My husband was looking for a PCP that's African American since high blood pressure and other pre-existing conditions are better treated by doctors of the same ethnic background. We love Dr. Webber and have been working with him for the past 3-4 years. The staff at that time was very courteous and attentive to the patients needs, however the staff has changed over the years and they have not find the right person to run the place, medications are not refilled on time (my husband sees the Dr. every 6 months) lab orders are not entered on time, several times this has happened several times, this past weekend same thing happened labs were not ordered even though it was said they were. It's so sad that the practice is being held back by the staff. read more

Dr Webber and his team always take care of me. He is genuine and calm and answers all the (many) questions I have. He is skilled and humble!

The low rating is NOT because of the doctor. It's because of one of the receptionists. Hoping enough low ratings will get somebody to take action. I've been to a couple of appointments here. Dr. Webber gives good care, but I've had really bad interactions with (I think) the same receptionist. She didn't send my prescription to the pharmacy, lied about it, got testy with me about it, and tried to not do it. It took multiple phone calls to make sure it got filled. Another time she was equally unhelpful when I was trying to schedule an appointment. I'm thankfully changing my insurance (which has been Medi-Cal) soon, but no matter what insurance one has, patients deserve better than this--and Dr. Webber deserves a better receptionist. read more

This review is solely about Dr. Webber's front office staff. I have been a patient for over a decade, and not once have I received a promised call back related to appointment follow up, results, etc. Most recently I've waited patiently for 2 months (!), and called repeatedly for the Dr.'s feedback on simple test results. Each time I am told the same thing: "I'll send him a message." When I described my frustration I am told, "I'm not sure who you spoke with." There are two people in his office and I speak with the same one every time. Test orders are constantly fouled up, constant confusion and errors on what the doctor ordered, multiple follow up calls from me for the simplest requests... Dr. Webber has been an excellent doctor but I'm sorry to say I can no longer be his patient, based on my experience with his front office staff. The level of service and support from them is the worst I've ever experienced, in any industry. I used to tolerate it based on his excellent care, but I can no longer. Deplorable. read more

First sign this might be a quack doctor: The building he's in on Los Feliz Blvd. is extremely run down. Half the letters in the name on the front of the building are missing. Kind of scary. Second sign this might be a quack doctor: I walked in without an appointment, as I had some kind of flu bug. (Yes, I should have called first, but I was in the neighborhood.) Woman at reception asked me some questions and asked for my health insurance info. She then says the doctor is booked, he cannot see me this afternoon. I referred to the waiting room and said "There's no one here." She said they're in the rooms. I looked down at the sign-in sheet in front of me, and there were only 4 people who'd come in this afternoon, all before the time I was in there, around 3:45pm. So she was lying to me. And didn't even bother to ask the doctor if he could see a walk-in. Unbelievable. Clearly, this is a doctor who sees as few patients as possible, because perhaps that's just enough for him to survive. Doesn't make sense, but I'm guessing he's retirement age or thereabouts. On my ride back down the rickety elevator, it reaches the ground floor and the doors don't open. 5 seconds later, they start to open and jam. Then another 5 seconds and the doors finally open. Yikes. Only a matter of time before someone gets stuck in this run-down elevator and building. I will NEVER see this doctor. I will have my insurance company re-assign me to a different one. read more

I love Dr. Webber and so does everyone I know who already went to Dr. Webber when I needed a pcp. I've had major ups and downs and he's always been thorough and empathetic, considerate with everything from convenience to cost, when it comes to referral or meds. He has been my primary care physician for 12+ years. We have moved several times but we kept Webber! Worth the drive! read more

