroad to San Francisco to do this surgery with the AMAZING DR.ESHIMA, I'd like to give you a personal overview of the healing process. I met some new people about 2 weeks after the surgery, and no one actually noticed that I had any eye surgery, which I thought was pretty amazing. I did have make-up on, but I was impressed to know that the swelling was almost gone by this time. The small scars on my eyelids were probably visible (but only up-close and without makeup) for the first 2-3 months, and then they began to heal very quickly after this period. If you put on eye make-up during this time, no one will notice! There was absolutely no pain throughout the entire healing process. ZERO PAIN!! In conclusion, my eyes look absolutely WONDERFUL today!! The fold looks very natural, and no one would be able to tell that I had been through some form of eye surgery. In fact, none of my close friends had recognised the change in my eyes until I told them! I also get complimented many times when I go out, which is a treat because I have never been complimented about my eyes before! One friend said to me, "you have gorgeous eyes!" I had to tell her all about Dr.Eshima!! So psychologically, the surgery has given me more confidence about myself. 2019 was the year my husband and I decided to turn back time, here is how it played out. I started my search for a cosmetic surgeon early 2019 when I noticed the bottom part of my face didn't look like the top part of my face. Jowls and excess skin under my chin was the main concern. I interviewed several surgeons in Southern California where I spend much of my time and noticed that none of them specialized in just face procedures. It was really important to me that the Dr I would choose is an expert in face procedures vs. cosmetic procedures on different parts of the body and also be board certified (American Board of Plastic Surgery). I was referred to Dr. Eshima by a friend of mine who works with a well known Esthetician here in SF and she said all her clients go to Dr. Eshima. I knew immediately after meeting Dr. Eshima I would be choosing him as my surgeon. He has an impressive resume and is very respected in the medical & cosmetic community (was Chief and Director of Plastic Surgery, UCSF/Stanford-Mount Zion). During my consultation I asked him about all aspects of my face and he did not sell me on additional procedures. The procedure itself (lower face-lift) went without a hitch, I had zero bruising to the shock of my friend who had the same procedure with a different Dr. who was severely bruised for nearly 3 weeks and couldn't go back to work as planned. I was out and about in public within the week, feeling great, didn't need to take one pain pill. I don't look pulled in anyway, I look like me but my profile is much improved and overall much more youthful. On a side note, my husband was terribly opposed to me getting cosmetic surgery, even though I am no stranger to cosmetic procedures, he was concerned about the risk and outcome and looking over done. To my surprise he has been very complimentary about the end result and how I look and how easy the healing process was, which prompted him to visit Dr. Eshima regarding his bags under his lower lids. Dr. Eshima is a gifted plastic surgeon. He is a perfectionist with an artist's eye. About 9 months ago, Dr. Eshima turned back the hands of time and greatly enhanced my appearance. He far exceeded my expectations especially with regard to sculpting a significantly improved chin and jaw line. I had previous cosmetic surgery that left me with a number of issues, particularly at the jaw line. So, I was looking for a plastic surgeon that concentrated only on facial work and who had the expertise and experience to deal with my issues. Though Seattle has excellent plastic surgeons, I was looking for a super specialist . I started my search by asking my world- renowned dermatologist who he would recommend. He said that Dr. Eshima is the only plastic surgeon that he would let touch his wife's face. Researching at various medical sites I learned that Dr. Eshima's credentials are first rate: Stanford undergrad-Phi Beta Kappa; UCSF Medical School; Castle Connolly's Top Doctors™ (2012); Top Doctor Plastic Surgeon (US News & World Report 2012) etc. I began making preliminary contact with Dr. Eshima's office and his staff was most helpful in providing me with more information concerning his background. I was also pleased to learn that Dr. Eshima only does facial cosmetic surgery. At my consult with Dr. Eshima, I was impressed with his dedication, energy and aesthetics. The many before and after photos he showed me revealed that he avoids the "done look" in favor of natural looking results. Dr. Eshima's results though went beyond rejuvenation to a significant enhancement of appearance. I was not surprised to learn that Dr. Eshima comes from a family accomplished in the arts as he definitely has a keen sense of beauty and balance. Dr. Eshima operates at St. Francis Hospital, a lovely private hospital across from his office. I was wowed by the facility and staff at St. Francis. Not only were the admissions people very helpful, but the nurses in the pre-surgery unit, Marjorie and Susan, were outstanding. Dr. Eshima