I took my truck to Bartels for an oil change, and was told my serpentine belt was about to fail. Imminently. They sent me a video (as if I know what a good serpentine belt looks like) and made a big show of how I would not want that to fail in this weather... I'd be stranded... couldn't run the heat, etc. It sounded very grim. Because I've been "little lady-ed" (IYKYK) before, I took it to Last Chance. They did a thorough inspection and said that my serpentine belt showed no cracks, wasn't slipping, wasn't making any weird noises and basically, was fully operational. When it does eventually need replacing, you can bet I will take it to Ron and the team at Last Chance and I won't be returning to Bartels. Ever.

I have a 82 Sedan DeVille that had an engine rebuild 2 years ago (different shop, now out of business). I needed more engine work an found Last Chance online. I was on the waiting "list" for 3 months. When Ron finally agreed to take the car in, he stated that it was probably going to need a new engine without ever seeing or listening to the car. When he asked my name, he said he knew someone with a similar sounding name who was Jewish, and asked if I was Jewish. I said yes. The more I thought about how he prejudged the car and how he prejudged me for being Jewish, I decided I didn't was Ron touching the Jew's Cadillac and canceled the pickup.
