I'd definitely have to agree with many of the other commenters when they say that the tanning bed strength are really weak. I've come here in the past and had a membership and I would get tan after the first two times!! I got a monthly membership about two weeks ago and I've come every single day and I still haven't even gotten to base and I'm very very disappointed especially after paying $120 for a month of tanning. My reason for leaving the review is to reach out to the owner and ask if there's anything that he can do to accommodate my concern and address the issues that several people have been complaining about it. I don't want to have wasted $120 and not even have a base tan. In the past I used to love this place becuz they used to have the best lights in their beds and u would see results very quickly. DO NOT buy into a membership! So sad because I've always liked the owner Sal. I was a member here for almost 5 years! It started taking 4-5 times (in a row) just to get a base tan. And just wasn't worth the time or the $60 a month fee. When you cancel the membership (no matter what day of the month) they take another fee for the following month! I canceled on the 14th, and they still took another month payment to "make sure all the paperwork was right"!! So I paid an additional month and can't even use the services. And this is why family owned businesses go under. Doesn't pay to be a loyal customer anymore. read more

I love the tanning salon, it is clean and affordable. I have maintained a great tan going there the past couple years. The tanning salon is five stars. Unfortunately, my experience at the la Stella hair salon there is worthy of zero stars. I texted the male barber and asked "can you do my hair tonight at 5, I need to be quick, I have to meet a friend afterwards." He texted back "yes". I was going in for a wash and blow out, it usually takes him thirty minutes. It took him an hour and twenty-five mins. Read on to find out why. I took off work an hour early so I could tan and get my hair done in time to meet my friend. I arrived at the salon at 4:30 to tan and was in his barber chair by 5. He preceded to wash my hair, half way through the wash, a man walked in the door and he said to me "let me cut his hair real quick, I'll be right back." Mind you this is not the first time he has left me with soaking wet hair while he attends to another client, ...this is why I texted him that I was in a hurry. While he is cutting that man's hair, another man walks in. He says to the man, "you need to text me first, I don't have time." The guy responds, "I did text you, you said five." So, then I realize he knew someone else was coming at five, even though I told him I needed to hurry...he got my hair wet so I couldn't leave. It's in this moment that he realizes the guy in his chair was a walk in, not the guy he told could come at 5. Now, he makes me wait as he cuts and washes the second guys hair as well. Folks, it wasn't the first time he left me with my hair sopping wet, my neck bent back in the sink with soap in it. This was so unprofessional! Not to mention the sinks for hair washing are not comfortable. I'm not done, it gets worse. He was wearing a latex glove on one of his hands, for what purpose I don't know, but he washed my hair with it, cut and styled the first guy with it, swept the floor with it, picked up his cell phone many times with it, cut and washed the second guys hair with it...and finished my hair with it....the same glove never came off his hand. GROSS. Between him leaving me with wet hair while he takes two clients before me after I told him I was in a hurry....and that glove...I should really give him no stars. He has no respect for anyone else's time and honestly he probably bought his flat iron and blow dryer at the flea market. If he can't change his glove between clients, don't wear a glove, wash your hands! One last thing, while he was styling my hair, he mentioned that a male client had asked him to wax his whole body, yes, the whole thing, that too. He told me that he told the client he would have to do it after everyone left and they could go in the back because there are cameras in the front and he didn't want to have him take his clothes off. So he waited until everyone was gone and then took him in the back. I don't know for a fact, but I'm pretty sure this man is not licensed to wax and I'm pretty sure also he waxed him in a room that wasn't for waxing. But I'll let the owner figure that one out. I haven't tried any of the female hairdressers there, I'm sure they're great and would never be so unprofessional, but as for me, after being disrespected the way I was from this man, I will never use that salon again. read more

6/10/23 went to this establishment to get a spray tan. The employee was snobby and unfriendly. She knows my husband and daughters go there and spend money as regulars. She asked me if I had used spray tan machine before and I said not in a very long time. I was hoping she was being thorough with her instructions. However, she only told me to turn each time the machine paused so I assumed I was turning four times to get all sides of the body. Low and behold it goes off only two times and when I asked she said sorry. You only turn once. And simply told me I could pay again for the service to do my other side. We're talking $40 for nothing. This would have costed me a total of $80. Terrible customer service. Again. She was completely rude. I do not recommend this place to anyone ever. Spend your money wisely. The staff are great and the beds are always clean. The strength of the tanning lights are very weak. I have been using a tanning bed for many years and know about the dial on each bed that turns the intensity of the lights up or down. I paid $94.00 for a month and notice very little color. I have spray tanned here around 10 times, it's always hit or miss, but never this bad. I have a contract for 6 months paying $60 but I got covid & was sick for a month. I don't go out much anymore so called to cancel my subscription. They said I have to pay $50 on top of $60 for my monthly payment regardless because I was cancelling before 6 months. Uhm what? I only have it for 6 months anyways? Idk maybe it's just me but I don't understand it. I was hoping they would understand a bit more due to these times but of course not. They want their money. Katie and I have been coming to La Stella for the last month and they always greet us with a smile and helpful information. I am very pale and probably have no business trying to tan but the staff has been informative and Katie is looking a lot darker. The beds are always clean when we go in and they have plenty of supplies available for purchase up front. They also offer services other than the tanning beds like spray tanning and some red light booth. While I'm no pro at tanning I have definitely had a great experience here and it been worth coming in and grabbing some "sun" especially since I'm trapped in the office during most of the daylight hours. I should have been a valued customer seeing how I was on a monthly plan there for 3 years . Yet, when I decided to cancel my membership and buy single tanning sessions instead of wasting months that I never went in. They still charged me my monthly unlimited tanning fees for two months after and did not want to issue a refund. I decided to stop going there and buy my tanning sessions where my business is appreciated. When a business takes money from me long after I've cancelled and continuously inconveniences me by making me come in multiple times to fix the same issue, well that's bad business etiquette and I'd rather spend my money elsewhere read more

