The Rockin Taco Festival in Chandler.
Stephanie M.

My boyfriend and I attended the Rockin Taco Festival. It was well organized and The Traveling Monk had the best tacos at the event we had his bacon tacos I have to honestly say I would give them 20 stars they were different but crazy good. We all know bacon can be a bit salty to begin with but the sauce on these little drops of heaven really complemented these tacos extremely well. There were lots of cool mexican merchandise to buy as well. Now down to my only complaint there was only 1 cooling station at this event and if Arizona is going to hold this event in 104 degree heat they really should provide more cooling stations since they were also selling alcohol. All in all we had a blast.

I came here early in the morning on a Saturday, and there was nobody here. Only a few people walking through and no kids! It was great! I think it is a little odd that the park is on both sides of the street, but I was able to find parking on the street. There seemed to be lots of street parking around the park on both sides of the street. The only think I did not like was that there were groups of men standing on the street corners of the park as if they were looking for work. Seemed a bit sketchy and odd.

Indian Art Market every October
Art B.

Not a typical public park. No playground. No grills. But that's fine. That's not the park's purpose. It is a fantastic community gathering place in the heart of downtown Chandler. SanTan Brewing and many other businesses are conveniently located nearby as well. We attend the Indian Art Market held here every October. It's a small event. A wide variety of Native American arts and crafts are available to purchase. Fry bread. Indian tacos. Entertainment. And the Miss Indian AZ contestants are always in attendance. The Dr. AJ Chandler Park is all about special events and it is perfectly suited for the Art Market.

Offers different signs to learn about wildlife and how to be safe. I came in early morning in mid-October and the weather was amazing. In the morning it was about 60 degrees. The park was active: people walking the trails, fishing, several people walking their dogs and there was a group of people with their dogs getting dog training classes. The park still offers plenty of space to enjoy your time outdoors.

Our favorite is going around the scenic loop around water, spotting the ducks, geese and the birds. There are so many exotic Birds specially during the spring, it's a sight. The wildflowers are beautiful and the large trees create a perfect canopy during the summer. We love biking and hiking too, this park has a cute little waterfall and is a favorite among photographers for shoots. There are programs offered in the community center for the kids for summer break and also activities with nature which is nice specially since it's involved with nature. There is also a nice display and tribute to the veterans with some installation arts. This place is worth a visit and wish there were some kids play structure to add to the beauty.

This park is wonderful! It's spacious with plenty of parking Great for picnics or family functions…read morelarge and small. The splash pad was my most favorite enjoyable enough for a 1 1/2 year old and myself as well. I got to be a kid again. We'll be back again and again!

There's also a scouting activity area that looked interesting and seems to be for scouting troops to have campfires and outdoor activities. Technically there's also a hummingbird garden but unless you parked in a specific spot or know where to look, you'd miss it as its small and tucked in a far corner. While small, it is nice (aside from the pile of cigarette butts some jrrk left) with some nice plants, a short walking path, and a water feature. It has a lot of desert plants but I was surprised not to see more spring flowers this time of year. The park is nice and the water seemed clean and not smelly, but I wish we had more areas of denser vegetation like the hummingbird area to walk around in. It does seem pretty well kept up and I noticed several newer desert willows growing. At 8 am on a spring Sunday, it was busy with people walking, fishing, at the playground, and doing tai Chi, but parking wasn't an issue.

Gilbert Regional Park is near my house and it's a great spot to workout, play, or relax…read more It features many sport courts- pickleball, tennis, volleyball and basketball. While there's a lot of pickleball courts, I've seen them full with a queue to play. I haven't seen this with the tennis courts or other sport courts. There's a playground with a play structure, swings, slides, a zip-line and more. It's on a hill so there's multiple levels to play on. There's a large splash pad for older children and a separate area for younger children, so less likely your toddler gets run over by a pre-teen not paying attention. The one drawback is there's not a lot of shady places to hide from the blistering summer sun. There's a large grass field but it's sloped and thus not useful for playing flag football or soccer. I believe it's built that way to watch performances at the pavilion. If there are flat grass fields at this park, I have yet to find them; they would be a welcome addition. At the end of the park there's a lake with a walking path around it. The largest ramada is on the lakefront and looks to 100-150 people. They have smaller ramadas around to rent as well. Overall, Gilbert Regional Park is a nice clean new park with many amenities. Everything is still in good working condition and there's a lot of open space where everyone isn't concentrated into a small area.

Very clean and so much fun!!…read more There's a toddler area and a big kid jungle gym. Also a fantastic splash pad that is fenced in. It gets really busy though. Go early in the morning to beat the crowds (I think we were there by 9, it got busy by 10).
