There are times in life when you just can't have your best friend with you--as it was this past weekend, September 27, 2025, when his humans got married. We dropped Rocky off on Friday, and the staff even snapped a picture of him in his "My humans are getting married" bandanna, which was so thoughtful. One of the best parts of Dozo Dog is the comfort of being able to log into their cameras at any time. Throughout the day, I got snapshots of Rocky running and playing with his doggy friends, and before bedtime, they even sent me a "good night" photo. Knowing I could check in anytime gave me such peace of mind. Rocky has also been groomed here several times, and Amanda always does an amazing job--sometimes he comes home with a bowtie, sometimes with a bandanna, but always happy, and that's what truly matters. Over the summer, we even went to their pool party, which was an absolute blast--watching Rocky jump in and out of the pool with his friends was pure joy. Dozo Dog is more than just a daycare and grooming spot; it's a place filled with love, joy, and genuine care for every pup. Grooming at Dozo Dog- I have been going to Dozo Dog for grooming since my puppies were young. Initially the groomer Jenn was great with the puppies. She was a wiz with teddy bear cuts! However after Jenn left Dozo, we began working with Amanda and she is great! She seems to take really good care of my puppies, and they smell and look awesome! Very disappointing first visit. Unfortunately my normal spot Pooches recently closed down. I figured it would be a good opportunity to try this new place Dozo because it is right across the street from my building. Took my vaccination documents and went over to make a reservation for next week. Unfortunately they didn't have any openings until the first week of June. Even though this is later than I wanted I figured ok. Going over my documents the manager saw all were still valid. So I wanted to make a reservation. She then notice that the rabies document I received like 3 years ago though still valid lacked the batch number of the vaccine the vet used. She told me how to get the info but would not let me make a reservation to hold a spot for grooming. I replied why not you know I have the documents and you can cancel the reservation long before the date if I don't provide the batch number in a couple of days. They refused to make an accommodation which would have risked them nothing nor cost them nothing. This inability to accommodate a new customer baffled me. This level of poor customer service doesn't make me feel comfortable enough to leave my little dog in their care. What has happened to customer service these days. Very disappointed. I first started bringing my four legged best friend Graham to Dozo when he was about four month old. I am a new dog mom so I was VERY nervous at first to leave him at any doggy daycare. But one day I had an appointment that I had to go to and couldn't leave Graham for that long. I brought him into to Dozo and they eased my anxieties immediately. The staff and owners are AMAZING. They are incredibly caring and treat Graham like he's their own pet. They send videos and pictures even when he is just there for a couple of hours! Also most importantly Graham LOVES going. The second he realizes we are heading in that direction he starts to run. He is always so happy to be there and I can't tell you how appreciative I am. The next couple times were fine. ( my dog won't potty inside) so I have to pay an extra fee to take him on a relief walk which seems crazy to me as they are the most expensive daycare in the neighborhood and offer nothing special. We have always used dozo for play days and some grooming when we are in town. We recently went on vacation and chose to drive to queens to drop these little ones off. They spent a week there including NYE and New Year's Day holidays. I couldn't ask for a better Group of people to take care of my pups. I don't really trust any other spot like I do dozo. They would update us hourly with pictures and videos of them. They would let us know when they ate and went for walks as well. They get to play with other dogs all day long before they have bedtime with each other in a very good open environment with caged partitions. They also have live cameras which makes it great to check in whenever you are slightly worried or missing your pups. They also have the best ventilation I've ever seen in a doggy daycare. I've boarded my 8-year old chihuahua here for overnight stays about 5 times now, with his longest stay being about a week long! My dog is extremely fearful with new people and is not friendly with dogs. I was so nervous the first time we left him at dozo, because he had never been boarded before and we worried he would misbehave with his handlers or the other dogs. Within 12hours of dropping him off, we got reassurance that he was doing well in the form of pictures and videos of what he was up to, sent directly to our phones. We also were able to watch him on their 24hour cameras, which we love to do when we're on a trip and wondering what he's doing. One time, we even turned the camera on in time to see him being given 1:1 attention and kisses by one of the dozo employees. It was really sweet to see and not out of the ordinary for the animal lovers who work at dozo. We always see him getting a nice amount of individual attention that I'm not sure he could get anywhere else. They are very diligent about his vaccines being up