I've been calling for two days now to try to get into the system so that a fire alarm Security can go in and test sure everything's working for a C of O. that I need. Repeatedly I was told we can't do this. We can't get into it. We can't do anything for you.. though they claim one of their workers talk to the person trying to get into it didn't help. I was told to start a phone line and then had them reconnect the security services . When I called back to reconnect the services, the woman said why I thought you said somebody else very sarcastically very rude. What's going on there ! I thought you had somebody else. And I said I don't know what your problem is but every time we have a conversation with you, you wanna give me a hard time. It's that simple. I want to restart the service and that's when she said she was gonna refuse me and I asked you the owner was and she said she was along with another woman's voice in the back. Screaming we own it. Then, when he was 2 hrs late with no call, I called him and he said his kid had soccer. I thought I'd give him another chance thinking he just didn't want to say no when he said he would come on Saturday. He knew we really needed him bc my kiln was not firing and I needed service before the kiln tech could come. And so I thought he didn't want to say no. So we agreed to him coming Monday at 9 am. At 9:45, my husband called and he said (get this) he was late because he inhaled suds while in the shower. He said he was on his way. At 10:30, still no show, we texted him and told him to forget it. He never replied. During this, he wasn't answering his phone and his voicemail was full, too. And these were not even the first time something like this happened. Once before, a couple years ago, he came to give an estimate and during the estimate he fixed a small problem and said he would send us his estimate for the whole job. Then he couldnt come back to do the job bc he hurt his foot. Even though we now had to find someone else to do the entire job, we sent him a check anyway for the small repair he did during the estimate because we felt bad he had been in the hospital. He seemed like a good guy back then. But now I think maybe that was not true either. Anyway, I would not recommend. I don't like leaving bad reviews. But someone else one time posted a review about a company I was just about to sign a contract with. That person saved me from making a huge mistake. The original electrician I had called had told me the wire was too small and we would need to replace it all (without actually taking anything apart to see the size of the wire under the cabling) They easily could have taken advantage of someone like me who knows little to nothing about electricity, but instead, they did the right thing and earned themselves a life long customer.

Now I work from home out of the garage, yes even in December, so this was a pretty big deal! No blown breakers, no clear issues. I called the electrician I have used in the past but he was busy for the next week so I went on the Irondequoit Facebook page and I ended up finding these guys. Over the phone they were very professional they were even able to come out that day in a few hours to check out the issue. They arrived promptly and were able to figure out what the problem was pretty easily and the rates were not horrible. Whenever you hire a skilled tradesman you know there's going to be some costs just have them check out the problem. The issue comes with what happened after they left. They left about half of the breakers in my breaker box flipped for some unknown reason. Maybe it was part of diagnosing the problem but they were the breakers that I was having an issue with. Where it gets worse is that one of those breakers was to my hot tub! I'm a new hot tub owner and we've only had this thing for less than 5 months. Turns out when you shut the power off to the hot tub it resets all the settings including the heater! Nothing God today was a super warm day and we tried to go in the hot tub only to find the water was 67° not 100. If we hadn't caught this now then the water would eventually frozen over the winter and destroyed the hot tub. As it is I'm still out a fun day with my family on this unseasonably warm day. I'm not saying not to use these guys if you need some electrical help but I'm definitely saying double check their work and make sure that everything is as it should be before they leave.

They don't adhere to contracts and are perfectly comfortable breaking the law and attempting to do unpermitted electrical work. If at any point you decide you no longer wish to have them go through with work, they will berate you and refused to refund any of the attempt of money (also they insist on upfront payment in full), claiming expenses while refusing to itemize or give any indication of what those expenses are. Highly HIGHLY recommend that everyone avoid these people at all cost.

Now that the unit is "out of warranty," I fully expect they will find more problems and hand me another list of expensive repairs. Turnbull's refusal to stand behind their work, their avoidance of accountability, and their unwillingness to escalate customer concerns to management make it clear: this company puts customers last. Original Review - I am beyond disappointed with Turnbull Heating and Cooling and strongly advise against using their services unless you enjoy paying for poor-quality workmanship and constant repairs. I had my furnace installed by Turnbull in 2021, and it has been nothing but a headache ever since. I've had multiple service calls due to the unit not working, including two terrifying instances in less than a month when the wiring short-circuited and literally caught fire both times (photo attached). While the part was covered under warranty, Turnbull refuses to cover the cost of labor, leaving me with a $419 bill ($169 for diagnostics and $250 for labor). I've never heard of a warranty that only covers parts, forcing customers to pay out of pocket for issues caused by poor workmanship. When I reached out to Amana, the furnace manufacturer, they explained that their warranty doesn't cover labor because they can't verify if the unit was installed properly to begin with. This points directly to Turnbull's shoddy installation and lack of accountability. Save yourself the stress, unsafe equipment, and constant expenses. Avoid Turnbull Heating and Cooling at all costs. Their poor-quality work and refusal to stand by their installations are unacceptable.
