I think there are three entrances or parking areas with direct access to the walking trail. I usually park at the Fayette County Cooperative Extension office, off of Red Mile. In addition to the walking trail, there is also a tennis court, basketball court, and playground area. The only bad thing about the park are that some of the people that I've encountered. Examples... one time I walked into someone passed out on the pavement. Hey, I can't judge too much, I may or may not have passed out on pavement before. It's just not something I like running into, unexpectedly mid afternoon. The last time that I was there I heard a lady screaming, cussing and practically badgering her toddler aged child. WTH?! Keep it at least a little classy, Lexington.

The only downside with the gym is sometimes it will get too busy and there will be a wait time for machines, but there's loads of different variations if you need them, other than that it is amazing. The recreational center has more than the gym itself, it also has exercise class rooms like cycling and zumba, multiple basketball courts, an indoor track, and even a rock climbing wall with staff to help newcomers. Overall this center has something for everyone and I have personally loved my experiences here. I would positively recommend this space to anyone looking to meet new people or just fill time in your day.

It's mostly college students here at Kentucky. Most of the negative online reviews focus on the gym's layout, which is next to the basketball courts, and I would have to agree that this is probably the gym's weakest point. I don't like that there are two floors to the gym and that it is so crowded. But if you go at the right time, I'm sure it's similar to every gym. Other than that, there aren't many negative things I could say about it. I've enjoyed my experiences so far and plan to keep going to the Johnson Center in the future.