to date and will not confirm a booking unless he's got everything he needs, which makes me even more comfortable leaving him here knowing that the rest of doggies are also held to that standard. They also sell great dog gear in the store which we love, and they are great about covering a range of sizes that we sometimes have a hard time finding elsewhere! The owners Yukako and Louis are fantastic and have gone above and behind over the years to take care of him including giving him special attention right after being neutered so I was still able to leave him with them for the day. We are OBSESSED with this place! We used to live in Astoria, and send our puppy Pablo to daycare at Dozo Dog whenever he needed to be looked after. After moving to a new town we looked into other day care places, but nothing made us feel as comfortable as Dozo Dog! They finally have grooming services! I couldn't wait to take Toby here for a full service groom. As soon as I walked in the groomer introduced herself and asked what kind of haircut I wanted for my dog. I love the fact that I can actually speak to the groomer so I can tell them what kind of style to cut and let her know any extra details about my dog. Similar to the rest of the staff, Jennifer was extremely sweet and kind. My dog loved her and was excited to get groomed (he normally hates grooming since he's afraid of water). I let her know that Toby had an inflamed paw and she assured me that she would be gentle and make sure he felt comfortable through the grooming process. I loved Toby's haircut! Everything was neat, tidy, and smoothed out. It definitely shows that she took her time with him and made him look as great as possible. The grooming process was about an hour and 45 minutes so it was pretty quick too! I cannot wait to bring Toby here for daycare AND grooming! read more

WOW, am I happy to have Dozo Dog in the neighborhood!! Great pricing, great services, AMAZING owners - the most caring, compassionate, and personable couple. My dog is a GSD, and has always been rejected from boarding or puppy play areas due to size and for his status as an intact dog. I totally understand, and just figured that he would not have these opportunities. He was scheduled for a bath at Dozo Dog, and was given the chance to frolic for a few minutes with the other dogs in daycare while waiting his turn. I was shocked and elated, and so proud to see him having fun for the first time! It was literally like dropping him off at school in September. The bath was fantastic - the owner helped the groomer complete a thorough deshedding on their own volition, and asked me if I thought he was dry enough at the end. ALSO - the entirely online/texting system is so user friendly, so accessible, and so easy. Uploading his immunization documentation and corresponding with Dozo was soooooooo simple! 10/5 stars. The main reason we went with Dozo Dog for Ralph's first cut was the fact they allow you to watch. I had called a few places and noticed it was a common practice to not allow the pawrents to watch during the grooming process, which as a first time pawrent was a little disheartening. Well not at Dozo! We were able to watch the entire process. They have these big clear windows and it was so relieving knowing we were able to watch. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. From the first day our Phineas attended Dozo, he has always looked forward to coming straight back for daycare. In fact, when we pull up on Dozo's block now, he will whimper and bark excitedly to get into play mode! (Who taught you that, Phineas?) I've waited to review Dozo Dog because of two things- we wanted to get him groomed, and also we and Phineas were all too tired to even remembering turning Yelp on to review. When Phineas started growing bigger and faster into his current 30 lb self, we realized we couldn't take him everywhere and anywhere with us. A dog trainer friend of mine had advised Phineas needed social dog playtime in order to fix his bad behavior of using us (his pawrents) as doggy playmates! I chose Dozo based off of Google & Yelp reviews, and asked a million and one questions before making a reservation. I ended up booking a half daycare session for him to start off with on their self-service app. Dozo Dog provides transparency, in which they will give you pupdates, and you are able to access their live webcams to watch your dog. After the first day and the pupdates, I didn't need to turn on the webcam. Both Yukako and Louis are amazing managers- they are heavily involved from day 1 in making sure Phineas was introduced properly, and that all dogs were supervised. The workers are great too, and I've seen them care and clean up any accidents as soon as it happens in the play area. They explained to me that Dozo is basically a doggy school for them! When we picked Phineas up from his first day, he was sooo tired, that he didn't make a peep in the car! We then booked his first grooming session yesterday with Tatiana, whom has doodle experience. Phineas is an F1B Miniature Goldendoodle with the curliest coat. He is getting neutered soon, so we asked Tatiana to clean him up before then since we won't be able to bathe him. She touched, assessed his coat, and evaluated Phineas and told us what she can and can't do up front. She even told us that he had the most high maintenance of doodle coats, but it was also a very beautiful coat. If he was matted, he would've had to have been shaved. She was also