This dealership has restored my faith! The staff is so welcoming and friendly. They have really nice loaner cars, I didn't want my car back after driving them. They were very helpful, professional, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure my car was good as new and I was happy and safe to be on the road. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you Dominic and all the other staff members at Douglas Volkswagen, I am another loyal and happy customer. read more

Extremely disappointing experience with Douglas Motors VW I truly regret buying my 2021 Volkswagen Atlas from Douglas Motors Corp. Less than a year after purchase, the check engine light came on, and after several visits, I was told there was carbon buildup on the intake valves -- a well-known issue in VW engines. What makes this worse is that when I first brought the car in, they cleared the warning light without doing any real repair, and told me everything was fine. The light came back the very next day. Then, instead of honoring their warranty or taking responsibility, they quoted me $1,400 + tax for a repair that should have been addressed during the warranty period. Communication with their staff was frustrating and inconsistent. Every time I tried to get straight answers, I got different excuses. The dealership seems more interested in pushing sales than standing behind the vehicles they sell. I've already filed a complaint with Volkswagen of America and the BBB because customers deserve honesty, not avoidance and blame-shifting. If you value transparency, accountability, and integrity -- please avoid this dealership. They treat customers like a problem, not a priority. read more

I had a great experience at the Douglas VW service center - Brian Ardente was amazing to work with. My tire unexpectedly blew out (on the turnpike). I showed up frazzled, as the shop was about to close, but Brian and some of the shop employees stayed late to install two new tires and get my car back to normal. I wasn't charged extra BS fees or pushed unnecessary services, which has happened at other VW dealerships. My experience with Brian and the whole Douglas team was great, and I will be returning to service my Beetle there regularly. read more

It's rare that the car-buying customer experience exceeds your expectations and you walk away feeling the dealer was on your side. That was my recent experience purchasing our Atlas SEL-Premium at Douglas VW of Summit, thanks to my exceptional, customer-focused Master Sales Consultant, Vlad, and the rest of the team in my corner (Rich, Chet, Lou, and Matt). Vlad was highly communicative, responsive, and transparent through the buying process. He and his team did everything they could to make it easy, build my trust, and put together a highly competitive deal I was thrilled with. I'd highly recommend buying your next VW at Douglas--where the customer experience is paramount (so rare these days) and you're treated like the dealer's top priority from start to finish, not just another sale. read more

First & foremost let me just say that the experience at this dealership (especially as a first time auto buyer / owner) was IMMACULATE to say the least. I was assisted by the wonderful Flo & it was by far the most amazing experience and recommendation ever. She was patient, informative & did the best she could to literally get me the best deal in everything that had to deal with my vehicle. ALL THE WHILE multitasking and making sure that ALL customers received equal treatment. She got me out of there in record time as I was expecting to leave after dusk from every one's usual experiences. The attentiveness from the staff was wonderful. I was greeted at the door and even received snacks & drinks during my wait. The process was truly nothing short of amazing & they have gained a life long customer. Thank you guys for the amazing service, the great options, & for helping me find the perfect vehicle for me! Again, Flo was TOP TIER & going anywhere else would truly be a disservice to yourself. Shop Douglas Volkswagen or don't shop at all. read more

I sold my car to these guys a year ago. It was registered in NY. They never surrendered the plates and haven't been able to help me prove they've been surrendered. It's been over a year, I've had to pay $2000+ in insurance on a car that I no longer own because insurance won't release the policy on a car that still shows it's registered to me in the NYDMV. Hoping a negative review will actually get someone to help, but thinking it won't. read more

I had such an amaaazing experience at this Volkswagon when compared to another in the same area. They were trustworthy, knowledgeable, and very respectful. We had a great experience at Douglas VW working with James. He was knowledgeable without being pushy and after spending the day at several other dealerships, we wound up getting our car with him - got a good deal and love our car. Would recommend! read more

I purchased a leased vehicle at Douglas Volkswagen. To get over on me. They gave me a 5 year lease. They gave me the lease on a memory drive. I have never seen any do business this way. I was reeled in by one of the receptions name Patricia. Then I met Flo who helped me with obtaining a car. I traded my 2010 Mercedes in the value was $4000. I didn't check my lease on the memory drive for a whole year. Due to my hours at work I couldn't make it there. I looked at the lease and was floored me. I am paying for car insurance through them and paying my own. It's a rip off. Unheard of practices. Please be careful. read more

