I've been procrastinating in writing this review because it's so hard to sum up everything that Denise has done for our dog Lex as well as for us, his owners. It's next to impossible to know where to start, but I'll try...
Back in August 2011 my (then) boyfriend Geoff, and I got a puppy. Not even thinking straight, we completely forgot about the week and a half vacation we had planned for that September. I was new to my job in an ad agency at the time and heard a rumor that this AWESOME woman (Denise) had recently left said ad agency to pursue her dream of becoming a dog trainer. So I emailed her.
I'll always remember the first time we met her at her apartment, and how welcoming she and her (then) boyfriend Ryan were! (also I remember being impressed with how clean her apartment was!) Geoff and I left knowing that this was the place for Lex while we were away. We definitely shed a tear when we dropped Lex off for that first trip (it was the first time for us leaving our baby!) but Denise was so communicative and sent us emails, updates and pictures almost daily on how he was doing during our trip. That was the first of many, many stays Lex has had at their apartment, but the last tear we shed when saying goodbye. Ever since that first trip we've known that Lex gets a mini-vacation and loves every second with Denise when we're out of town.
Denise has been there for Lex, Geoff and I through some amazing vacations as well as some hard times. I'll never forget how great she was when we called her last minute to watch Lex after we learned the news my Grandfather had passed away. She was soooo understanding, and we were so grateful she was able to watch Lex during that time.
In an effort to NOT make this go on and on (too late), I'll try to sum up the next 3 years with Denise in a few sentences. There is something to be said for not having to worry at all about your animal while you are out of town, whether it be for business/pleasure or even a family emergency. Add to that the comfort that comes along with knowing that the person watching your pet has taken the time to learn as much as Denise has about dogs, AND genuinely loves your pet and has an amazing heart. (not to mention all the cool games she plays with him, the training she works on with him, the presents she sends back with him and her great tact and sense of humor)
Oh yeah! I almost forgot to add that Lex LOVES Denise and her husband Ryan. This is so important for Geoff and I since Lex is the type of dog that can take a really, really long time in warming up to people. Maybe it's because Lex has known Denise for almost as long as he's known us, or maybe it's because Denise is so awesome. I'm pretty sure it's the latter =) read more
