I first started bringing my four legged best friend Graham to Dozo when he was about four month old. I am a new dog mom so I was VERY nervous at first to leave him at any doggy daycare. But one day I had an appointment that I had to go to and couldn't leave Graham for that long. I brought him into to Dozo and they eased my anxieties immediately. The staff and owners are AMAZING. They are incredibly caring and treat Graham like he's their own pet. They send videos and pictures even when he is just there for a couple of hours! Also most importantly Graham LOVES going. The second he realizes we are heading in that direction he starts to run. He is always so happy to be there and I can't tell you how appreciative I am. I've recommended other friends to go and everyone has the same experience. Dozo dog takes every dog and their special quirks into consideration. They offer grooming services, private feedings and relief walks too! Not to mention they celebrate every holiday with the dogs and have incredible parties for the dogs in their community.

We have always used dozo for play days and some grooming when we are in town. We recently went on vacation and chose to drive to queens to drop these little ones off. They spent a week there including NYE and New Year's Day holidays. I couldn't ask for a better Group of people to take care of my pups. I don't really trust any other spot like I do dozo. They would update us hourly with pictures and videos of them. They would let us know when they ate and went for walks as well. They get to play with other dogs all day long before they have bedtime with each other in a very good open environment with caged partitions. They also have live cameras which makes it great to check in whenever you are slightly worried or missing your pups. They also have the best ventilation I've ever seen in a doggy daycare. They constantly clean up after the dogs so there is no lingering messes either. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of care they get as well. Honestly I couldn't be happier!! Can't wait to get the pups back there!
I've boarded my 8-year old chihuahua here for overnight stays about 5 times now, with his longest stay being about a week long! My dog is extremely fearful with new people and is not friendly with dogs. I was so nervous the first time we left him at dozo, because he had never been boarded before and we worried he would misbehave with his handlers or the other dogs. Within 12hours of dropping him off, we got reassurance that he was doing well in the form of pictures and videos of what he was up to, sent directly to our phones. We also were able to watch him on their 24hour cameras, which we love to do when we're on a trip and wondering what he's doing. One time, we even turned the camera on in time to see him being given 1:1 attention and kisses by one of the dozo employees. It was really sweet to see and not out of the ordinary for the animal lovers who work at dozo. We always see him getting a nice amount of individual attention that I'm not sure he could get anywhere else. They are very diligent about his vaccines being up to date and will not confirm a booking unless he's got everything he needs, which makes me even more comfortable leaving him here knowing that the rest of doggies are also held to that standard. They also sell great dog gear in the store which we love, and they are great about covering a range of sizes that we sometimes have a hard time finding elsewhere! We are so grateful we found dozo and plan to be long time loyal customers!!
Our dog Brody absolutely loves Dozo! In fact, he tries to drag me there on his walks daily! We have utilized Dozo for both daycare and boarding services. Yukako and Louis are extremely communicative and always make sure to send us adorable pictures every time Brody goes! They are quick to communicate if they notice that anything is amiss, and you can tell that they truly care about your dog's happiness and well-being. As a newer dog parent, I was nervous leaving him overnight. With Dozo's cameras and caring staff, I now see it as a little vacation for our boy! He absolutely loves it, and always comes home so tired from playing with his friends. Thank you for your love and care!
I have been taking my Colby here since they opened. I cannot recommend them enough. The owners Yukako and Louis are fantastic and have gone above and behind over the years to take care of him including giving him special attention right after being neutered so I was still able to leave him with them for the day. The staff is also incredible. They offer pick up and drop off services which has been a life saver due to my schedule, pictures sent throughout the day, you can check in on your pet with the cameras in the facility. I know I always feel safe and confident when he is going there for the day. We had tried other daycares on occasion but nothing compared. If you need day care, this is your place.