Maybe it was my luck on that particular day...and if there are patients out there who are satisfied with this office and doctor, I'm happy for them. I just want to be clear that this review was about *my* experience and to have it documented at the very least. I was referred to Dr. Weber's office by another one of my doctors, of which I truly love and receive great care with, so I was expecting a certain standard of service and care when I visited. I'm leaving a one-star review because every aspect of my visit was a let-down and not one part of the 'care' I did receive, by anyone in the office, has made me want to go back for another visit. I am now to assume that being a calm, kind, rational, understanding, and communicative patient/patron does not entitle the same in return. During my visit the office was very dirty. There was trash (such as a lipstick-stained paper cup of half-drunk tea with its tea bag still in it, pieces of food wrappers of some kind, etc.) on the table in the waiting area. Also looking through the door to the exam room hallway, one of the nurses was sweeping (not vacuuming, but sweeping!) the dusty, dirty carpet and it was kicking up the muck. The staff was a mix between rude and ignorant. The nurse that initially tended to me was ornery and rude. Doctor Webber acted skeptical towards my responses to his questions about my health , and I am now receiving bills for services a full 8 months after my visit, which by the way are so irrational that I will have to follow up on this review once it's resolved...I don't have high hopes. I imagine doctors these days are stuck between a rock and a hard place as they have to watch every word they say and every thing they do due to legal reasons. The insurance companies and general healthcare *system* is in need of help and doesn't help anyone's situation. But it would be great help if more teams/healthcare staff and offices consisted of educated, competent, rational, and caring people! I'm learning from this experience that I don't need to go through with an appointment if I see red flags going up beforehand. It saves everyone a true headache. Never coming back here. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Webber for about four years now. He looks after both my wife and I. Last week I had to go in for my yearly physical. Dr Webber was thorough, thoughtful, patient in listening to my concerns, comprehensive in explaining my treatment options. He doesn't rush to prescribe and get you out the door and into the pharmacy; he takes time to offer solutions that have better long term benefits. Lifestyle changes for the better alongside medical therapy that is balanced and well explained. You'd be hard pressed to find a better general practitioner, with his excellent support staff making every visit a stress free pleasure. I can't recommend his practice enough. read more

Dr Webber has been my primary physician for almost 5 years now. I met him after my previous primary moved into cardiology and I was worried I wasn't going to find another doctor that I liked as much. But over the years Dr Webber has become a trusted advisor and expert healer. He helped me through a particularly scary cancer diagnosis that luckily we caught early and now everything is fine. His relationships with other top Doctors are fantastic - those perfect referrals were one of the reasons that scary experience went so smoothly. I went to Dr. Webber for about a year, I never felt as if he ever listened to me. I went to him about some breathing problems I was having, he told me that it was just anxiety. Turns out, it actually was an issue with my lungs. I went to him about a bulge in my stomach, he said it was because I was "shorter on one side." Turns out, I have a slightly enlarged liver and signs of liver disease. I went to him because I thought my bladder felt stiff. He said it was "probably a UTI" and had me take a urine test. After it came back negative, I still felt the stiffness so I finally decided to switch to a doc at UCLA. It's a good thing I did because not only did they find those other issues, but they also found THREE large cysts on my ovaries. read more

Dr. Webber is very knowledgeable, professional and attentive. He is my mother's primary doctor and even when she was hospitalized with COVID-19, he still visited her at the hospital and continued to call and see how she was after discharge. He is thorough and takes his time with each and every patient, he doesn't rush your care and the office staff are very friendly as well. read more

