I rescued my pup from a shelter in June. It became apparently quickly that he was a good boy from an undisciplined background. He exhibited difficulties on the leash and socializing with other dogs. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Lauren's Leash. We've been a customer of LL for over a year and our dog, Riley, gets walked 5 days/week with Matt. I've been home many times when Matt arrived to take Riley for his daily walk and have witnessed their interaction. Riley is so excited to see Matt everyday that he even lays by the door anticipating Matt's arrival around 1pm (or he just needs to "go out"!)...Either way though, once Matt arrives, Riley is incredibly happy - ferocious tail wagging and he literally makes cries of joy! Haha. Lauren's Leash is very responsive over email as well - really makes things convenient for us while we're at work or on-the-go. Whether it's canceling appts, rescheduling, asking for special attention that day, etc. As New Yorkers, knowing what time Matt arrives (checks-in) and what time they finish their walk (checks-out) with a brief note explaining how it all went is super nice. These might seem like small things, but they certainly give us peace of mind that our pup is in great hands when we're not at home. The GPS tracker is also nice because we know that Riley is getting a quality walk and exercise...not just a gander up-and-down the block! We've enjoyed Lauren's Leash services for quite some time now. Specifically, Alex and Penny are our walkers and we absolutely love them. They are both super responsible. The brief reports that they leave for each walk often include my dog's antics for the day and leave a smile on my face. I often have to travel for work last minute and they are always very accommodating. I never have to worry when I'm away from home because I know our dog is in good hands. We first met Lauren during an at-home training session from a package we purchased through 'School for the Dogs'. Our australian labradoodle immediately fell in love with Lauren. After a horrible experience with our former dog walker, we decided to gave Lauren's Leash a try. Our dog walker is Matt and we absolutely love him. Lauren hand picks her walkers and trains them well. Matt reinforces our pup's commands and goes beyond the call of dog walking duty. He feeds her lunch daily, wipes down her paws after a stroll through new york 's filthy streets and even gives her medication if needed. I have been a client at Lauren's Leash for a little over a year. I have worked with 4 different walkers in that time- and all were great. My dog was a rescue and struggled with trust and fear. Lauren is the best with dogs. When we first brought our dog home we needed someone to train him and boy were we lucky to find Lauren. She took our dog out for walks and gave him training sessions. Long story short: Lauren and Matt at Lauren's Leash are truly the best. They actually restored my faith in humanity, helped me out of a tough bind, and have given my little pup so much love and attention...he is so happy in their care and it shows. The long story: I had signed up with an independent dog walker based on the advice of a friend. I was paying her to come 3 times a day to visit my new puppy. There were a few oddities during the first week that made me curious. Checked with my building and found she was only coming once per day...sometimes for as little as five minutes. I was devastated. This was a Friday night, and I had to find a new person to watch him by Monday. I checked with Annie @ The School for The Dogs (another business I highly recommend) and she strongly recommended Lauren. Lauren came to meet me that weekend, and she and Matt started on Monday morning. I can't say enough good things about them. They use a service that provides GPS tracking for their walks...so not only do I know they are there, but I can see exactly where they take my little guy. After each walk, I get a detailed write-up with information on the walk, his mood, and what they worked on with him. Every walk is accompanied by positive reinforcement training, and it shows. He's getting a great foundation in their care. Last but not least, Lauren has helped train me as well. She is very wise and has taught me how to really take care of him in the city. As a new puppy owner, she's given me the confidence to know that I am raising him to be a great dog. Honestly, they are truly spectacular and great folks. My wife and I first met Lauren through School for the Dogs, as our new rescue dog Eva was having trouble acclimating herself to city living and was quite frankly terrified of being outside. Within a few Walk and Train Sessions, Lauren helped Eva conquer her fears of being outside and has enjoyed loose leash walking around Manhattan ever since. Since then, we've been using Lauren's Leash for all of Eva's walking needs and could not be happier with her services. We've worked closely with Brenton who has been nothing short of amazing with Eva and makes us feel better leaving her when we go to work during the day. I could probably gush for hours about Lauren! We have two lab mixes, about 2 yrs and 4.5 yrs old. Our youngest dog started showing signs of aggression towards younger dogs at the dog park and guarding (a word we've learned from Lauren). After asking around for recommendations, I met a dog walker in the park who said he actually was taking a client of his to meet Lauren for training. I am so glad that I took his advice! The second she came in, both of my dogs were so comfortable with her. She spent lots of time answering our questions and took an extensive history of our time with both dogs too. When we took the dogs out on a walk with her, she was immediately able to pinpoint behaviors that we had never noticed (and probably wouldn't have) that indicated stressers for our dog. Furthermore, after our session, we received an amazingly detailed overview of our session, complete with step-by-step instructions for training/homework for us to do with our dogs, videos that break down dog behavior, and recommendations for treats/food/etc. We've seen an incredible improvement in just a week - I was able to take both of my dogs and my 1.5 yr old son to the vet, and the waiting room was a breeze when I used her training tactics. I previously just sat and held on to the leashes for dear life as my dog would whine and yelp and try to greet every dog/person there. We are looking forward to seeing Lauren more and improving our relationship with our dogs - I only wish we could bring her with us when we move out of state. These 5 star reviews are completely accurate and well deserved. We recently adopted a pit mix and needed to find a walker asap. Lauren and our (future) walker, Hans, came over and spent over an hour with us discussing what we expected from the walk and any concerns we may have. Jump to the following week, and Hans and our dog, Dexter, had their first walks together. It was very obvious how much Dexter loved Hans and looked forward to his arrival for their walk. I absolutely LOVE the GPS feature that Lauren has with her walkers. I could follow where Dexter and Hans walked and when Hans checked in/out of the walk. I also LOVE the comments feature on http://www.petchecktechnology.com/ (the online service Lauren uses to schedule walks). Every day I looked forward to their walk update! Whenever I needed to schedule a last minute walk or cancel something, Lauren or Katie (her assistant) would respond back in a timely manner. It is very simple to request a service with her company. Lauren of Lauren's leash is a lifesaver! I was extremely anxious about using a dog walker after a bad experience a few years back but this past Christmas season I had to work very long hours, sometimes not getting home until after 11pm. I was referred to Lauren by a good friend who raved about her. I met her and hired her to give some evening walks to My Little Guy Buddy. She already booked dog sitting nearby but said the dogs would be safe / appropriate to walk together. My nerves were calmed each evening when I got her texts saying Buddy was doing great. Each night, Buddy was safe, sound and tired when I got home. One night I was lucky enough to get home earlier than expected and there they were in the living room, My Buddy, Lauren and a cute little Dog named Gus. Buddy was having so much fun on the play date he barely had time to acknowledge me. Not only had she walked him as I had asked her to, but she gave Buddy an extended play date that he was thoroughly enjoying. When Lauren left, Buddy walked her to the door as if to say "where are you going?". It felt great knowing I can leave him in good hands and he'll be safe and happy! read more