And as soon as I walk in, they greet you with a smile and a wave! Best doggy daycare, best staff, and the owners are so helpful and friendly! It is about a 20 min walk from where I live but it's so worth it because I know my dog is in the best hands when I leave him at Dozo Dog!
We are OBSESSED with this place! We used to live in Astoria, and send our puppy Pablo to daycare at Dozo Dog whenever he needed to be looked after. After moving to a new town we looked into other day care places, but nothing made us feel as comfortable as Dozo Dog! We'll still drive 20 minutes out of the way just to take him there because we know he'll feel comfortable and properly cared for. We recently went away for the weekend and it was our first time spending nights without him. Dozo made us feel so comfortable and addressed all of our concerns. They sent us pictures regularly, and they also have live cameras if we ever wanted to check in. Attached is a photo that the staff sent us of Pablo on his first night! He was nervous but they gave him the love and care that he needed. We highly recommend Dozo Dog for day care and boarding!
Where do I even begin? This place is amazing! We adopted a puppy from Texas who was scared of absolutely everything. A bag would blow in the wind and she would cower in a corner. Taking her to dozo dog completely changed her. She gained confidence, learned new manners and became a puppy full of happiness and energy. To say she loves dozo dog is an understatement! Now on our morning walks to dozo dog she basically wants to run there and jump in the room to start playing. The facility is kept beautiful and the entire team is great. So helpful and understanding. We really owe a lot to the team! Plus they have cameras so if you are ever nervous about your pup, you can check in and your worries will fade away. If you are looking for a daycare, look no further! WOW, am I happy to have Dozo Dog in the neighborhood!! Great pricing, great services, AMAZING owners - the most caring, compassionate, and personable couple. My dog is a GSD, and has always been rejected from boarding or puppy play areas due to size and for his status as an intact dog. I totally understand, and just figured that he would not have these opportunities. He was scheduled for a bath at Dozo Dog, and was given the chance to frolic for a few minutes with the other dogs in daycare while waiting his turn. I was shocked and elated, and so proud to see him having fun for the first time! It was literally like dropping him off at school in September. The bath was fantastic - the owner helped the groomer complete a thorough deshedding on their own volition, and asked me if I thought he was dry enough at the end. ALSO - the entirely online/texting system is so user friendly, so accessible, and so easy. Uploading his immunization documentation and corresponding with Dozo was soooooooo simple! 10/5 stars. Will be exploring daycare in the near future and definitely bringing him back for his next bath!
We came to Dozo for our puppers first cut. He's a 4 month old cavapoo and he needed a fresh cut for spring. Our appointment was for 9am however the dog ahead or ours was late for their appointment, which meant ours would be pushed back. We didn't mind as Kamijo (one of the owners) allowed Ralph to play with the other dogs in their daycare while we waited. Ralph's appointment started as soon as the other dog was done and I cant praise the groomer enough. Like I said this was our pups first time at the groomers so we were nervous. The groomer was gentle and patience with Ralph. Giving him affection when he was trembling. She was fantastic. The main reason we went with Dozo Dog for Ralph's first cut was the fact they allow you to watch. I had called a few places and noticed it was a common practice to not allow the pawrents to watch during the grooming process, which as a first time pawrent was a little disheartening. Well not at Dozo! We were able to watch the entire process. They have these big clear windows and it was so relieving knowing we were able to watch. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning. Four out of four paws, definitely recommend!
Leaving your dog overnight is never easy, and leaving him for a whole weekend is even harder. But knowing our pup Rocky is at Dozo Dog, surrounded by such kind and caring staff, makes it so much easier. There are times in life when you just can't have your best friend with you--as it was this past weekend, September 27, 2025, when his humans got married. We dropped Rocky off on Friday, and the staff even snapped a picture of him in his "My humans are getting married" bandanna, which was so thoughtful. One of the best parts of Dozo Dog is the comfort of being able to log into their cameras at any time. Throughout the day, I got snapshots of Rocky running and playing with his doggy friends, and before bedtime, they even sent me a "good night" photo. Knowing I could check in anytime gave me such peace of mind. Rocky has also been groomed here several times, and Amanda always does an amazing job--sometimes he comes home with a bowtie, sometimes with a bandanna, but always happy, and that's what truly matters. Over the summer, we even went to their pool party, which was an absolute blast--watching Rocky jump in and out of the pool with his friends was pure joy. Dozo Dog is more than just a daycare and grooming spot; it's a place filled with love, joy, and genuine care for every pup. I highly recommend it to anyone in the Astoria or Long Island City area. read more