EDIT: DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH! Webber is a hack that could get you killed if you go to him. On top of everything below in my original review, my wife came to him multiple times over a year with internal stomach pain and visible bulging on her right side, as well as trouble breathing and stiffness in her bladder. Each time Webber told her it was because "one leg is shorter than the other, which makes her stomach bulge", and that everything else was just from anxiety. Turns out she had partially collapsed lungs, an enlarged liver showing signs of liver disease, and multiple 12cm cysts on her uterus (Yes, that's nearly 5" per cyst) If webber had bothered to order even the most basic test like an ultrasound or CT scan he could have seen something was wrong. Now because of webber we're dealing with surgeries and treating all of this DURING A PANDEMIC. If we didn't decide to go to UCLA for a second opinion, we never would have found out about these things until it was too late. Do not see this doctor if you value your health. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My wife and I have been patients here for 1 year now. Had an appointment Jan.28th and it's now March 14th and the referrals still have not been sent. That should speak volumes for the rude staff in the front. They refuse to take any respite have any empathy and act as if my health is not important. They hung up on the medical group agent who I had call because they are rude to me as the representative from the Regal medical group soon found out how mean rude and UNPROFESSIONAL they are. The crazy part of it we're ALL OF THEIR LIES! I was told first the referral person would call me (NEVER HAPPENED), then was told they were waiting to get enough patients to schedule the ultrasound technician in office (SUPER WEIRD), then I was told they would call the imaging doctor and make the appointment for me and call me back ( how, when they haven't even submitted the REFERRALS), now two months have passed and they are mad at me‍‍...MAKE IT MAKE SENSE ! Dr. Webber has been treating me and my wife for 15 years. He is an excellent physician, former Head of Medicine at Glendale Memorial and deeply respected by other doctors throughout the city. He has treated us through the routine issues of life, as well as in emergency situations, when one of us was in the hospital with a life-threatening condition. In every case, his care and care management have been superlative, considerate, attentive, and deeply caring. At the end of the day, this is what matters most. Dr. Webber in one of the few remaining quality single-practitioner practices I know. The profession is such that doctors have been forced into multi-doctor practices, where patient care takes a back seat to patient volume. It's sad, but true. Webber stubbornly refuses to submit, preferring to spend the time with his patients that they need. It's old-school, but consistent with the highest level of care. The downside of a small practice can be the issues that others complain here about. A smaller staff means less efficiency, and yes, it is sometimes frustrating to get Rxs filled correctly and test results in a timely fashion (although things are improving of late). How those issues of convenience weigh against experienced, quality care is up to you. I prefer the latter. I want to live a long time, and if some of that time has to be spent sending an extra email or making an extra call, so be it. Easy trade off for me. read more

First time here, and I've got to say that I am so pleased that my insurance made him my PCP. I've had many GP's before and could never find a great doc, but Dr. Webber is definitely the best I've had. Unlike other GPs he doesn't try to get his pts out of the office as soon as he can. He tries to find solutions and possible treatments while you're their. I'm definitely recommending Dr. Webber to my friends and whoever else is willing to drive to Atwater for a PCP. read more

I'm not really sure what some of the critical comments about the office staff are all about -- I've been a patient of Dr. Webber for nearly a decade now and have had nothing but positive experiences all around. I enjoy Dr. Webber's consultative approach to practicing medicine, as he takes the time to discuss your health or condition and address questions or concerns. His support staff seems to follow his lead and offer friendly but firm medical care. While no one wants their physician to be a jerk, it's also wise to steer clear of doctors who are way too nice. Like, I'd much rather they give me medical advice straight without the sugar-coating or slapstick comedy routine, nahmean? Friendly but professional, that's what you get at Dr. Webber's office. Moving on: at the front desk, Tatiana has always steadfastly handled the paperwork, referrals, insurance issues, and pretty much all the administrativa without a hitch. It's important to remember that she's more or less managing the entire office singlehandedly, and between the patients, Dr. Webber, the medical staff, phone calls, faxes, and office visitors she's very often being pulled in all directions at the same time. Still, she manages to stay on top of it all, takes the time to try to get to know the patients, and be the friendly face that bookends our medical visits. I also think people should start calling her "T-Money" because it sounds cool and kinda tough and maybe Yelpers would be less prone to unfairly criticize her. read more

