I have a 4.5 month old Frenchie named Rufus who just had his boarding and daycare trial. We also had a different trial the previous week at another neighborhood doggie daycare. While that experience was good, the care and feedback I received from Arnold at NY Tails was a different level. When I picked him up and asked how it went, I got such a nice overview of his time spent there, and how he was with the other dogs. He even noticed silly personality quirks of his. And most importantly, Rufus seemed really happy when I picked him up! I totally understand why this place has a waitlist for daycare, the attention and love the pups get is unmatched! They are a small, "Mom and Pop" family feeling daycare (in the owner's apartment building) with an outdoor patio that you can't beat! I recommend this daycare to EVERYONE. Why? Easy booking, extremely friendly and engaging staff, kind owners, and they are ON TOP of their dogs. Once you join, you are invited for a Trial, and if passed, they set you up on a GroupMe Chat. Here they update you on vaccines/shot updates and it's where you can communicate 24/7 while your dog is in boarding. While there are no cameras on site, do not be concerned - they will send you updates on GroupMe of your pups playing with other dogs, videos, or napping. You can also follow their NYTAILS instagram account for Live updates-I love watching Brooklyn and Mocha (my pups) playing while Mom is outta town. NY Tails has been reliable in providing visits for my cat for almost a year now. The employees who stop by tend to send pictures of my cat in a group chat when they visit (every pet owner's favorite) and provide a brief status update. I feel comfortable going away knowing someone is checking up on her. There was an issue with the NY Tails payment portal where the total charge it stated for requested services was not matching the amount I was actually being invoiced which was greater in several cases. Upon flagging this, Jessica, one of the coordinators, was exceedingly responsive and helpful in addressing the concern. The payment portal has now been updated to reflect accurate pricing details. I really appreciated how receptive NY Tails was to my feedback and how quick the team was to address it. Great customer service! It's worth taking note of the website to be aware of additional charges that may be applied for early/late and weekend visits. These are very clearly stated on the website, but don't appear on the payment portal/may not be factored into final pricing. It's also worth noting that, at least for cat visits, visit times are structured within a 4-hour timeframe (to allow flexibility for the person visiting to work the visit into their schedule). The 4-hour time period begins 2 hours before and ends 2 hours after the time you select for the visit within the payment portal (Dotimely). For instance, if you select 9am, the person visiting may come any time between 7-11am. This isn't very clearly stated, so it's worth taking note of this to avoid any charges that apply for visits before 9am and after 6pm. read more

We had a truly amazing experience with NYTails. We have used them for almost 4 years and have nothing but good things to say about the organization and their care of our dog. In particular, our walker Pronthip was head over heels better than anything we could have expected. Her communication, care, and general kindness were exceptional. Pronthip looked after our rescue pup who was head over heels to see her for every walk. We had to move out of NY for work, and saying goodbye to Pronthip and NYTails was the hardest part of leaving the city. They are an amazing service who took incredible care of our dog. I adore the whole team at NY Tails and so does my dog! I'm a first time dog owner and was pretty nervous about entrusting Chipwich to someone new, but the NY Tails team blew me away! They adore Chipwich and Chipwich adores them - from our regular walkers to the team at day care and boarding we've had a wonderful experience. They are responsible, communicative, friendly and enthusiastic - they treat Chipwich like their own dog. The prices are affordable too! Whenever someone from NY Tails is at the door or we're at the daycare, my very very attached dog who usually doesn't leave my side runs away without a second glance because he loves the NY Tails team so much. Chip always comes home from his walks with a big smile on his face. The day care and boarding has a big backyard area for the pups to play in and they have round the clock supervision. I also really liked that they don't crate the pups at night - they sleep in dog beds. I can't recommend them enough - we are moving away and we'll be hard pressed to find another walker/day care like NY Tails. read more

I have reviewed NY Tails in the past, but after using them for 3+ years (and counting) I wanted to post another review. They continue to be phenomenal. In particular, our daily walker, Pronthip, is fantastic. I truly can't say enough great things about her. She has walked Juniper five times a week, rain or shine, for three years. I trust her completely, and it's so nice to have the same walker everyday. My dog adores her more than just about anyone, and Pronthip seems to genuinely love her job and the dogs. Juniper has some quirks, which Pronthip manages with so much kindness. Also really love their scheduling system and the pics we get from Pronthip. We feel so lucky to have found NY Tails and would recommend it to anyone. read more