has been wonderful about follow-ups and post-surgical questions. During my recovery period in SF, Magaly or Cathy called daily to confirm that I was progressing well. I did and the results are truly astonishing! I am a man, 71 years young, I live in Paris, France and I'm in good physical shape. What I saw in the mirror, I pretty much liked and accepted. What I didn't see clearly that bothered me was my profile. I had a rather large "turkey wattle" hanging from my neck that I really only saw in photographs, or reflections of my facial profile in a mirror. Seeing these images, I was truly shocked. That's not me! That can't be the way I look! Or wanted to look. Magaly, Dr. Eshima's super conscientious and wonderful office manager, gave me a large packet containing before and after photographs of various patients on whom Dr. Eshima's skilled hands had done his magic, and a wealth of information that answered every question that I could possibly think of pertaining to his services. After my meeting with Dr. Eshima I was 100 percent certain about whom I wanted to perform my cosmetic surgery. There was no doubt whatsoever and getting another opinion never entered my mind. I booked my surgery for January 2010. Five months before my cosmetic surgery, a package came from Dr. Eshima's office with thorough information on what I needed to do in preparation for my surgery and what to expect afterwards. Detailed information on hotels in San Francisco near the hospital and Dr. Eshiima's office was included. Everything you could possibly think of was clearly spelled out for out-of-town patients. Online, I had read a review by one of Dr. Eshima's patients that Mary Kay was one of the private nurses that he engaged. This person had requested Mary Kay for her private nurse the day of and the day following her surgery. Her care proved to be very helpful, not only to me, but also to my wife as Mary Kay instructed her on how to look after me. The follow-up on my surgery was amazing! Magaly, from Dr. Eshima's office called everyday, including weekends, to see how I was doing. She took her time explaining to my wife and me if there was something that needed to be done or if we had any questions at all about anything. There was never any rush. I always felt like I was Dr. Eshima's only patient and that my satisfaction and well-being were paramount. After the second day, I started taking walks on the street. Great surgeon, but be clear about your desired goal. I had a bletharoplasty with correction that came out great but took a couple years to really settle and is not exactly what I wanted. His skill and bedside manner are fantastic and his staff are really attentive. His goal was to make me look the same yet refreshed, but my whole look did wind up changing more than intended. The unwanted difference I see is due to the amount of fat he removed. He removed too much so now my eyelids don't always shut entirely and they scrunch unnaturally when I smile. They used to squint naturally but now they take on a semi-circle appearance. I think it's because removing the fat has exposed my browbone which has changed the way light hits my eye area. The stitches were expertly hidden so you can't see a scar, but the scar tissue underneath seems to prevent the edge of my eye from creasing along a straight line that extends from the outer edge of my eye to my hairline. It creates the appearance of more crows feet. I'd recommend bringing in photos of exactly what you want at every angle. There's only so much that's possible but you need to be clear about what kind of difference every fraction of a millimeter will make, how much of your browbone will show, where the light will now hit your eye area, and how the overall shape of your eye will be affected. read more

I am a medical doctor, a specialist and a former faculty at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Eshima was recommended to me by my former colleagues at UCSF. Dr. Eshima was indeed, Chief of Plastic Surgery at UCSF. His colleagues described him to me as an exceptionally talented surgeon and the very best in facial plastic surgery. I was told his patients travel to San Francisco from all United States and from around the world. When I met Dr. Eshima, it became quickly clear to me that I was going to have my surgery with him. Dr. Eshima & his team (Cathy & Magali with a PhD) are amazing! The results continue to get better & better with healing although you will see immediate results from day 1, with minimal to no bruising at that (thanks to his amazing technique!). I used to be in dentistry for many years & basic oral surgery will cause bruising & swelling so I was quite pleased with this being at a minimum for a much, much more complicated procedure. Buy a hand mirror if you don't yet own one because you will be using it alot to check out the results! It's been 3 months & I'm so glad my friend who is 82 & looks amazing recommended Dr. Eshima. His before & after photos are what sold me; some of his clients looked like mother/daughter but indeed were the same person. If you do any research on botched surgeries & complicated recoveries it can be very scary. He truly is an artist & it's apparent he loves what he does since he rarely