My husband recently had something like a "shade" suddenly appear and block the upper field of…read morevision in his right eye. Of course, this happened after hours on a Friday evening. We did a bit of a search online, and it seemed he likely had a torn/detached retina. The Mayo Clinic website said it was an emergency and needed to be treated asap. Therefore, my husband called the large Littleton eye practice we'd been using the last 4 years. It was ~7:00 pm. The answering service told him the docs there work m-f from 8-5 - call back Monday morning. Husband told her he thinks he has a detached retina, that it's an emergency, don't they have any provision to see an established patient experiencing an emergency, and she repeated, "call back Monday morning." Meanwhile, I was searching "emergency eye care" online, and Eye Consultants of Colorado in Conifer (15 minutes from our home) was the first result. With very low hopes that he'd get an answer different from the last, I passed the phone number to my husband. Dr. Scott Morris answered the phone (@7:15 pm Friday evening). He listened to my husband's description of what was happening with his eye, and asked him to meet at his office in 30 minutes! Dr. Morris opened his office for Richard, did a thorough exam and confirmed that he did have a detached retina that needed attention asap. He connected Richard with a great retina surgeon/specialist who saw him the next morning, did all the preop tests and performed the surgery Monday morning. Richard's eye is healing really well, and we cannot thank Dr. Morris enough for how well he handled this emergency. I can't imagine Richard would have had the surgery as quickly as he did without Dr. Morris' help. It's been 3 weeks now, and we are (obviously) former patients of the large Littleton eye practice (who did call back the following Tuesday!), and happy to be new patients of Dr. Morris. My husband was examined and fitted for new glasses (since surgery changed his vision Rx). He reports it was an excellent experience. Everyone working with Dr. Morris has been caring, helpful and very professional. We've told all our friends and neighbors about Dr. Morris' practice. Aside from saving us a lot of extra driving time/miles, he definitely feels extremely well cared for and confident we now have the very best eye doctor! Highly recommend!

I received excellent care for many years, including very successful laser treatment, and this office was widely trusted by professional athletes and long-term Denver patients alike. After both doctors retired and the practice was sold, I returned in July after moving back to Denver for an annual exam with a new doctor. While the clinical exam itself was fine, the administrative experience was not. After paying in full for my exam, I requested my eyeglass prescription so I could obtain reading glasses and was refused due to unexplained billing and insurance issues. I was then told I would need to schedule and pay for another appointment instead. Under federal rules, eyeglass prescriptions must be released after an exam regardless of insurance status. The inability to explain charges while withholding my own prescription felt administratively hostile and unnecessarily obstructive. Unfortunately, this is not the practice it once was. I've chosen to move my care elsewhere and would caution others to be aware of potential administrative barriers when requesting records or prescriptions

I'm certainly not making another appointment (when you're already over a month out) for someone else. Why would I do that? Well, I won't, so I guess I'll move on. After paying $4,500 for a surgery that was supposed to correct my vision, I am left with worse eyesight than before. After the first surgery, my prescription was incorrect, and I was told I'd need to wait six months for a follow-up surgery on one eye. During that entire waiting period, my vision was extremely uneven and blurry. I was traveling overseas during much of that time, and it was very difficult and uncomfortable trying to function day-to-day without being able to see clearly. What made it even more frustrating was that I was not offered any temporary solution to help me see better while I waited. When I finally had the second surgery, I hoped things would improve. Unfortunately, my eyesight is still not good. I never had a problem with close-up vision before LASIK, but now I need reading glasses at all times just to see up close -- and my distance vision is still not clear. At my most recent appointment, I was simply handed a prescription for glasses. To be told that after paying $4,500 for LASIK, I should now spend more money on glasses to fix what the surgery was supposed to do, feels unacceptable. I regret having LASIK done here and wish I had gone elsewhere. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone considering LASIK.