I'm changing my PCP. Dr. Webber himself is okay and easy to talk to about my concerns. The main problem is that it is very hard to schedule an appointment. In addition to that, after they sent me for a lab test and xray, I never heard back from them about the results nor didn't even care to talk to me about the results. I called them about it after 2 months and the staff seems like she was blaming me for not following up accordingly. I asked a copy of the lab and xray results and only the lab results were provided after a week. Now I'm in the 3rd week of waiting for the xray and still it wasn't provided. read more

Dr. Webber is great. His office staff, on the other hand, will frustrate you. I just had my first visit which included a physical and blood/urine work. It's been two weeks since they said they would call me with the results, and I'm still waiting after two calls to the office. In addition, the staff will typically keep you on hold as soon as you call, claiming that they're busy. I then hang up after twelve minutes, and dial again, only to be answered immediately. When I alerted the staff to my wait time on hold, they said they were busy and forgot I was on hold. This choice of doctor is based purely on proximity to my home. Quick tip: if you're put on hold, just hang up and keep calling until they pick up. read more

I haven't had a problem with Dr. Douglas Webber, but his staff has been so bad lately, that it's just not worth it anymore. I went in for an annual checkup and the lady at the desk said she would email me all my lab requests. It took 3 phone calls to finally get my lab requests. I had to wait on the phone to make sure i finally got them since simply reminding her to send them hadn't worked. What makes things worse is that each phone call you have to wait for about 30 to 60 minutes on hold to finally get through. I finally got all my lab work done and I tried making a follow up appointment twice. I waited on the phone for 30 minutes, with messages saying I had one caller ahead of me and that i had a wait of 1 minute. Then it would go to voice mail. I tried calling a whole day with no success. I tried the 2nd day and the same thing happened. I finally left a message to call me back so i can make an appointment, and that was 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure what's going on, but there's no excuse for not calling your patients back. I finally made an appointment with another doctor. read more

Dr Webber is nice. I now question his competence, my issues were not addressed, his focus was wellness exams and prescriptions. He is complicit in his disgusting team's behavior. I filed a complaint with my Insurance provider. His workers are well aware of Dr. Webber's lack of interest, lack of involvement, and support of their passive aggressive behavior. I was really sick at one point, his new hire told me to go to the .99 store to buy affordable medication! I too have witnessed the time they waste chatting and laughing. If I could give them 0 stars I would I don't know if this doctor is aware of just how unprofessionally the people at the front desk are every single time you call they put you on hold for 18 minutes and don't even switch over to you !!! This office had my test results for over two weeks and it took him two weeks to review them and send them over ! I've also witnessed in office his staff answering a phone and putting it on hold when they were doing absolutely nothing at all it's insane . I think the girl at the front has some serious issues! I've been trying to speak to the doctor about a prescription I really need authorized by him and his office is being anything but helpful ! I'm so upset and and disappointed! Unfortunately, I can't rate Dr. Webber as a physician because his office refused to accept my Blue Shield insurance solely due to the fact that it was a Covered California (Affordable Care Act) plan. Even though they get paid the same amount from Blue Shield for procedures, they will not take any insurance provided through Covered California. When I tried to discuss this with his staff, they were extremely rude and basically treated me as if I didn't have "real" insurance. Even if your's isn't a Covered California plan, if you support the ACA/Obamacare/Covered California you probably should avoid doctors who oppose it in their practice. read more

I hate leaving this bad review because I like Dr. Webber. He listens and takes notes and doesn't give you the bum's rush but his office is run so badly it negates his lovely bedside manner. They don't return phone calls, you have to call about 3 times to talk to a real person. Getting prescriptions filled is a nightmare. Costco is like "Yeah, we faxed them about your refill 3 days ago and they haven't gotten back to us but this happens all the time with them." I have to call them every time to refill a prescription and these are meds that I take regularly. The final straw was ten days ago. I was supposed to start new meds and called the office for a prescription. One of his staff promised that she'd give him the note and call me the next day. I told myself if she didn't I'd call it quits. It's been 10 days now and still no reply. So screw it. I'm done. I found another doctor and have already been seen. His office is efficient and pleasant and I wish I'd done it years ago. read more