Grooming at Dozo Dog- I have been going to Dozo Dog for grooming since my puppies were young. Initially the groomer Jenn was great with the puppies. She was a wiz with teddy bear cuts! However after Jenn left Dozo, we began working with Amanda and she is great! She seems to take really good care of my puppies, and they smell and look awesome! I will continue to go to Amanda at the Dozo Dog office in Astoria. It's been about 2 years now and I trust them with bathing and grooming my fur babies! read more

It's been almost a year I decided to give Dozo dog a chance and took my dog Morita for grooming best decision!! Staff are amazing and helpful Morita has been groomed in Astoria location and Long Island both groomers are amazing and patient with Morita since she is not very friendly and shy when getting groomed. This is the friendliest most loving staff I've ever experienced with a doggy daycare. I bring my dog here a lot more than I ever thought I would because it is such a comfortable environment for my dog to be around while I am working. I even boarded my dog With Dozo while I was on vacation for about 10 days. They kept me updated daily and even sent me pictures to keep me worry free. If you take your dog to any daycare I would recommend you try this place out at least once and see the difference. I am the happiest customer and will always bring my pets here KONA (French bulldog) LOVES DOZO DOG And she loves her mani/pedicures on saturdays when she goes for grooming!!!! SCOOBY (Akita) LOVES DOZO DOG I RECCOMEND DOZO DOG TO ANYONE WITH A DOG OF ANY AGE AND BREED. Don't just take my word for it.. bring your dog once and you'll feel the difference. Dozo Dog is a great addition to the neighborhood! Super friendly staff that really cares for your dog. The space is very clean and large enough for your pet to run around in and not feel confined. It's also located in an awesome location!! We've taken our dog Benson for a bath and a half day session. They even took the time to send us pictures of Benson throughout the time they had him. After his bath he came out super fluffy, soft and clean. They make sure to introduce your pup to the other pups that may be there the proper way to make sure all pups get along. Checking in on him during his half day and seeing him play with the other dog that was there was such a great feeling. They also have security cameras that you can access from an app on your phone which provides you with that extra reassurance that your pup is in great hands! We're thrilled to have them in the neighborhood! read more

Dozo Dog is an exception doggie daycare. The owners genuinely caRe about the well being of your pup. It shows as they instruct and teach their staff to do the same. Everyone at Dozo Dog are loving canine folks who be will treat your pup as one of their own. We have a 78lb pandemic mix lab pup. Who is a gentle giant. They took her and loved her from the moment they meet her. The facilities are extremely clean and are keep with extra extra care! They are reasonably priced and have super handy website and app for simplicity and convenience. We will never go anywhere else! Our Gracie loves going to play all day! Your pup will too! read more

Dozo is a fantastic doggy daycare facility with friendly, courteous staff. The dog play area is spotless. I appreciate this because Mia never comes home smelling like a stinky dog, and she's not dirty. We love having the option to check on our pup by using the camera feature they offer when you make a reservation. The Dozo team sends pics of our dog throughout the day. We know she's in great hands when we need someone to look after her. If you're looking for a top-notch daycare facility for your dog, definitely check out Dozo! read more

We have a two year old Doberman and he absolutely loves going to Dozo! He started off shy, but has grown so much and made many new friends! The staff and owners are absolutely amazing and caring towards ALL the dogs. We love getting photos throughout the day and getting to watch on their camera feed. They take such care in making sure dogs play well together, the facilities are fun, clean, and safe! We especially love their special events! We've had our dog go to their pool party (which was super fun!) and were even surprised with some St.Patrick's Day photos! We've also had him board overnight multiple times. They gave him so much space and attention to make him very comfortable. They give him private feedings and always ensure he as water and any toys we give him. We love getting videos of them playing even after hours! We absolutely love Dozo Dog and thank them for the amazing care they give our dog all the time!! Dozo dog has helped us so much since we got Kano during COVID times. They have really taken to him and helped him socialize as well as groomed him and we are always happy to have him board. The trainers are fantastic too. We get updates throughout the time he's there! 5 stars all day everyday. Glad to see they are expanding too! read more