I went to get a spray tan for the first time for a vacation I was going on. The staff was helpful, friendly and answered all of my questions. The only complaint I have is that the lotion I put on as barrier cream did not want to come out of the dispenser so I turned really orange on my feet and between my fingers and toes. They also use runny baby lotion for the barrier cream so the little bit I got out of the dispenser did not protect my I liked that they had complimentary wipes to use after my tan as well as stickers to track your tanning progress and deodorant. I think I prefer to do UV tanning since you get more bang for your buck but whenever I need to be tan ASAP I would spray tan again. I will be back soon to start my UV tanning package before the summer starts! read more

Just started tanning here mainly because of the leg tanner. I have a convertible so,upper body exposed frequently lower,not as much. Very clean here & young ladies up front very sweet & always "appropriately" dressed. I have used the regular tanning beds too but,mainly leg tanner which gets the job done & only place I'm aware of there is one. The prices are a bit high but worth it for me. First time yesterday. I enjoyed my experience in the stand up tanning "station". I thought it was a bit pricey though. Other places charge much less for a 15 min session. They offer an extra towel (not just the one you stand on) Also, baby wipes for after and spray deodorant. I also liked that the radio was on the inside of the bed and that they didn't ask you to keep the volume low. The place was clean, the staff was very friendly. I'd go back. read more

Very clean & kept up tanning salon! All of the girls & owner are very friendly & can answer any question you have. They have a ton of different rooms to choose from so you usually don't have to wait. & of course tanning lotions & protective eye wear. I recommend this place to anyone that hasn't been here before! The prices aren't bad for just the basic beds, about $40 unlimited per month (no annoying contract) but really that's all you need unless you need to be tan in the next few days... read more

My hairstylist started working here because her prior salon closed. My hairstylist is excellent and I give her 5 stars. The one star is for the other hairstylist. She did not follow Covid precautions. She had her mask off while working on clients. She did not sanitize her station after each client nor did she take their temperatures. When I asked her if masks are mandated, she said yes. I pointed out she has had her mask off most of the time and she continued on to work without her mask. People (clients and an employee) are also coming in to the salon to go to the back where there's a nail salon without masks. same owner). I called the salon x2 to speak to the owner to give him a chance to fix this but he has not called me. So here I am writing a review. Next step will be Dept of health and the board of cosmetology. Too bad I may have to find another hairstylist if this salon will not enforce precautions for the safety of clients and workers. read more

I went today to get my very first Brazilian wax and I must say Tiffany is an amazing esthetician! She makes you feel completely comfortable despite having your most private area completely exposed. I don't think I've met a friendlier esthetician before! Also she plays very soothing music and the room is clean and welcoming. Tiffany is an expert at waxing and makes it as painless as possible. I would not go anywhere else and highly recommend her especially if you are a first time waxer! read more

Either way- the owner of La Stella worked it out with me and offered to give me services to compensate. Sal was willing to work things out and keep a customer. Went to La Stella yesterday with a friend of mine to get a spray tan. A day later my friend looked like she had just vacationed in Hawaii for two weeks, and I looked hardly any different. I had people telling me "You got a spray tan? You need to get your money back, because you cannot tell it at all." So my friend got upset because I paid for a tan and didn't get it, and said that we were going back to show them the difference and get it done again. Well, it didn't happen that way because the La Stella place would not do it. He kept saying that of course she was darker, because she has darker skin normally then me and that I am very fair and that is why its not that dark. My friend tried everything, but the only thing the guy offered was to let me do a level 3 tan again but only pay the level 2 price. So I paid $20 already for the level 2, that was technically level NOTHING on me, and the level 3 was $25 but he'd give it to me for another $20. So if I would have done that then in the course of 24 hours I would have paid $40 for a spray tan. It was VERY POOR customer service, because if everything he said was true then he would have told me when I was buying the spray tan "Ok, you're very fair so the level 2 will hardly show up on you at all, so you might want to consider the level 3 tan.", but he didn't do that. It was a bunch of bologne, he just didn't want to be out anything eventhough it was all on them. I already have 7 friends that have told me that they WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN after this. BEWARE that they are not a company that prides themselves on customer service, and making sure their customers are happy & will be long time customers. Also, check out the reviews on www.insiderpages.com for La Stella. Just saw their reviews, and boy do I wish I would have researched this place before I went. Sounds like they are a real shady place.