takes vacations. Once I made the decision, I was immediately nervous since I've not had any type of surgery under anesthesia since my tonsils were removed as a kid. WHY DID YELP REMOVE MY REVIEW? PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE AGAIN Most of the other posts have addressed how amazing Dr Eshima's work is. I went to a well known Bay Area spa for thermolage to tighten my sagging 59 year old skin. They told me there was no chance it would work, I needed a face lift. Luckily, they told me they got to see lots of doctors work, and the one that did consistently beautiful, NATURAL work, was Dr Eshima. Full disclosure, he is going to be more expensive than the rest. However, in this case, you get what you pay for. Save money on everything BUT a facelift. Go to the best, get it done right. Dr Eshima is talented, warm, funny, a genuine nice guy with great patient rapport. I agree with all the other posters on their assessments of his surgical talents, so I thought I would share some of the reactions I have gotten on my "renewal".... I needed some new makeup at Nordstrom. The makeup artist was matching my foundation, and paused. She said "Can you tell me your daily cleansing and moisturizing regimen, your skin is gorgeous" I laughed out loud, and did not want to seem rude so I told her the 6 weeks ago I had a lower face lift. She was shocked. She told me she worked for 15 years in Boca Raton. She called it "home of the facelift". She said she would not have asked the question if she thought I had a facelift. She said mine was the only face in all her years that she could not tell and the best one she has ever seen. My co workers just look at me, and when they find me alone ask questions. "You look so beautiful" "you look 20 years younger" "You look so happy" I could go on and on...I tell them I lost some weight and had been exercising, some really push and to them I whisper, "If you must know I did some botox, shhhh" In some store a few days ago and the salesperson says "Miss, can I help you?" He was so close I looked around to see who he was talking to. LOL, he was talking to me....I've been a m'am for the last 20 years.... I go to ballroom dance at the junior college Friday nights. It is a mix of students and people in their late 50's and 60's, even a few in their 70's. I am not used to men talking to me much...I have spent the last 18 years immersed in my children's lives and working multiple jobs, doesn't leave much free time for socializing. Anyway one man who has been in my class for the last year, was dancing with me, and said "Did you cut your hair" (it was down and I thought a mess) so I said "yes" He said "Wow, it is so flattering, you look gorgeous" Just said "Thanks". Another man said, "That dress looks great on you" Mind you I have worn that dress before and no compliments..... Went to Salsa Halloween part at Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville (which by the way is a great, safe fun place to dance and learn)... Danced until I thought my feet would fall off. Partners of all ages, but, the compliments NEVER stopped. I got asked for my number more times than I have in my ENTIRE life. The compliments....my head was just swimming. I just want to pinch myself. So much fun. After the seven year divorce from Hell, life has begun again, and it's not good, it's great. Finally Dr Eshima's staff (Magaly and Cathy) are the best. I don't want to forget to mention that I also had a lip lift, the scar under my nose is so tiny and more teeth showing definitely are a component of looking more youthful. Greetings! I am a second time patient of Dr. Eshima's. 3 years ago, when I turned 41 I had an eyelift. Knowing how my family's eyes age, I truly had talked to surgeons for 10 years before settling on Dr. Eshima. (I had even interviewed Ivana Trump's surgeon!). It was extremely important to me that my full upper lids keep their full, sorta 'Claudia Schiffer' look. I did not want scary, carved out, tight eyes. I am a 51 year old woman who has never done any cosmetic procedure until now and I am not a movie star or anything close to being famous. Dr. Issa Eshima is one of the best decision I ever made next to marrying my husband. Dr. Eshima has improved the structure of my nose, transformed my droopy Asian eyes, reduced my chubby cheeks, and removed my saggy neck. After narrowing the procedures I wanted to get done, the search in finding a doctor was the most daunting process. I found lots of plastic surgeons, but they did everything from toes to noses. Through blogs and articles written about the elusive Dr. Eshima, I was able to determine he was no ordinary plastic surgeon. For one, he doesn't have a website or television infomercials about his services. Secondly, people who have written about him say he was fantastic and worth flying all the way from Russia, Dubai, Japan, and other far away countries. As for his reputation, he is known for performing on academy award winning actresses. Keep in mind, most of Dr. Eshima's patients are based on referrals, i.e. recommendations from other patients. He has no need or desire to advertise so I was calling to make an consultation appointment without a referral from another patient. Most plastic