RE: Post From Brittany D and Yves C.: From the Down Under Tanning customer service team: When customers sign up on auto draft for $19.95 or $49.95 we will ,as a courtesy place them on a NO PAY freeze for up to 3 months consecutive but, in many cases customers call or come in to place the hold the day before or the day of the draft. But unfortunatley in any business that auto drafts you need a minimum of 72 hours prior to the due date, not including weekend days, to place the hold because the banking systems pre-authorize accounts and put them on a "post pending" term 48 hours in advance to ensure the draft . Our contracts state a 30 day notice is required for cancellations and holds just like any business that auto drafts to ensure the request BUT, as a courtesy, we always hold or cancel the request as long as the customer notify's us within 3 to 4 business before draft. So in this case, that is exactly what happened and no matter what you do, the old saying goes "You can't make everyone happy" but we always try to give the best experience possible. So in other words, there is 2 sides to every story and the best advise I can give to everyone reading this is: Come to our salon with 20 beds in Tracy and 15 beds in Livermore and experience our customer service, cleanliness and the performance of our beds that we pride ourselves in first hand to see for yourself... As far as Yves C goes we did not have availability for her air brush tan for the exact time she requested and we had other times available but it wouldn't work for her schedule. So we called the Livermore location to see if we had availability and we did but she didn't want to drive there, understandable. So we tried to reschedule other clients to give Yves C the appt but they declined. She also signed up on a membership that is non transferable so we gave her the usual option of you can put it on hold or cancel but in this case she wanted to give it to a family member who will eventually give it to some one else and so on and so on within a one month period. So in this case, she was unhappy with not getting her way. Once again the old saying goes "You can't make everyone happy" but we always try to give the best experience possible. This salon has it all! I have been tanning for years and this place is by far the best. The customer service is so friendly and inviting, whatever their taking I want some. I pay $19.95 monthly for 2 levels of tanning, I am SOLD and here to stay, you can't find that anywhere!!! The store is huge with like 20 something rooms, great pricing, and it is very clean, that's an understatement, it's extremely clean! Honestly, I give Down Under a 5 star rating because the quality is like a 5 star hotel. You'll see!!! read more

For being the first time I tan, its ok. Prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, the place is clean but I'm disappointed with the spray tan. Before I got it done I explained to the girl exactly what I wanted and what my expectations were. She convinced me into getting it and unfortunately I'm disappointed. Not what I expected. My husband and I needed to tan before our trip so we decided to shop around for prices. Upon calling several where we live and work, we decided to go to this one. We loved it so much we decided on the $19.95 membership. The staff is so welcoming which is hard to find nowadays and the salon is clean. Plus we never have to wait because they have alot of rooms. This salon is the best! My husband and I wanted maybe a month before our vacation. So my coworker suggested Down Under where she goes. Well, we actually signed up for the year because we loved it so much, you just can't help it. The staff is so friendly and helpful which is a rare nowadays. I love this tanning salon. They are extremely nice and friendly and make you feel very comfortable. I even got my boyfriend to start going with me and he loves it here. The girls are wonderful and make him feel like guys tanning is as normal as girls going which is great since he was so embarassed to go at first. Anyways, this place is an A++! I have been to many tanning places, this is a great one. It is extremely clean, there are many beds, staff are friendly.
