I was led to believe that this company was "helping me out" by giving me a "decent price" on the Honda Accord Hybrid. I had purchased a CRV which was horrific (see 9/8/15 review). Well, I paid 29,995 for the Accord Hybrid plus 6,000 plus in shortages for the pleasure of getting switched from the CRV to the Hybrid. I traded from the CRV to the Hybrid after being assured that it had all of the same safety features, including the CMBS (Collision Brake Mitigation System). Ironically, it DOES NOT. The NEXT model year, the 2017 does, but the 2015 did not. Either someone didn't bother to look or just assumed that it had the same, or didn't care. This feature is very important to me. I had a friend involved in an accident where he rear ended the car in front of him. I wanted the feature for that reason. It kept not working and they swore that it still was there but the car was not sufficiently close and in danger of crashing to brake by itself. It has to be right on top of the other car to stop suddenly, so how do you test that? Then, apart from the lying about major features it does/does not have, the trade value is horrific. I was going to sit through the lack of features but the decrease of value has really shocked me. Imagine my shock when I go to trade it this month and it is worth 18,000 to 20,000 just 15 months after purchase--a decrease in value of 1/3rd in 15 months. So, while I thought these people were doing me a big favor getting out of the CRV, I actually was put into a nightmare with paying up the nose for a two month, low mileage CRV mistake and then paying 30,000 for the second car. I paid higher interest than I had qualified for, and walked out over 7,000 under water. They could have been more generous on the CRV since it was the misstatements of their sales people. NOTE: 1) the car does not automatically stop (brake) when coming up to another car. It has to be going over 30 miles per hour. It gives a useless audible warning and if you have the radio on you can't even hear it. Thus, I was totally given factual errors. Secondly, I take responsibility for trusting the wrong people and trusting what they say about the vehicle. In order to test what they were saying, I would have had to nearly rear end the car in front of me. The salesman went on and on about the resale value. Question: Why are Honda Accord Hybrids depreciating 30 percent in one year? Why is that? Can anyone tell me? read more

After so many follow-ups and calls & visits to get a car from this dealer. Very bad experience, poor management, and sales managers are pathetic and they don't hear customer voice . I will not recommend getting a car from this place rather choose a different location of Honda dealer. People were friendly but watch out when they get to settling on a price. We were looking to buy used while returning our leased Honda. We asked if we could have the lease return waived. We were told to hold the car we were looking at that we needed to sign an initial P&S and we could discuss it the next day during the financial paperwork. We arrived the next day and the saleperson said yes it would, went to finance where again said they would, and when we thought the numbers did not make sense, we again approached the financial person who waived her hand while stating it was given then proceeded to shake my wife's hand. Got home and dived into the numbers where we found that they had indeed added the fee in. When confronted, they said we misunderstood and that it was never mentioned to waive the fee. Even after I showed them a newer signed "Certified" P&S from our financial paperwork meeting where it did not show the fee. And they had already submitted the installment sales paperwork with the fee in. It was just really upsetting that we were lied to three times and then it was said that it was our misunderstanding. They would hand write the fee in if we liked! Also, they could not even get my smartphone to call over Bluetooth and said my phone not comparable although my leased Honda was the same year and had no problem connecting to the same phone. Finally they left out the new floor mats promised and when asked if were to get them, they wanted to put older worn mats that did not even fit. Incredibly disappointed with the service we had on our 2008 Honda Pilot. Took the vehicle in for an internal engine knocking noise, $550 later everything is good to them, but the same noise remains. Have called and left messages with both service manager and client manager and thus far my messages have gone unreturned after nearly 2 weeks. Horrible experience. I was pressured to buy the warranty. And the finance manager said I would be able to get a refund if I decide to change my mind. It's been 3 months!!! They have only gave me 1/3 of the money. I went back twice to see where they were in processing the rest of my refund, twice they kept saying that it was "processing" and later on found out the request was never put in. I called numerous times but always get their voicemails, and they never return my calls. Emailed them too and no response. They're playing games, RUN! go to a different dealership. read more