I have been working with NY tails for over 5 years! They have walked all 3 of my dogs and each was at a different life stage. I first started with them when I had a 15 year old Maltese and 12 year old lab. Their walker Anton was the BEST! He was always so careful with the 15 year old blind Maltese. He also took amazing care of my 12 year old lab. In the end, he needed a doggy stroller, harness and assistance to walk and Anton provided such loving care to him. I came back to NY tails with a new puppy shortly after my older lab passed. They were always prompt with walk times and very consistent with the care they provided. Even when adding a walk last minute or on the weekends, their walkers were available, professional, and well trained. The husband and wife Team (Kira and Paulo) are AWESOME. Paulo trains all the walkers and so you know your dog is have a safe, enjoyable walk. Their email alert to let you know when the walk starts and ends is very useful and they even let you know if your pup went pee or poop. They have gone above and beyond for my animals and I. On one occasion my poor puppy had explosive diarrhea and made a huge mess. Paulo called me and told me, not to worry that he would clean it all up. When I got home, the apt was clean and there was no trace of the explosive diarrhea. After 5 years with these walkers, I can honestly say you can't go wrong with NY tails. :) read more

I live a block away so this daycare would have been the dream set up for my small dog. The pros are - he "seemed" to have a great time on his visit (from photos) but the downside is the 5 different ways you need to communicate with this business (email/GroupMe/DoTimely/text/phone). You will often be scolded- for using the wrong method. Their office is closed on the weekend, so you can't reach anyone to cancel an appointment (if you are new you don't know the app fully.) I tried so many ways to cancel a Sunday Appt when my daughter was in the hospital; but they charged me anyway. Good luck to you guys. read more

THE WORST!! Stay away. The staff ignores the dogs. The staff hits the dogs. The dogs are left outside alone no supervision. The dogs are outside for 15 mins a day. The dogs are neglected constantly. The staff yells at the dogs constantly. The dogs are sprayed in the face with water to make them stop barking. The dogs bark constantly because they are neglected. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is not an organization that you should entrust your pet to. My neighbor saw the dog walker take my dog outside, stand in front of my building for 3 minutes and bring my dog back up to my apartment. They will change dog walkers without notice and charge you if your dog doesn't want to be leashed by a total stranger. They will change private walks to group walks without notice or permission. I had them board my dog for a couple of nights and she acts like she has PTSD from a war whenever we walk by the building. SHADY SHADY company and I truly hope you don't use them and they go out of business. read more

We used NY Tails with our dog Sadie from the day we adopted her at 7 weeks old until just a week ago when she was a week shy of 4 years old. Sadly, we moved outside of NY Tails' area and had to find new dog walkers. But NY Tails is amazing. Everyone there treated Sadie like their own dog and we couldn't have been happier. The owners Kira and Paulo are excellent and the team is responsive. Sadie had two main walkers over our 4 years: Mally and Vivian. Both were beyond amazing and caring for Sadie. We trusted them 100%. We also occasionally used the day care service and had similarly great interactions. Always got picture updates and were sure Sadie was well cared for. In short, we used NY Tails for 4 years, had two walkers, and used the day care. Frequent last minute walker changes and then being super late to the walk. On one occasion we had to run home and manage the walk ourselves at the last minute. If you're skeptical about how it is possible for a dog walking/daycare/boarding service to have such high reviews, don't be. NY Tails truly is this great. Our dog is not the easiest to walk on a leash. He can be reactive, skittish, and/or excited. We wanted to be sure that whoever was helping us care for him would love him and care for him as we would - despite any challenges. NYTails did that and more. In addition to the amazing care and love they gave to our dog through dog walking, daycare, and boarding, they have a very organized and convenient system for communication and payment. You more or less get real-time responses to questions (and plenty of photos!) and can pay for services in whatever form is easiest for you. P.S. We give NY Tails our most glowing review. We have been loyal clients for over a year and a half, and are very sad to leave them behind when we move out of state. We first called them when we felt in over our heads with our new rescue pup Finn, who was extremely anxious in his new NYC environment. I can't thank Paolo enough for putting me at ease - and for giving us smart and effective training information. Finn adapted successfully to the city with Paolo's help. Also: Finn absolutely adores Alberto, his daily walker, and it is clear the two have a close bond. We LOVE Alberto's phenomenally artistic photos of their daily walks. It is rare to find someone who cares so much about your pup - but this seems to be what NY Tails does best. They are wonderful when it comes to overnight stays, too, even offering pick-up/drop-off if you need it. NY Tails has helped our family tremendously for the past year. NY Tails is very accommodating when it comes to dog walk schedules and any last minute emergencies life may throw at you. They are very easy to talk to and are very open to any inquiries you may have. We have never had any problems or concerns with how our dog was treated and can't see any reason to use another dog walking business. Our main dog walker Ian has been great with our dog and we have never had to worry about his care. On one occasion Ian carried our dog back home as he was not feeling well on that day. There were other times when it was simply too hot for our dog to walk and Ian had the sense to cut the walk a little short for our dogs own safety. We wish Ian the best on his future endeavors and we will miss him being our dog walker. Overall our experience with NY Tails has been great. Kicked my dog of daycare with no warning or communication after a year and over a hundred classes with no problems. My dog was just barking at other dogs there was no apparent conflict or aggressive behavior. I really expect a daycare to communicate the issue properly and find a way to work around it. Instead there is a phone call during my work hours saying that it's my dog's last day in the daycare. Issue rose out of nowhere. In addition, my apartment was being renovated so I have no visible solution to keep my dog safe if he doesn't go to the daycare. Imagine someone's disappointment receiving such a phone call after a year of attending this daycare and thinking that your puppy is cared for and in goods hand. I have also been a loyal customer with few pre-bought packages and would really appreciate to have issues like to be attempted to be worked on before getting a last day notice. Even if my packages were bought at the discounted price, I would expect similar level of care and devotion to the new customers. Even given the benefit of the doubt to a miscommunication you can imagine how someone feels or would react getting this information out of the blue. In the following calls, the owner had the nerve to call us names and discuss my personal affairs in an unprofessional and also unethical fashion. read more