After dealing with so many sneaky car dealerships/sales representatives, I am surprised I am able to give any a 5. Mike Tuzzo, our sales rep, was great from the start. We did not have to wait when we arrived for our appointment. He was pleasant, down-to-earth and not at all pushy. After test driving the car, he listened to our concerns and was willing to address them before purchase. When I was hesitant about something, he even spoke to his manager who then came and allowed us a day to test-drive the vehicle so that we would feel comfortable with our purchase. Mike was very clear about pricing and made an effort to work with our budget (ex: Since the car we were interested in was a Mazda CX5, we told him we would need to get it inspected by a Mazda service center and he was able to negotiate the price down in order to compensate for that additional cost). The only reason we did not purchase the car from them was because it was missing one feature that I could not compromise on. I was very impressed Douglas' Volkswagen customer service and would highly recommend them. After visiting 10+ dealerships in the past month, I can honestly say that this was by far the best experience. Additional fees as of 06/2020: Doc fee $469 NJ Motor Vehicle fee $140 (For the used Mazda we were considering, the price was the same whether financing or paying cash) read more

IRENE & DOMINIC ARE PHENOMENAL!!!! I went in for an oil change, met with Service Manager Dominic, and he gave me the real deal. This maybe the worst dealership in the world. The service center is careless and incompetent. Stay clear!, purchase your cars elsewhere! Most recently my lease was expiring. I reached out to the dealership about my expiring lease and purchasing a new vehicle. They were so unhelpful and winded up purchasing a car at another VW dealership. Brought the new VW in for a warranty claim and they refused to cover it! Claiming I caused the failure! Such incompetence its amazing they are still in business! I've been bringing my car for service to Douglas for years, and even though I know their prices are way higher than other repair shops, I always felt that my peace of mind was worth it - that is, until my last visit this past January. On my last service they told me I needed to have the arms replaced, because it was worn out and causing an uneven wear in my tires , but back then I didn't have the time to leave it and said I would bring back. I ended up taking it to my friend's repair shop, because the dealership wouldn't answer the phone or my emails during the pandemic, and solved the issue. When I was back at Douglas this time, and after my car was inspected, Brian brought to my attention that the arms needed to be replaced, to which I responded that I had already done so. I told him I was very surprised and would text my mechanic right away to find out what happened. A couple minutes later, he came to the lounge area and changed the story, he said that the arms were replaced indeed, but that they were wearing out again. So, the arms were good for years, and then I need to replace them once again after 7 months of use. Really??!! That same day I was also told to replace the rotors and pads, I asked them to change the pads only and Brian said that wasn't possible because my rotors were rusty. Days later there was a snowstorm and my new rotors were covered in rust - I asked a friend about it and he said it is completely normal to have rusty rotors and that they only need to be replaced when they're giving you trouble, which of course wasn't my case. So, I probably shelled out almost $600 for a brake job that wasn't even needed, not to mention that they told me I would have to wait about 2 - 2.5 hours and it took them 3.5. I'm truly disappointed about this place and I'm never bringing my car again, or buying a new one at their dealership. They lost me. read more

When it came to buying a VW Atlas we visited Douglas VW and saw Vlad in sales. He was professional and super friendly. When asking about the different trims he was able to rattle off the differences and couldn't have been more helpful and professional. In today's times of chip shortages, it is MSRP however they don't charge all the bs extra fees and was very straightforward buying. Also worked with Lou closing the transaction and he was well prepared and ready for me to sign the documents and get me out in my new Atlas. When picking the Atlas Vlad was again super friendly and helpful in reviewing the auto. Highly recommend this dealer to anyone in the market for a VW and must-see Vlad. read more

I recently purchased a VW Atlas Cross Sport. Two things - first, I worked with James Deutschkron during the shopping process - he was traffic. He gave valuable guidance when I was trying to decide between models. Second, the Atlas Cross Sport is amazing. Again - I thanks James, because he was so knowable about the choices and did me a huge favor pointing me to that car. Third, the Dealership (Douglas) made the transaction very transparent and seamless. They were very fair in the pricing, particularly given the current supply environment. read more

Everything went smoothly during my first visit to Douglas VW. I bought a low miles 2019 Golf Alltrack at a non-VW dealer and wanted to get the oil changed and have the car looked over. I also mentioned a strange noise I was hearing from the rear. Dominic, the service advisor, had the car checked out and it turns out they were able to diagnose it and help me schedule it for a warranty repair at a future date. The oil change was fine, of course. Everyone was friendly, and I'll be glad to return in the future. I typically do my own maintenance, but the oil change is not expensive, so it may make sense to simply take it back here in the future to save time. read more