From the first day our Phineas attended Dozo, he has always looked forward to coming straight back for daycare. In fact, when we pull up on Dozo's block now, he will whimper and bark excitedly to get into play mode! (Who taught you that, Phineas?) I've waited to review Dozo Dog because of two things- we wanted to get him groomed, and also we and Phineas were all too tired to even remembering turning Yelp on to review. When Phineas started growing bigger and faster into his current 30 lb self, we realized we couldn't take him everywhere and anywhere with us. A dog trainer friend of mine had advised Phineas needed social dog playtime in order to fix his bad behavior of using us (his pawrents) as doggy playmates! I chose Dozo based off of Google & Yelp reviews, and asked a million and one questions before making a reservation. I ended up booking a half daycare session for him to start off with on their self-service app. Dozo Dog provides transparency, in which they will give you pupdates, and you are able to access their live webcams to watch your dog. After the first day and the pupdates, I didn't need to turn on the webcam. Both Yukako and Louis are amazing managers- they are heavily involved from day 1 in making sure Phineas was introduced properly, and that all dogs were supervised. The workers are great too, and I've seen them care and clean up any accidents as soon as it happens in the play area. They explained to me that Dozo is basically a doggy school for them! When we picked Phineas up from his first day, he was sooo tired, that he didn't make a peep in the car! We then booked his first grooming session yesterday with Tatiana, whom has doodle experience. Phineas is an F1B Miniature Goldendoodle with the curliest coat. He is getting neutered soon, so we asked Tatiana to clean him up before then since we won't be able to bathe him. She touched, assessed his coat, and evaluated Phineas and told us what she can and can't do up front. She even told us that he had the most high maintenance of doodle coats, but it was also a very beautiful coat. If he was matted, he would've had to have been shaved. She was also very honest in letting us know if we wanted him to be cut, it may not come out even since this would be his first grooming session. We all weren't sure how he would do on the grooming table for the first time, since he was already tricked into getting groomed instead of playtime! Yukako told us it would take about 2 hours depending on how Phineas does, and that Tatiana would take her time to slowly introduce and acclimate him to these new, industrial size grooming tools. When we came back, we got the big reveal. I thought they gave us a different, cute, new, softer puppy! Both Yukako and Tatiana told us he was nervous at first, but that he was very sweet and did so good on the grooming table for his first time! (Remember, desensitization is also training!) He came out as a brand new, handsome boy. We would tell Tatiana was very very thorough with him, because he was so clean at every inch of him. We are super delighted to recommend Dozo Dog to any pawrent looking to have their pup well taken care of, or even groomed very nicely. They've become our choice of daycare! read more

This review is for Dozo Dog's daycare services. -- I cannot express enough how much I LOVE dozo dog... I work long hours some days and I go to school, I can really depend on dozo dog with my Charley and I rest assured knowing they'll take good care of him. He's always so eager to go in and when he leaves he's ready for a looooong rest. So perfect for days where I need to run errands or am busy even after I get home from work. Dozo dog is so reliable and accommodating! They send me pictures and video updates throughout the day and Charley is always having a ball. They also have a HD video cam in various perspectives so you'll always be able to check on your pup... but with the updates I get from them I never feel the need to! The facility is clean and they've always got a pair of eyes or two watching the dogs so you can count on them to keep everyone out of trouble! Yukako and Louis (owners) are so kind and thorough. They answered all my questions before I decided to make my first reservation with them. They also ensure ALL dogs are up to date on vaccinations so there's no need to worry about your dog getting sick. Did I also mention their prices are extremely reasonable!! They do daycare services for 2 hours, half day (6 hours) and full day (12 hours) They're located conveniently right by the Astoria Blvd N train, so I can drop Charley off early and hop on the train to work. No more feeling bad for leaving your dog at home alone, Dozo dog is here for you!! read more

How does feeding time work for dogs staying overnight? My dog sometimes needs to be coaxed into eating, so I am curious if we can pick out times he needs to eat or how that all works.
