Called Saturday morning, Billy said he was on my side of town and would stop by. Before he entered my home he saw I had a mask on, so he took a mask out of his pocket and put it on. I did not care if he wore a mask or not, but I appreciate the respect that gestures showed. He also had covers on his shoes. He was very informative explaining what my issues where and provided an affordable solution. I already knew my 18 year old system needed to be replaced. He had an iPad with pictures and charts of the entire process and emailed me all the documents I needed. I had another bid for installation of a Carrier 3 part a/c system that was maybe $800 cheaper. But they did not have a 10 year warranty on parts & labor or any of the other guarantees Air Star provides. Billy set me up for installation on Tuesday. Junior and the crew (5 men total) arrived on time at 9am and where finish by 1pm. We had slight miscommunication about which thermostat to install. Jarred returned to my home the next day to install the wi-fi touch screen thermostat I asked for. I love being able to control the a/c from my phone. 5 star experience in every aspect. Billy, Jarred and Junior & crew were all extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough from setup to clean up along with the lady who answered my call Tuesday evening after my install to address any issues I had. I purchased where they had installed the AC system two years ago. The initial phone call was less than impressive, but knowing that they did the installation and I thought everything had been done properly until now I wanted to get them back out to service it. She never asked for my name during the phone call, but did call the technician to see when he would be in my area and schedule the appointment between one and 3 PM tomorrow. I then immediately received two email confirmations, confirming the appointment and asking me to set up a new account. 20 minutes later I receive a phone call telling me that she is going to have to cancel the appointment because they are no longer taking new clients. I said even though you installed the unit two years ago for the previous owner of the house you will not come out and service it and she said no unfortunately they are not taking new clients. I should have gone with my gut feeling after talking to her on the phone the first time, knowing that she was not quite up to par with her knowledge or her professionalism. He had a replacement capacitor in the truck and just like that he was done in 10 minutes. I double checked to make sure cold air was blowing. My compressor is only 2 years old and so Tristan mentioned he should be able to get. It covered under warranty and credit me back the difference. They had a contract for 2 years of labor service In October when the temperatures started to fall, my heater was not working and did not warm up the house. The technician came in and replaced the zoning system and charged me an additional large amount. Even after that, the heater is not working. I have tried to follow up with their technician and their office to help get someone to come and fix the issue. I am not getting any response or help to resolve the issue I would give -1 rating to them if possible. With faulty installation from the beginning and not helping to fix or resolve the issue, it has been a nightmare to deal with this vendor.

However, after checking our AC system and completing preventing maintenance for a really fair fee, Jason concluded that our AC system is in very good condition and it was more Thermostat wrong messaging than the AC system itself. My wife and I were extremely appreciated and happy Jason's professionalism as AC Technician and most of all for his/their honestly. As a matter of fact there was a misunderstanding in the quote as I thought it included new ducts, but it did not. But James replaced for free due to the misunderstanding on my part. He did not have to do that because it was my mistake in communication. Prior to that I had 2 other hvac systems installed by another company. So I called that company that did the install to repair one. Within hours of repairing one hvac, the other failed. So I had to wait over the weekend for them to return to fix the hvac and on Monday my schedule. Then I decided to use Richmond Air for the repair. I only would be at my house from 8:30 to 10am due to a departing flight. I called Richmond Air at 7:30 AM on Monday to see if they could send someone to my house within the hour. The owner, James showed up with a staff member. So the other company's staff accidentally let out my Freon. James called the company and explained the mistake for me and arranged for them to replace my Freon for free. That is honestly and great customer service. He could have replaced the Freon and charged me, which is expensive and let me figure out the situation with the other company. So that deserves my business and yours. No qualms with the work quality or service, just wish the diagnostic/service-call pricing was made clearer up front.