They were so focused on encouraging me to give them perfect 10's on the Honda survey, they forgot to give me perfect service. I knew exactly what I wanted, the deal was very easy, and yet it took them hours to get my new car ready. While we were waiting, my wife asked if there was a private area where she could feed our son. They directed her to the glassed-in children's play area. While I was waiting, I wanted to buy a snack as I hadn't had lunch yet. Their vending machine only took cash and I only had a credit card. I've never asked for handouts, but I figured I'd be bold enough to see if my salesman had $.75 so I could get myself a bag of chips while I waited. He did not. He also didn't ask a colleague, nor did he offer to give me a ride or let me take a test drive over to a sandwich shop. He just said it'd be another 20 minutes. I was there for about 4 hours! Why was I there for four hours when we knew exactly what we wanted, and we didn't even have to wheel and deal? And then there's the sales tax. They charged me for the sales tax that I had to pay to my local clerk up front. That means that they charged me, only to have to send me all my money back in a check later on. I'm sure there's some obscure accounting reasoning behind that, but I had to keep emailing and calling them to get them to send me said check. I barely got it in time to get the car registered before the temp plates expired. Will I do business here again? I'll do business any place that I can get a good deal. A car is a car. But next time, I'll pack a lunch. read more

MOVE ON AND DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS HONDA DEALERSHIP Absolutely TERRIBLE service and sales. We have had four leases through Dover Honda, and they have never been anything but rude to deal with. They contacted us to turn in our lease early and went on to bounce us around to FIVE different people until they gave us an answer on rolling payments over. When we told them we would NOT roll payments over and would walk away, they were rude and proceeded to speak to us in a snide and sarcastic manner. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning customers this time. We never write negative reviews however we were so disappointed w the service at Dover Honda that we felt it necessary to add feedback. The initial responses were quick and enthusiastic but as soon as we decided to commit to the purchase; service quickly declined when we had specific questions. The salesman we were dealing w was condescending and acted rather shady. He skirted the questions we had about inventory and contracts. He never answered our questions directly and was rather short w us when we questioned mistakes in the paperwork. We ended up calling another Honda dealership and purchased a car from there a week later. The new dealership confirmed that Dover Hondas customer service was questionable at best. Disappointed as we wanted a quick and easy experience but received such horrible customer service we decided to go elsewhere. read more

I called Dover Honda to enquire about purchasing a used car in their inventory. I requested to have the used car looked over by my mechanic, which my mechanic told me is very common. This could have been a quick and easy sale for Dover Honda, as I would have just signed the papers after my mechanic looked it over. However, despite my mechanic being close by, they would not allow me to bring the car to him without signing some sort of purchase agreement. While this is ridiculous, especially since if they were confident in the quality of the vehicle it should have been no problem, the most outrageous thing that happened was how TERRIBLY I was treated by Drake Rickter, in their sales office. He was condescending, argumentative, and insulting to me on the phone. He talked over me and questioned my decisions repeatedly. Maybe he gets away with abusing and manipulating other customers into buying cars, but not me. I would also be incredibly surprised if he treated my husband this was if he had been the one to call. Dover Honda seriously needs to take a look at how they are allowing their employees to treat customers, especially female customers. I am absolutely outraged by how a simple phone called turned into the way I was treated by Drake. Dover Honda just lost a 20k sale and I will be letting all my colleagues at UNH know about my experience here. Good thing CRV's are a dime a dozen, I'll just buy elsewhere. read more

I bought a used subaru from this dealership and I didn't like the sound the brakes were making after a few weeks. I went back and told the Honda service department my concerns. They were amazing listeners and understood my concerns. Even though I bought my car "as is" and didn't buy any extended contracts, the sales and service department worked together and took care of it for me completely free of cost. They are honest and a very stand up organization. I will buy my next vehicle from them and i continue to service my vehicle there. It's so hard to find good customer service these days. read more

