I can't say enough good things about Kristina and No Problem! Dog Training. She started working with our Mini Poodle puppy three days after he arrived home. We chose the Boot Camp package (highly recommend) so she could spend dedicated time with him 2x/week. She choses a skill each day (sit, down, stay, leave it, etc.), then builds on them and combines together to keep the dog engaged. Aside from obedience, she worked with our puppy on desensitization, becoming more comfortable with other dogs, sounds, traffic and general walking down the street. I'm thrilled to recommend Kristina. I've worked with many trainers since adopting my awesome but challenging dog almost 8 years ago, and I can honestly say that Kristina is the best trainer out of all of them. She's organized, patient, and truly loves helping people help their dogs to become their best selves. Other trainers have been good but not great; Kristina is GREAT. My dog has a history of fear-based aggression. His reactivity is very predictable for him but not easy for other people or dogs to predict because he doesn't really behave like other dogs. I recently started dating someone who has a dog. It started getting more serious, and I was concerned because even though my dog has had a lot of training, he typically doesn't get along well with most other dogs because of his fear aggression. My boyfriend's dog is a crazy, rambunctious puppy, and we were concerned that my dog would not react well to her. So we hired Kristina to help us introduce them. We had no idea what to expect, but Kristina helped us to understand that before we could introduce them, the puppy needed some one-on-one training so that we would each have control of our dogs when introducing them. After a few sessions with the puppy, Kristina helped us to take them on a walk together, and it went really well! She showed us how to maintain boundaries and how to not push my reactive older dog too far so that they could continue having positive interactions that would make him more comfortable each time. I can not recommend Kristina enough! Her puppy boot camp saved us!! We reached out to Kristina for leash training when our labradoodle, Martha, was 6 months old. Martha had already completed two puppy classes where she did great in an inclosed gym-like setting, but we were really struggling with walks out in the real world. Martha was terrified of all big sounds - trucks, motorcycles, buses, construction, dogs barking from houses/yards, etc. She was also scared of kids riding by on scooters and bicycles. Martha dealt with this fear by pulling like crazy on the leash and making all walking attempts pretty miserable. Our dream when we got Martha was that she would walk with me to take our 6 and 9 year old boys to school everyday. I started to think it would never happen because the entire walk was along a very busy road, which included a train overpass. I contacted Kristina after hearing great things about her from a friend. We started Martha in a 10-day puppy boot camp class where Kristina would take her out on long walks working on getting Martha to focus on her instead of all the other commotion and noise outside. She played training games (such as puppy push ups and much more) with Martha on the busy streets. Kristina also worked on having Martha heal and stay right beside her without pulling while walking. Kristina worked to find the perfect high value treat for Martha, which ended up being string cheese! Martha will do anything for cheese. We could see a marked difference in walking with Martha right away, but decided to extend the boot camp for 10 more sessions to make sure all the new habits would really stick. During that time, Kristina let me join for a session so that I could practice all the skills/training techniques they were using. She also let our dog walker join in on a session. This made all the difference because we were able to reinforce all the new positive behaviors because everyone was trained to use the same techniques. Kristina was even able to walk Martha to and from my boys' elementary school while pausing in front of the play yard with 100 loud kids for trainings with Martha. It was amazing! Now a year later Martha is a joy to walk. She is one of the most well behaved doggies out there, and she always gets complemented by people passing by. My boys have even started to walk her! I still use the cheese in moments of chaos as we're going under the train overpass or a herd of screaming kids go running and scooting by on their way to school. Kristina was an amazing help to us. We adopted a pitbull who had been in a bad car accident, and because of this had become deaf and experienced some brain damage. She assisted on everything from how take him on walks to ensuring that he was engaged at home. In the beginning, our pup whined frequently, had a hard time settling, and was eating a ton of garbage on the street. By the end we were able he was able to sit, lay, settle, roll over, crawl, etc; he was well-behaved; and our walks were much more enjoyable. She has many years of experience, has worked with all breeds of dogs, and is extremely patient. We never felt rushed in our time together, and she set out as much time as we needed for sessions. Afterwards, she would send us "homework assignments" and check in with us in between sessions. In addition, she was available for calls or check-ins in between sessions as well. Through private sessions, Kristina helped us with basic and a few advanced commands and gave us insight into the way our dog (a young, very energetic terrier mix) thinks and behaves. We gained knowledge about challenging him both mentally and physically so he stays happy and healthy, and got great advice from her about using tools like a no-pull harness, a treat pouch during walks to refocus our dogs attention, and a long training leash to increase the difficulty of the exercises we do with him. She lives on the west side but met us either at or near our home in the Silver Lake/Echo Park area on weekends, which was much appreciated. We love Kristina! Our Covid puppy Lucy is a silly happy Australian Shepherd who is full of beans and requires a lot of work - we reached out to Kristina when Lucy first came home with us and we have been working together for about 6 weeks. We first started with zoom sessions given Covid, and Kristina was so helpful giving us advice and basic obedience lessons via video. The video sessions were surprisingly useful, even through a screen Kristina was able to really provide knowledge and tangible tips to help us guide Lucy into being the best girl. We moved into social distanced sessions in the yard and later moved into a mix of boot camp (Kristina and Lucy solo) plus group lessons. We can not recommend Kristina more highly, she truly loves dogs and makes all the lessons so fun and helpful, she is incredibly patient and flexible with both puppies and puppy parents! I am so thankful for Kristina and No Problem! Dog Training! I got my dog, Memphis, during the middle of the pandemic lock down and did not want to wait to train him until in person was an option. I was extremely overwhelmed when I first got Memphis and was so nervous about doing the wrong things. Kristina made all the difference for both Memphis and I. She listened and answered all of my questions without judgement and made me feel like I wasn't alone- especially in the pandemic! Kristina was flexible and made all of the Zoom trainings feel as if they were in person and provided a ton of video and email follow up which I could refer to throughout the day when we would practice training on our own. Kristina developed training plans around Memphis so if he was having a harder time with "down" or not coming up the stairs when we got back from our walk she'd change direction and do training for what issue was prevalent. I really loved Kristina's positive reinforcement approach and that she really learns the dog's personality and considers it when talking about him and the training. We rescued an adult German Shepherd two years ago that ended up having extreme dog aggression. We started with a traditional dog trainer and saw initial progress followed by a plateau. While he definitely improved, he would often shut down after training sessions and we weren't seeing the progress we needed - not to mention we felt awful using force to get through commands (but at the time we trusted the professional and kept pushing on through). Kristina showed us a completely different training method through positive reinforcement. By eliminating scolding, switching from a prong collar to a head collar, and using clicker training, we saw more improvement with each session than we'd ever experienced before. After just four sessions, our dog is able to stay relaxed and focused on us when dogs are behind him.