I have been using NY Tails as a dog walking service for months since living in NYC. I have recently found out by a very reliable neighbor that he saw my walker kicking my dog on the street multiple times and he wanted to notify me immediately. My dog is a puppy (not even a year old) with high energy and loves other dogs. I immediately spoke to a manager who was very kind. She told me the owner would call me in a couple days when he returns from vacation. After several messages and emails, multiple days later the owner of the company finally calls me and states he is taking the dog walkers word over mine. The walker admitted to pulling my dog apart from another dog but not to the kicking (I mean who would admit to animal abuse?). The whole time on the phone the owner kept telling me he simply could not believe me or take my word and was mocking my story. Although I did not see anything happen & I am very aware of that, my neighbor did and they felt it was to the point that I needed to know as they have multiple dogs of their own. The owner could not even apologize or call me without me asking multiple times. As the owner of a company, a company that I have given A LOT of money to, they should take more accountability and treat their customers better than that. On top of it all he offered to share his personal life with me to try and make me feel bad for him instead of taking the incitive to reach out to me and fix any issue. The only thing they did was hand me my keys back and cancel all my future walks I had planned. He stated he got to know my walker for ONE week and that he doesn't believe she would do such a thing. Yeah I'm sure one week getting to know someone is proof she would never kick an animal. All in all, be careful of this company. I don't believe in animal abuse of any kind and they want to justify it. I wanted to make you all aware. read more

First of all, sorry for the long review but I love these guys. As a traveling professional I arrived in the UES and had literally half a day to find Zeus a doggie daycare. I yelped doggie daycare & dog walkers and found two places. The first place, I walked in & literally walked out. Then I found Kira & NY Tails. She put my mind at ease. A few hours later, Paolo came over to check out our environment. He recommended a great groomer and gave me some tips on making Zeus more sociable with other D-O-G-S. (Shhh, he thinks he's human) Zeus goes for a walk on Mondays and Fridays. Amanda walks him and she is excellent. She is always on time & Zeus is always excited to see her. She keeps me posted on his walk. I know if he took care of business during his walk, the exact time of the walk & his progress on his social skills. Zeus is a "mama's boy" and wasn't very social with other dogs. Amanda has taken the time to train him to walk with other dogs. He is now part of a pack. She gives him his daily snack and wipes his paws down, etc. During summer she was cognitive of Zeus and his paws on the hot cement, his fluid intake, etc. Tuesday~Thursday he goes to doggie day care. What can I say? Perfection!!! First of all, I've stopped by unexpectedly and have found happy dogs, supervising staff & a very clean environment. They send me pics of Zeus while he is at daycare. (Look at the pics they post on FB) I love getting these pics & they always make me smile. Flexible??? Kira started the daycare a week early to welcome Zeus. Zeus was literally her first pup in doggie daycare. They pick up & drop off Zeus. (Thanks Nilo...you rock!) Nilo makes sure that Zeus is safe and hangs up his leash & harness and wipes him down. Yes, I'm one of "those" people. Anyone who is a part of my life knows that Zeus is my baby. He's beyond spoiled and he gets the best that life has to offer. I know that Kira & Paolo & all of their staff loves Zeus. On the weekends, Zeus gets excited when we walk past his home away from home. I recently have had to make a decision on our new "future" home on where to live here in the city. I based my decision on NY Tails. I want Zeus to be safe and comfortable while I'm at work. I also want him to be with people that love him. We have found a family with these wonderful angels. They're extremely flexible with our schedules, send emails, texts, pictures & are there for us around the clock.
