I took my 2017 Nissan Rouge into Dr. Brake today for a Brake Caliper repair. I had my rear brake rotors and pads replaced by a local car repair company. Let's just say they had "Tire" in their name. First, I want to state the Dr. Brake diagnosed the horrible install errors and fixed it at a very fair cost. It turned out the Brake Caliper was not faulty. The "Tire" P location used the wrong size of brake pads, had them installed incorrectly and this combination of errors had caused the brake caliper to become "loose" This caused a "clunking" sound when braking. I had taken it 3 times to the "Tire" P location for the "clunking" they had diagnosed it as a Brake Caliper issue and wanted hundreds of dollars to replace the Brake Calipers. Obviously this would not have fixed the issue, I would be going down a rabbit hole with no sight of actually fixing the issue. Don't even think about going anywhere else - CALL THESE GUYS and make an appointment. It may save you untold headaches and definitely will save you money. Best of all - YOU WILL GET HONEST REPAIR WITH INTEGRITY!!! David at Dr Brakes made me believe in possibility of honest people who do the right thing. He could have done more work on the car and charged me for the Calipers and the Pads. But, he didn't - Honesty and Integrity are PRICELESS. He has earned an entire families long term business. I had a very bad noise every time I hit my brakes so I took it here after I went to another place but they were out for the holidays. Lucky me, there's no sarcasm there. Turns out that all my brake pads were gone and all the rotors needed to be replaced as well. I thought I would had to divide the costs and come back another time but it didn't turned out that way. I thought this was a good place but I was completely WRONG! I dropped my car off here after being in an accident and when I came back to retrieve my car someone had smashed my car window and broken into my car. No one knew what happened and even though they have cameras the cameras supposedly "didn't catch anything!" Instead of the owner telling me that he would fix my window since the car was in his care he just brushed the situation off like it wasn't his problem! I even came back to try to speak with him again to get some sort of agreement or understanding and he wouldn't see me. Straight ignored me! I was furious!!! Needed to get a brake job done in a hurry - they were squeaking bloody murder... called around and Dr. Brakes said - "bring it over, we'll look at it and give you a quote, and do a job fast!". Brought the car over, Ilan (the manager) test-drove it, hoisted it up on the lift and gave his diagnosis - new rear pads & rotors for $250! (I was expecting at least twice that - from previous experiences in NYC). He estimated the job to take 1.5 hrs... and it was exactly that. He also checked our oil and told us that we still had life on that, so no reason to change at this point (unusual from a mechanic - they normally try to squeeze anything they can out of you). But my quote for $99 for ceramic sold me. Took the car in 1st thing on Sunday morning. Yes! He's open on Sundays. Score. One car ahead of me so he quoted me 1.5 hours. I walked over to the local casino- see my last review.. Played around for a while and gave the Dr 2 hours to complete the job. After returning to the mechanic he informed me the parts house sent him the wrong brakes and they were on their way with the new set- Minus 1. Read every magazine from 2008-2011 ( I know more about the 2011 Mustang than I ever did before) and finally got my car back. No surprises, no hidden fees. And the cars stops on a dime. Well lets start with the idea of leaving no stars. Terrible experiences. First off we paid $854.93 for a new AC and "sale" oil change. Well the AC stopped working in 1 and 1/2 months. On the paperwork and initial contact it clearly states we have 12 month warranty. We went over 5 times to the shop to have him take a look at the truck. He said you need to come at 8am and leave it. Im open Sunday after two weeks of going by and returning on a Sunday where they said o we cant get the part on Sundays. His mechanic said that so we off again and return for the 7th time on Monday at 7:50am. I have to explain to you how bad it was when the AC broke. There was smoke coming out the car and it was as a massive explosion was about to happen! BAD! Well on top of that $854.93 later we ran around with no AC for two weeks. Monday at 4pm He says the car will not be ready rent a car. Than he says I will need to buy another part and in order for me to complete the repair its going to cost another $400 talk about crook! So called warranty??? If anyone out there knows of a reliable and good mechanic please inbox me. It seems as every time I have to visit a shop it gets worse. But this guy was unbelievable rude and cold hearted. Go else where waste of time, money and real bad customer service. The one star that I had to give to put the Yelp review is going for the convenience of being in a good location to waste two days without a vehicle. 2 whole days! read more
