Old school barber shop. I've been hopping around to various barber shops trying to get a decent flat top haircut. Most of the cuts I've gotten are flat top adjacent. I saw the reviews for Doug's and I called to make an appointment. I arrived about 10 minutes early and Doug was just finishing up with another customer. When it was my turn I sat down in the chair and I explained I was on a quest for a decent flat top. Doug proceeded to explain the intricacies of the flat top and why it was a difficult style. As he was cutting my hair he said I had the perfect head shape for a flat top. When he was done I looked in the mirror and was amazed. I have a new barber. read more

Quiet, friendly place that gives great haircuts. Eric listens and produces the changes that I want in my hairstyle.

Every time I walk in their door it takes me back to the late 50's when I was 10 or 11 and going into Bill's Barber Shop with a dollar and a quarter in my pocket to get a flattop. Today I don't have enough hair for that flattop but the guys do a great job of keeping me looking my best. The conversation is always, shall I say, interesting and good hearted. When I walk out the door I'm tempted to reach up and rub my fingers across that flattop for old times sake. They even have the lollipops just like Bill did. read more

A welcoming and comfortable environment. Doug did my haircut very well and would recommend.

Hate to leave a bad review, but c'mon, I could've done a better job at home with the buzzer. I didn't realize a kids haircut would be so complicated. The folks working here are kind and accommodating but I won't be returning with my son. His hair looks terrible! read more

The best in Town! I have been going for over 7+ years and appreciate the good old fashioned haircut by true barbers. Still one of the few that will end the haircut with a straight blade. I am a big fan and surprised there are no reviews already. So I am here to correct this missing review. Doug's Barber Shop 27924 152nd Ave SE Kent, WA 98042 (253) 638-7460 Hours are: Tuesday to Friday 9am - 6pm Saturday 8am - 3pm Closed: Sunday and Monday Say hi to Doug and his son Eric for me! Located near Lake Meridian in Kent, WA off 272nd (Kent Kangley Rd) turn South on 152nd Ave and turn left on the corner of 152nd and SE 280th St. Note: this is the same Doug's that was located just off Maple Valley Hwy (3+ years ago) and also in Covington some 10+ years ago. read more

I've been going to Doug's for about 9 months now, and Rick has always given me great service and a great haircut.

Select any day other than Tuesday. The phone rings incessantly. The secondary barber has to answer and if your barber is secondary good luck on the outcome of your cut. read more

This place is what a barbershop should be. 3 chairs and three guys who know what they are doing. My barber retired and after 26 years I didn't have one. I tried 2 others, not what I was looking for. After a short discussion about what I wanted we were off to the races. The conversation was great and In no time I walked out with a great haircut and a new barber. They are busy but well worth the wait. I thank my wife for finding them for me. read more

A real barbershop. Where men get their hair cut. End of story. You won't see fancy fades or undercuts here. They could probably do that, but why? Are you a child? You're a man. Come get a man's haircut. And feel manly all the way home. Until your wife puts you in your place. read more

I've been looking for a traditional barber, and was super happy to find one right in my own backyard. My barber Dennis had an experienced hand, was friendly, and gave me a fantastic low-fade haircut (my first). AND he didn't freak out in any way when I realized that payment was cash or check (and I had only my visa and google-pay on me). He just said to pay up when I was next out and about. (I went to the ATM at the nearby Fred Meyer and returned with payment right away, in fact). I'll definitely be going back. read more

Went once -won't go again. Loved the barber shop atmosphere. Ended there. Semi decent haircut, but honestly a monkey could cut my hair if he knows how to use a number 2 clipper. Went in mainly for a beard trim before a business trip after calling to confirm that they "do them all the time". Left with an uneven beard, mustache trimmed on right side down to skin and a thin line and general unevenness overall. And of course just like with a bad haircut the only way to fix a bad beard trim is to even it out and start over again. 7 months of growth trimmed back to a weeks growth when I got home to salvage what I could. Maybe decent for a standard haircut and shooting the breeze but don't let them near your face! For me, one and done read more

Awesome haircuts and awesome conversation. Been going to Doug's for years and always get a great cut from any of the barbers. Doug's is what all barbershops should be like. So grateful that they continue to stay open through the pandemic although I do miss the straight razor cut that they finish the haircut with - hopefully when the pandemic is over, this comes back read more

I had high hopes for this place. But unfortunately it was probably the worst haircut of my life. To start, I ask for a #3 on the sides. His response... "we don't use plastic attachments so how long do you think that is?" Not a good start. I also asked for the top to be a little longer than the sides. Well it wasn't until I got home that I realized that the top is super patchy! One section is finger-width long, another is 2 inches long! Friendly guys. And I wanted it to be good. But unfortunately I will be finding a barber somewhere else. read more

Went in twice. One time I was with a gentleman that did a great job and the next time I went in to see a different Barber and got one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. I had to go get another haircut later that week. It took almost 2 months to grow it back out so everything was even. I like the atmosphere of the old school Barber Shop and the location is great. But it's hard to want to go. Back in and take a chance. read more

Been going to Doug's for decades, all of the barbers are great, they always make me look sharp.

Are you a guy and sick of going to salons where you get your hair cut by chicks who don't understand what a "trim" or a "man's haircut" is? You know what I mean, you go and ask for "a little off the top" and they cut your hair into some Bieber looking mop or a spike? When you are over 20 and they are cutting your hair like you are about to get your HS Senior pics? Doug's is your answer. It's a refuge from salons. Sports on the tube, magazines a MAN would read, and genuine guy talk. On top of that [GASP!] they know how to cut MEN'S hair. Do yourself a favor and get your hair cut the way your dad's and grandpa's used to. At a REAL barbershop! read more

Best Barber Shop around. You get the full experience, the friendly clientel the knowledgeable barber. They do Beard trims and straight razor clean ups. You will be well taken care of here. read more

I love this place. The guys are really great and experts in what they do. They always remember you after just the first visit, and do an incredible job. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and is a local business worth supporting. Skip the overpriced and franchised salon, you deserve a good haircut! read more

I took my 2 year old son to this shop. Love the shop as soon as you walk in. very classic feel to it, the smell and sounds take me back to my days as a kid when I used to go with my father to get a haircut. the barbers were friendly and professional. Eric cut my son's hair. My son did not move around or cry, he stayed calm and still the whole time. eric was very through. they also have toys to keep the kids entertained. excellent work. will be bringing my son back again. read more

I have been in this shop off and on over the past ten years (it used to be off of Hwy 169 - same guys different building). I always get a great cut for a great price and they throw in mustache goatee trim for free. I would go there every time but my schedule often leaves me stuck with what I can find near my office in Auburn where I usually pay the same for a lesser cut and no free mustache / goatee trim. read more

I was satisfied with the quality of the haircut but the price was shockingly high ($21 for a five-minute buzz cut). Due to time constraints I ended up staying but I have since found another place to do the same job for half the price. read more
