I was completely devastated that I'd lose all my files (I'm a musician and I do digital art) It did take them a while (a little over a month) but I knew there were 4 customers ahead of me and it was Christmas time during the pandemic. I patiently waited and I called every week to check up on the process which they were gladly taking my calls even though I was anxious that I was calling too much - they told me to call as many times as I needed to. When I finally got my laptop back, I was ecstatic to find out that they were able to save almost all of my files (no lost music or pictures)! Once I was able to determine the cause wasn't COVID but maybe some other virus I transported the carcass into Shasta Computer Repair but with little hope for resurrection. Daniel was able to diagnose the issue(s), apply life support and a transfusion and my computer was able to come home after only a weekend in hospice. They also do not do diagnostics after their work to make sure things work. The employee David asked for my son's pass code which is shady and security risk and also said I should not turn on "maintenance mode" which is for Samsung phones for security and privacy when getting repairs done. All of this has been super shady and dishonest. Then he lied saying he told me on the phone it was not official parts... which is a lie because he did not and the law still says it has to be in writing. Seems they have shady cons going on here. Another store down the street charges the exact price they charged me but for the official OEM parts! Do not appreciate having my time and money wasted.