Worse experience ever when trying to buy a car. I had a large down payment, preapproval for financing and knew exactly what I wanted. They simply wouldn't budge on their price. The salesman was mad because I wanted to test drive it again but this time without him. This was my second visit and his response was that I already drove it once. He told me several times that he didn't want to even sell me the car cause he wouldn't make enough money. Then he proceeded to tell me how I had wasted his time when I told him I wanted to check out Berlin Honda. He spent maybe a total of 30 mins with me that night and 20 another visit. Buying a car isn't always easy. It shouldn't be so stressful either though. Car sales are hard and if you can't handle it then don't try to be a salesman. I walked out after being treated poorly and received an email a short time later with more $$ of the MSRP. Thanks for the email. Berlin Honda matched that price and the customer service there was amazing in comparison. The salesman at Berlin was well educated on the vehicle unlike the one at Dover Honda. Stay away from this place. The salesman Amrit is sexist. Rude. And arrogant. I found his comments to be unprofessional and inappropriate. Avoid at all costs. read more

This place gets a negative 5 stars! Does anyone honestly like having to spend money on car repairs?? If you do then Dover Honda is a dream come true!!! Myself not so much but in the last 7 months I've personally funded their summer vacation..... They're downright Scammers!!! Pay close attention because they'll overcharge you for everything, change prices on parts but don't tell you, during a repair break parts then make you pay 1/2 to fix it and rush through a job missing things you paid for. The $115.00 diagnostic fee that's supposedly they credit you for when they do the job's your responsibility to check if not they don't give it to you or fake their way into convincing you they did. FYI...They really didn't!!!! In order to truly share all of the ways I've been ripped off and overall experience I'd need to publish a 800 page book!!!! read more

Worst Honda dealership I've ever dealt with overall. The Service Department is absolutely atrocious. Asked for a tire rotation, marked one of the tires to be rotated, and sure enough, it was never moved. Either incompetence or fraud, doesn't matter. Maybe the most simple maintenance, and they failed. Called in, 3 times in 3 hours, and got voicemail. Left my name and number for a callback, and nothing. Called the main number. The poor receptionist had to walk over to try to find someone in the Service Dept to pick up the phone, and could not find anyone. I left a voicemail with my name and number for the General Manager, and likewise, didn't get a call back. At least they made it a very easy decision to never do business with them again. read more

I wish I could give these guys "No Star". After visiting 5 other dealers in the area, Dover Honda was the worse BY FAR. It's really a shame since Honda is my favorite line of cars. All I wanted to do was test drive a Honda Pilot instead I got a rookie salesperson who was more into getting my personal financial information written down than allowing me a test drive the car. After wasting time filling out paperwork, I had a second sales person, a "SALES MANAGER" come out to tell me I couldn't afford to buy the car I wanted to test drive. Very unprofessional. Folks, i own a business, i can pay cash for my cars, I don't have to finance. Do your self a favor and visit Grappone Honda instead, I have bought cars from them before and would never had this kind of treatment! read more

I came in an hour before close on a Saturday to test drive a CRV. The saleswoman during the test drive mentioned she was the service manager before switching to sales as she didn't want to "work with millennials" in the sales department. I thought that was an odd comment, considering I am in that generation and am willing to spend my money on a car at her dealership. Regardless... she gave me some numbers and was able to answer questions about the used cars. Maybe it was that we were coming too close to the closing hour, but I found her to be curt and unwilling to negotiate whatsoever (especially on the used cars, which did not have a significant difference between the new model and used price). I even told her that I was looking at blue book value and she rolled off some bs about how they probably take into account military discounts and how they spend thousands of dollars of year on software that prices to make them competitive, just basically throwing my information aside and not budging. I'm disappointed because my father has bought all of his cars there and yet they weren't even interested in trying to make a deal. I found her comments to be condescending and I felt rushed during the test drive. I won't be going back. read more

