It's got an edgy vibe, solid food and drinks, and customers who know how to party. Let me be honest and preface this review by stating that I have not visited this restaurant in a…read morelittle over one year. Things might have completely changed, so don't just rely on my opinion. The last two times I had gone there, however, the experience was mediocre at best. I found the food to be mostly items that could be quickly made, or at least should be able to have been quickly made, but took a lifetime before they were actually ready. I am talking about things like seafood covered nachos, and a baked potato stuffed with shrimp. They do serve daiquiris, which I did find interesting, and since I don't live far away, I did stop once and buy a couple for my wife and I to drink at home. Getting back to the restaurant, the times that I dined there, there were not many customers, although I think they may pick up business in the late evenings. I remember passing by at night, on a Friday or Saturday night, and noticing the parking lot was packed. Anyway, in my personal opinion, the food was mediocre, and the prices were fairly high. And of course, the service was very slow. The last few times that I have passed by the restaurant, however, it must have been closed, as there were absolutely no cars parked in front, and the lights appeared to be off. That would have been around typical dinner time, so it should have been busy. Also, I have not heard of any other local resident mentioning the restaurant in many months. You might want to call and make sure it is open before you go.

The informed me that there would be a wait but they had catfish available. We decided to wait and I was not disappointed. First of all they gave very generous portions when it came catfish ballet. This is not a cornmeal coating but a batter. At first I was surprised that I wasn't able to get any tartar sauce with my meal. However once I taste the fish I could see why it wasn't necessary. The fish was nicey flaky but the outside was crispy and not overly salted. This is some of the best tasting catfish I've had in a while. I am definitely going to come back to try the other items on the menu. I will note this is a food truck but they are here regularly. CRABBAGE! Tony's…read moreSeafood... I ordered seasoned crabs, not what looks like the remnants of dirty old slumgum crabs who retired from the mud wrestling team. When did dirt become "seasoning." Unless y'all have invented invisible Cajun dirt seasoning. Customers do not expect to purchase filthy, dirty, cold, crabs from a company hailing an 'outstanding, legendary reputation as a top-tier local institution, highly praised for its exceptionally fresh Gulf catch and serving quality food.' When returning the crabs for a refund, the lady giving the refund trying to convince my husband to keep them dirty cold things said, "We sell crabs at room temperature. We don't sell hot crabs." Ya'll the receipt clearly says, "HOT CRABS." Did she not realize the infraction she admitted! She basically confirmed they commit food violations, not keeping food at proper temperature!! How about that? He told her to refund our money back. Cleanliness and proper food temperature matter and this is not the first time I have returned dirty, cold, CRABS, back for a refund. Your hot food portions also have shrunk considerably yet your prices had increased tremendously. People are paying more for less. Tony's, this horrible economy does not support greed, especially dirty greed especially where improper food handling or poor food prep can lead to food borne illnesses. Here's what Google says about local seafood suppliers, markets, and regional culinary authorities who advocate for rinsing or thoroughly prepping live blue crabs before they hit the boiling pot to remove marsh mud and debris. Guess who's leading the pack!!! "Tony's Seafood: "Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the largest seafood market in the Gulf South operates under a strict operational standard that prioritizes extensive washing and sorting of live local blue crabs and crawfish prior to boiling or retail packaging to strip away pond and bayou mud." ARE THEY PRACTICING STANDARDS THEY ADVOCATE? Things that make you go hmmmmmm...... Rouses Markets "in their official emphasizes the practice of purging and rinsing live shellfish in fresh, cold water or placing them on draining ice to clean off the shells before introducing them to the seasoned boil." Louisiana Crawfish Company "instruct to physically rinse mud and marsh grit off blue crabs before they hit the boiling pot." As the song say, "You better shop around." I'll be spending my money elsewhere. Y'all can keep your overpriced food and swamp dirt "seasoned crabbage garbage."
