Just learned they will not service or sell you a vehicle based on your political affiliation! I've been a customer for years as well as my dad. My dad's been a friend of the owner for 25 years, bought and serviced many vehicles over the years. However, because my dad voted for "the other candidate" the NBAC refuses to work with him anymore. Back when I was 16 and had to buy my first car I went here. It was a wonderful Hyundai Sonata and unfortunatly only 6 months later it met it's untimely death at the hands of two moose. Yes I hit two moose with a Hyundai and lived to share my story with you all. The car itself was fantastic. So I went back and bought another, and another and another. All in all my family has bought something like 9 cars from North Berwick Auto Center. Josh and Jeremy are fantastic, nice, honest used car salesmen. Not only do they do sales but they also do repairs. They are always fair, reasonable and helpful. Last week my Jeep Liberty I bought from them was making a strange sound when I turned. I called Josh and it was stuck in 4 wheel drive. He talked me through getting it unstuck on the phone. Any car repair shop in Boston charges $60 or more just to diagnose. They have what I refer to as the "non vulture approach" to car sales. Many car lots I have stepped on someone magically starts stalking you and pursueding you into something you may or may not even want. Not these guys. Look around, go inside, tell them what you want to test drive and they will give you the keys. Easy as that! read more

We were on our way home to NY on a Friday afternoon after spending the week in Maine for family vacation. We had 2 lights come on in our car, which happens to be over 10 years old. We called around to a quite a few mechanics, and no one would take us. These great people took the time to check out our car, make sure it was ok to get home and gave us notes on what to tell our local mechanic. These guys are so awesome that I feel compelled to write a review due to being happy with the service and professional courtesy I received from them. Ryan and Josh were great, no pressure, and went out of their way to give me one of the best car dealer experience I've ever had. I've dealt with dealerships on at least 5 occasions within the last 6 years and NBAC is by far the best, bar-none. After running the numbers with the bank, called me and came close to my magic number after initially missing the mark. Needless to say, we closed the deal over the phone as he was able to pull something off with the numbers. Since they already had all my info, Josh prepped the paperwork before my arrival. I was driving my new car after 15-20 minutes after arriving. Oh, and he did this when they had been closed for 2 hours already, essentially bending over backwards to accommodate my schedule. And this wasn't the first time I've kept them past closing hours; they gave me the keys for test drives when I was there the previous week, well past closing time. No frowns or sighs, but with a smile and courteous demeanor. I will be recommending them to all my friends and family. If you're looking at this review, you're pretty much the type that researches first before jumping in. I'm the same way and I will tell you, corporate dealerships need to take a lesson from NBAC on customer service and professionalism. After driving over 2 hours from our home for a family camping trip, our car started overheating - steaming and leaking fluid all over the ground. After asking around for close-by mechanic recommendations, we called North Berwick Auto, and I'm very glad we did! Not only did they have our car fixed within 8 hours of dropping it off, but they gave my husband a ride back to camp (and to the store for supplies), called within about an hour, and explained every detail along the way so we knew what we were being charged for. As people not from the area, in a panic that the car wouldn't be ready for our departure, we were so pleased with how kind and fair these guys were. The service was phenomenal, and I couldn't recommend them more! read more

I stumbled onto this dealership when shopping for a 2011 Saab 9-5 and I'm glad I did! Well worth the ride from the Greater Boston area (about an hour). These guys are straight shooters, VERY low pressure (actually, no pressure at all), very accommodating (as I was coming from out of state) plus I got a very fair deal/reasonable price on the car to boot! Recently purchased a 2013 VW from these guys and couldn't be more pleased with the entire process from start to finish. They knew I was set on the car from the beginning but didn't hold it over my head in any way. The price was incredibly reasonable and all their vehicles are in pristine condition. Ryan the salesman was everything you would want in a professional setting, let alone as a salesman. They even had an extra key made at the end without any prompt free of charge. I had looked online, and found the car I was interested in, a Volvo S-60. I was very happy to see that North Berwick Auto Center had the exact car that I wanted, because I was familiar with the organization, and I really didn't want to go to a big dealership with pushy salespeople. I called, and spoke with Eric, and went to see the car after work that day. I drove the car, and decided on the spot that I wanted it. Eric pulled everything together the next day, and I picked it up that evening. It was a pleasure, which I've never said before about buying a car. Everyone I encountered at North Berwick Auto Center was friendly and pleasant, but I can't say enough good things about working with Eric. He was friendly, professional, and not the least bit pushy or aggressive. I absolutely LOVE the car -- in fact, the morning after I bought it, I drove 250 miles to upstate New York. North Berwick Auto Center makes a lot of sense for a few reasons. They don't mind walking away from auctions empty handed. Meaning, they look for great cars and they keep consumer prices low. They refuse to by junk. The prices are fine, but you can get low prices anywhere. Dealerships are very competitive. The people are incredible and Josh and Ryan (Louis) get it. They aren't our to rob you, but try to make sure everyone walks away happy. Plus, they aren't creepy, but down to Earth and understand the consumer. Furthermore, there's never pressure to buy. Sometimes things don't work out. But they'll do everything they can to get you into a car you like. All the above is fine, but here's why you should buy a car here. The mechanics are awesome! They'll own any reasonable problem that comes up and make it right. Lets dive a bit deeper. Barry, the guy working the counter has over 50 years working with cars. He wont let a car leave the shop that's not in very good working order. Josh, the sales guy started out selling hub caps when he was 14 or so. he's definitely come up through the ranks They both love cars and they both are normal and neither mess around when it comes to quality and safety. Baker (Mechanic) doesn't pick and choose what to fix, he tells you what's going on, will show you and let you make the decision. If you're having a tough time with it, he'll explain it. If he doesn't, Barry or the new counter guy, I think his name is Jason will explain everything in simple terms. You're never confused about what's going on or blind sided with a huge bill. You get to make a very educated decision. I also like that they detail every car they sell and sometimes cars they service. The detailers are great at what they do. There you have it. If you want a responsive sales persons and incredible mechanical work at a ridiculously reasonable price, try this place. If you want someone to go through hoops for financing, go here.