Sales person was friendly and personable but everyone else in the purchase process needs to take a lesson allowing people to say "no." Very disappointed in buying experience. Bought the vehicle for my wife and she want to return it because of the lousy customer service. Dover Honda took good care of me after I bought 2 new cars and then quickly realized one of them was not the right fit for my family's needs. It was 2 days after the sale and they had no legal obligation to unwind the sale. I was very grateful when they agreed to unwind the sale (basically undo the paperwork as if it never happened) and work with me get into a more suitable vehicle. I brought back a new Civic and purchased a Ridgeline truck. Although the new purchase was significantly higher than the return, they did not need to take the Civic back as if I never bought it. They could have treated it like a used trade in and I would have lost at least $2k, but they didn't. They gave me a fair competitive price on the Ridgeline truck too. They do care about their customers being satisfied. They do want repeat customers. The sales manager, Alan, personally called me and was very gracious. My salesperson, Charley, was extremely helpful and pleasant throughout the process. I would recommend Dover Honda. I could not be any happier with the new civic I leased for my daughter and the new Ridgeline truck I purchased for myself. They both ride beautifully and make you smile when you sit behind the wheel. The Ridgeline truck is by far the smoothest riding truck I have ever driven - and stylish. The lease rate on the civic and purchase price of the truck were the best prices I could find in a 100 mile radius and that came with zero haggling. I am completely satisfied with both vehicles. After taking my 2008 Honda Civic to 2 other repair shops for A/C service and being less-than-satisfied, I decided to take it Dover Honda. I was able to get an appointment within 2 days of calling. It was a bit confusing when I pulled in for the first time, trying to find the door to enter the service department, but someone in the bay helped me. After getting checked-in, I worked on my laptop in the waiting area, which is very modern and well done - inexpensive vending machines, free coffee and water, great Wifi, high-quality sofas/chairs and even cubicles with really nice desk chairs. In less than an hour they diagnosed the issue and gave me a detailed summary of my options. After choosing to replace the entire compressor, they immediately set me up with a new CR-V loaner car. Before end of day they finished the job, and the price came in a bit less than they estimated. They also washed the car. Overall, it wasn't cheap, but I feel the value was good and I'd definitely take my car back again for complex repairs. read more

I emailed their dealership about a used car they had taken in on trade the same day (Monday). I had met the previous owner, and was familiar with the car. When I didn't hear back by the next day (Tuesday), I called, and was assured someone would contact me by the following day (Wednesday). No call. On Thursday, I received an auto-reply message from the general manager about how they were eager to "earn my business", etc., and that I would be attended to shortly. Still nothing, so I actually drove down to the dealership (they were closed) and saw the car was in fact still there. Now today (Saturday) I call yet again, and the sales guy mentioned how either A) The car had been wholesaled moments ago, and/or B) They don't like to sell 'As Is' vehicles to the public (which I can understand, since most folks don't know how to work on cars anyway). Instead of wasting my time all week, wouldn't it have been easier to simply say that at the onset, or at least give me the chance to buy the thing? I've always said, wouldn't it be great to have so much business you can ignore customers whenever you feel like it? read more

I bought a certified pre owned 2013 Honda Pilot along with the 100,000 mile extended warranty. I love the vehicle, and I know some folks advise against it, but I am glad I purchased the extended warranty. Because I have had several costly repairs that have been covered under it already (tie rods, struts, etc.). My pet peeve is this, why is it that I have to inform the service advisor that I have the extended maintenance agreement when they call to advise of issues they have found? This has happened several times, in fact, every time one of those service issues came up, and with different advisors. They should be advising me of this issue and telling me, .."not to worry though, because that is covered under your extended maintenance agreement..". Instead, I have to inform them that I have one, they have to research and confirm that, and then determine if the repair is covered. Leads me to believe if I was somehow clueless that I purchased the extended agreement, and said nothing, I would be unjustly charged for the repairs that are covered under contract. It bugs me. Fix this Dover Honda. Other than this I have had no issues. read more