However, I have come to see the value of yelp and am grateful to all the people who spend time writing thoughtful reviews. Dr. Webber is a really great doctor. I was really happy with him. He's smart, kind, attentive. His office staff, however, is the reason I stopped coming to the office. They were sometimes ok, but on the whole, they were incompetent. I remember being left on hold for an extremely long time, prescriptions that were never called in, phone calls that were not returned. The office was generally unresponsive and unhelpful. I have never encountered such a low level of professionalism in any doctor's office before or since. (And couldn't be happier with my current PCP.) After really benefitting from other people offering their honest feedback on here, I've decided to warn prospective patients about this office. read more

The reviews mentioning wait times are incredibly accurate. I called to make an appointment and was asked if I would mind being put on hold. Before I could answer, I was on hold. After 20 minutes of waiting and listening to advertisements (which seemed unnecessarily about Dr. Webber) I hung up and called back. They immediately picked up with no delay! That means they just chose to not readdress the person on hold for 20 minutes when they had someone available! After mentioning my hold time, all the receptionist could say was, "Oh, sorry." She didn't care in the slightest. So after all this, I mention I'd like to set an appointment as a new patient and I'm told that the doctor is leaving today for a few weeks and I could be seen by a nurse practitioner in two weeks. My visit here was great. Usually doctors are too busy to ask all of the necessary questions. This was not the case with Dr. Webber, he took the time to go over in detail all of the issues I was concerned with. For once I did not feel rushed. The parking is rough I'm not going to sugar coat that. I was almost charged 6 dollars for a couple of hours but luckily I had shown up before the parking attendendant and he let me out with no charge. I would suggest finding street parking. It will be a lot less. As far as first impressions go, this one was outstanding. I can see the wait times taking a while, but well worth it. read more

Waited for 30 minutes to see ,Dr Webber but who amongst us has never waited to see a dr? It's a busy profession. My visit with, Dr Webber was professional and I found out a lot through my physical. Asked a lot of questions and felt the whole time like they were answered. Dr Webber has a calm and cool demeanor which allowed me comfort. Did various tests. EKG scan, oxygen check. He even remembered to give me a referral for a urologist. I return back Thursday for blood work and they were able to schedule me on short notice. Big bonus is my insurance is accepted with no dr pay or visit pay etc. read more

Unfortunately, the reviews are right about how rude this office is. I was researching this doctor and debating wether or not to ignore the reviews and give him a try. However, when I contacted the office via his website I received an incredibly rude email where the subject line (all in caps) read: "PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE FOR AN APPOINTMENT" sent by a woman named tatiana. She disregarded my questions (none of them medical), and simply said to call the office. I was completely turned off by this. Too bad because I was really hoping to make him my pcp. I would fire the entire staff and hire people who actually pay attention and care. read more

STAY CLEAR OF THIS OFFICE. They bungle EVERYTHING. Dr. Webber is nice enough, but his staff are incompetent. I've had to pay out of pocket, despite having insurance because they failed to submit forms multiple times. I've been "prescribed" physical therapy for an injury and had multiple follow up doctor visits WITHOUT RECEIVING THE THERAPY, because the office never filed the paperwork. Over and over. Every single time I need medication refilled my pharmacy says they haven't heard from the office after making several attempts to refill. They never answer the phone. Don't return calls. Forget to schedule you for confirmed doctors appointments. I've had to wait at the door for an early appointment because the staff was 15 min late for work. Got to watch them set up for the day. They just drop the ball constantly. I suppose it's ultimately my fault because I continued to see Dr. Webber, out of respect for him, but I can't stand the mistakes anymore. We tried to get an extra asthma inhaler for my son during this covid19 pandemic. Pharmacy can't get them on the phone. I've left messages (despite calling during office hours) THEY NEVER ANSWER.