Months ago when I was in the market, this dealership stood out because they sold the golf r at msrp. There was no markup unlike at many other "stealerships". Also, they even let people test drive golf R's which was also apparently a rare thing for dealerships to do (I don't know about now) given how rare these cars are and how some people pre-order before even seeing it in the dealership. read more

I have purchased/leased from many dealerships over the years and I have to say my experience at Douglas VW was 5 stars!!!! From the moment we walked in the door and met Jeremey who was just one of the nicest people you could meet. We then got introduced to Rich the VP who was also extremely nice and professional. We closed the deal and went to finance and were done in minutes! Everyone had masks on and glass barriers on the desks. We had our 7 year old with us and she had a blast. I love being asked to spend money to go to a dealership and sit in the showroom for three hours completely ignored by the bearded sales jerk who didn't even want to try to sell me what I wanted to spend my hard earned money to buy. I'm seriously hating the thought that I was convinced to do that twice. Your sales staff is hurting your business by being completely unwilling to work with the customers and use the information and documents they provide. The secrecy between your sales reps and the finance guys and keeping conversations and information about the customer private is concerning and aggravating. Clearly to stating the finance obligations to your customers is necessary to save them time and money visiting a dealership with a horrible reputation. The time wasted with going to your dealership despite your sales team stating things that were untrue and not factual is cause to not trust things your team says. read more

My experience at this dealership was amazing. I had a 5 year old Passat I was ready to trade in and started shopping around and like many people I was skeptical due to the reputation car dealerships have. However, not only was I impressed with the friendliness since my first phone call but after meeting with Isaac I realized this was the dealership for me. He was able to find the exact car I wanted, color, interior and trim. He walked me through the process when I stopped by on my lunch break and when I went back 3 days later the process was short, easy and very transparent. He got me the price I wanted, miles and made everyone so easy. I had been trying to land an ID.4 for a couple months. I'd called every VW dealer in NJ to get on their lists! One day while I was still in bed I receive a text saying there are going to be three available but that I had to call in now! As soon as I saw the message, I called James to hopefully snag one. He was still on his way into work, but he only had two left. The Kings Red w/Gradient had already been claimed. Thankfully I had always been partial to the blue and did not consider the Gradient package worth the extra $1500. Once he got in I put my $500 deposit down. I asked if there were going to be "market adjustments" and he said there wouldn't be. I was a bit skeptical about this, as I had recently walked out of a nearby Hyundai dealer after seeing an $8k markup on a Kona EV. I was told it would be about a week and a half for it to come in. A couple days later I get a text saying it was coming in the next day! Way ahead of schedule. I would be able to get it on that Friday. The experience at the dealer was very pleasant. I had to wait a bit for the car to charge but thankfully I wasn't in a hurry. James was as pleasant to deal with in reality as he was on the phone and the finance guy was not skeevy like the one I'd dealt with when I got my Toyota three years ago. I was just there and feel sick to my stomach after talking to one of the people at the service department Steve Tsekouras. What a nasty man with an attitude, bad energy that no one should tolerate. His body language and the tone of his voice, just the way he talked to me, made me feel belittled and embarrassed. Not something customer who bought his first VW should experience. Alright! It was good when I was driving through Summit everyday and could just stop by to schedule a service appointment, but now when I don't.. the receptionist connects me to my service guy, I leave a message, and no one ever calls me back! What's the point of voice mail? I understand you're busy, but I am in part the reason you're actually busy. Otherwise, service is good, though surely overpriced. Also, I bought my car from them and I love it, the purchase went with no problems either. But generally speaking, purchase is one time event in *their* interest, and service is something I have to deal with from time to time, and it just has been frustrating. read more

I just picked up my car, and I am very impressed with Rick Szucs and the entire Service Department at Douglas Volkswagen. There were a few reasons why a normal dealership would have given me sub-par service: My Jetta has 83,000 miles and is outside of warranty, so not much money to be made off me. Also, I am not actively in the market for a new car, so again, not much money to make off me. I was coming in off-the-street as a one-time customer, who was looking to get a couple recall items fixed on my car. All that to say, I was shocked with how well I was treated by Douglas Volkwagen. They treated me like a loyal and valued customer. They even did more work that I asked: a free synthetic oil change, car wash, and loaner vehicle. Their appointment process was a breeze and service was zippy and punctual. They followed up with an email survey just now. Incredible experience.