surgeons require a consultation fee, but Dr. Eshima does not charge the normal $150 fee because he does not need to live off of these fees. I decided to combine five small procedures together to reduce the anesthesia and hospital cost: liposuction my neck fat, buccal fat removal ( egg yolk volume of fat in each check) , rhinoplasty (reduce the wide nostril opening), inject Radiesse to create a bridge on the nose, and finally eye lift to remove the heavy lids sitting on my eyelashes. Magaly, Dr. Eshima's assistant, went through the preparations for my operation at St. Francis Hospital which is across from the office. A long check list of what to do and NOT do before and after the surgery was what created the best results in recovery besides the doctor's skill in the operating room. During the entire one week after the surgery, the two assistants Cathy and Magaly, would call to check up on my recovery. There were always questions big or small during this time period, so I was never alone. I loved to hear Magaly's voice assuring me that everything was going well. Dr. Issa Eshima did not make me look like a 25 year old. He made me look beautiful without looking artificial. My new eyes now have a natural crease, a result of his skill in creating a new recessed eyelid from my old saggy Asian eyes . My new nose has a natural bridge which was non-existent until Dr. Eshima injected Radiesse. To reduce my wide nasal passages, he narrowed them down. As a result, my new nose is proportioned to my face. Next to my new nose, my buccal fat in my chubby cheeks (common among asian people) was liposuctioned out from the inside of my mouth (BUCCAL FAT REMOVAL) through two very small incisions near my back molars which I absolutely could not feel! Wow! Finally, my excess neck fat was liposuctioned out through one tiny 1/4" hole under each ear lobe and one hole under the chin. All incisions healed very well in 11 days to the point where my friends all asked "Where are the stitches and scars?" The best compliment came from one friend that said "you look fresh, not stretched". I recommend interviewing other doctors before coming to Dr. Eshima to appreciate how good he is. He is not just a surgeon, he is an artist! Update: It has been three months now and the little swelling that I had, has gone down plus my face has softly transformed in the features of my eyes, cheeks, neck, and nose. My face looks elegantly and gracefully done, not jarring like some who get cosmetic procedures with that artificial appearance. There is nothing I regret except for the fact that I should have done this years ago. I had a chin augmentation with Dr Eshima back in Feb 2019 and have struggled with what to post for my review. Him and his staff are very warm and comforting people which is not what I experienced when having multiple consultations as well as multiple 2nd opinions after my surgery with Dr Eshima. He has a very impressive background and was extremely confident so I ultimately decided that I trusted him most with my surgery. While there are risks to any surgery, I was confident that I had no risk by choosing Dr Eshima. I waited for a few months after my surgery hoping for improvement but it never came. Part of my lower lip and half my chin is numb. I kept waiting for the implant to feel normal as I was told it would (by every surgeon I spoke to) and that never came either. After 1.5 years I asked Dr Eshima to remove it due to the numbness and constant discomfort in which he generously agreed to. He said he's never had this happen to one of his patients and he very genuinely felt bad about it. On a scale on 1-10 my discomfort is now about a 5 which is better than the 10 it was previously so I'm thankful for that but it depresses me that I took this step in the first place and had confidence with Dr Eshima which resulted in permanent damage. I was happy with how it looked post op but now that it's out I honestly can't figure out why I hated my original chin for so long in the first place. I'd give anything to go back in time and not have made the choice to have plastic surgery. PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST ! I have spent 4 years trying to find a surgen that could help me. Dr.Eshima is a Godsend, so special. I am 62 years old and have made some very serious mistakes in the past relating to surgical procedures. I was left with a very long upper lip and felt like a monkey. I was also left with little round eyes that had webs in the outer corners. I couldn't close my eyes to sleep for 3 1/2 years and had to spend over $150K for skin graphs to the eylids. I felt like a bad experiment. Dr. Eshima was the only surgen that would and could correct these mistakes. The procedure that made the greatest difference was the UPPER LIP SHORTENING. It has balanced the entire face. 2nd was the Canthopexy which corrected the webbing and droopy lower lids. I also had other procedures to correct overly raised brows and a lower facelift for the neck and to correct the jowls. I feel so fortunate to have been referred to him. I feel whole again and no longer embarrased to see old friends. My advice is to go to the BEST the first time, it will save you alot of money and you won't have to suffer as I have.