very honest in letting us know if we wanted him to be cut, it may not come out even since this would be his first grooming session. We all weren't sure how he would do on the grooming table for the first time, since he was already tricked into getting groomed instead of playtime! Yukako told us it would take about 2 hours depending on how Phineas does, and that Tatiana would take her time to slowly introduce and acclimate him to these new, industrial size grooming tools. When we came back, we got the big reveal. I thought they gave us a different, cute, new, softer puppy! Both Yukako and Tatiana told us he was nervous at first, but that he was very sweet and did so good on the grooming table for his first time! (Remember, desensitization is also training!) He came out as a brand new, handsome boy. We would tell Tatiana was very very thorough with him, because he was so clean at every inch of him. We are super delighted to recommend Dozo Dog to any pawrent looking to have their pup well taken care of, or even groomed very nicely. They've become our choice of daycare! read more

I work long hours some days and I go to school, I can really depend on dozo dog with my Charley and I rest assured knowing they'll take good care of him. He's always so eager to go in and when he leaves he's ready for a looooong rest. So perfect for days where I need to run errands or am busy even after I get home from work. Dozo dog is so reliable and accommodating! They send me pictures and video updates throughout the day and Charley is always having a ball. I have left my 6 month old puppy here various times both for overnight boarding and daycare. He loves it! As soon as he enters he gets super excited to see the owners, the workers ans the other dogs. They have taken great care of him even going to the extwnt of hand feeding him when he gets stubborn and doesnt want to eat on his own. The owner and workers stay in constant contact with me sending me videos of him playing along with cute pictures of him and the other pups. We have also used their grooming services for a nail trim and they were sensitive to the fact it was his first time. They were kind and gentle with him and he was done in less than 10 mins. I have used other day cares and other boarding facilities in the past with my previous dog and Dozo Dog is by far the best. The establishment is clean and the sleeping area is also clean. They treat the dogs as if they were their own. Their prices are reasonable and their hours are great too. This is long overdue but better late than never! Bare with me as it's going to be long but you'll want to read it. Dozo Dog has been a blessing in my life. My 5 yo boxer baby suffers from separation anxiety and is picky with dogs after he was attacked at the dog park a few years ago, which in turn made me paranoid and I stopped letting him meet other dogs - probably a big mistake. I stumbled upon Dozo Dog 3 months ago and stepped in to take a look, not realizing that I'd be back with my puppers. The owners Yukako & Louis are probably some of the best people I've met. They love what they do and it shows! They care about every dog that walks in there without discrimination which in my opinion is the hardest to come by. They listened to the issues my dog had and agreed to take baby steps with him, which is the best thing that could've happened to him. He's the happiest when he sees them and truth be told is obsessed with them. I also home boarded him for a week while I was away! Dozo Dog makes it easy for me to trust them because they're transparent about everything. Another thing I like about the daycare is the access to the cameras. Since I'm paranoid, I feel at ease knowing I can watch him live - something which most places don't offer! I highly highly recommend Dozo Dog for all your pet needs! You won't be disappointed!!! P.S - I'm appalled at the negative review that's been written on here. Yukako & Louis have been nothing but honest about everything that's been going on at the daycare so anyone is saying otherwise is being malicious for their own agenda. read more

Yukako and Louis put so much love and care into their business. I take my dog there for fullday day care and she loves it. The interaction, the space to play, and the attention she wouldn't receive at home alone makes a huge difference in her spirit and energy levels. They treat her as their own and send me daily photo and video updates. They take all dogs no matter what condition or disability and make sure that all dogs are safe in the process. If your dog is not fixed, they will keep it separate in the SECOND play space until your dog is able to play with others. Same with behavior issues to the best of their ability. They have a website to do all their scheduling. They will confirm and verify all necessary vaccinations prior to allowing your dog near other dogs. Their website will even alert you when your vaccines are about to expire! It's a fantastic reminder to ensure you are keeping your pet and those around them safe. For anyone complaining about scratches after daycare-- have you seen dogs play?? Of course they will come home with a few scratches and nicks, that's how dogs play! They run, jump, tackle, and hump each other! It's part of socializing! Your fur baby is inclined to get the same injuries as children at daycare who can come home with cuts and bruises. Or on a playground. Don't be an idiot. It's not a sign of poor care or lack of attentiveness on the staff.
