California Sports & Spine Institute - Dr. Revik Vartanian and Dr. Max Moradian discussing a procedure.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Moradian and his incredible team, including Ruben,…read moreTiffany, Tina, and the entire staff. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with genuine kindness, compassion, and professionalism. Before seeing Dr. Moradian, I was in severe pain and could barely function. It had reached a point where I was no longer able to work, and my daily life was extremely difficult. After trying acupuncture and even strong medications, I still did not experience the relief I desperately needed. I was especially hesitant to move forward with an epidural due to a traumatic experience I had in the past while I was pregnant and in labor at a different facility with another physician. At that time, epidurals are typically performed without imaging, especially in an urgent labor setting, which contributed to my distress. Because of that experience, I was extremely fearful and delayed making the decision for quite some time. However, Dr. Moradian completely changed that experience. He explained that this procedure would be performed under imaging guidance, which immediately gave me more confidence and reassurance. He took the time to calm my fears, remained patient and attentive, and made sure I felt safe every step of the way. His gentle approach and professionalism truly set him apart. The procedure itself went smoothly from beginning to end. To my surprise, I felt minimal discomfort just the initial injection to numb the area before the epidural, and nothing more. Dr. Moradian was incredibly careful, kind, and reassuring throughout, especially knowing how anxious I was. His calm demeanor made all the difference. What truly sets Dr. Moradian apart is not only his skill, but his genuine care for his patients. He follows up, listens, and ensures you feel supported throughout your healing journey. His staff reflects that same level of excellence they are organized, attentive, and truly compassionate. As someone with experience in medical office management, I pay close attention to how a practice operates, from patient communication to staff coordination. I can confidently say this team exceeds expectations in every aspect. The environment is professional, welcoming, clean and centered around patient care. Thanks to Dr. Moradian, I am now doing significantly better and finally able to regain my quality of life. I am beyond grateful for the care I received and would recommend him without hesitation. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. Dr. Moradian and his team truly go above and beyond. I feel blessed to have found them, and I sincerely thank them for helping me through such a difficult time.

After sharing my experience with my friends and neighbors on California Sports & Spine Institute, I…read morerealized I never left them a review. I know, shocking since I clearly like reviewing. So here it goes: Gather round, my friends, it's story time. So without divulging my entire medical history, I will share with my fellow Yelpers that I, Margo "Yelp-go", have EDS (has nothing to do with ED and everything to do with chronic pain) I have been to SO many pain management doctors (around 6) and after a bad experience at Risser Orthopedic (don't worry, I'll get to that review later) I decided to search for the Dr that led me to go to Risser in the first place (*cue the music*) Dr Moradian! I had seen Dr Moradian briefly around 7 yrs prior after a car accident, at Risser. He was kind, professional and after 5 other pain management doctors later, definitely more skilled. (Yes, I will publicly shame these past practices at a later date. Your girl's trying to stay positive here) When I returned to Risser, I asked to see Dr Moradian and was told he was no longer there. Obviously, I created a false narrative that he retired young and was traveling the Bahamas in happiness and that he was no longer an option for me. So fast forward to me having enough of the disappointment with Risser. (I'm talking about them randomly changing appointments on me without letting me know and literally calling me for a phone appointment when my poor grandma was dying in a hospital and then charging me for not being available despite not ever scheduling me for that day. Then mix in Evelyn with the attitude...) I digress, I was just done. I felt like I was starting from ground zero and decided I would just google Dr Moradian. I guess I thought, "hmm, maybe he's retired but has a a twin with the same career and professionalism". I'm so glad I did because *BAM* I found him (in hindsight I should have just started with this, but hey, you live and you learn) When I called to schedule, he wasn't available. An invisible tear fell from my face. The lady on the other line recommended that I try his colleague Dr Vartanian. I admit, I was hesitant but figured he had to be "okay" if he was with Dr Moradian. I was RIGHT (and a little wrong) because Dr Vartanian is amazing! *confetti emoji* He's not only the most gentle Trigger Point Injector (again, I've had this done by now 7 drs.) but he's also compassionate towards his patients and encourages a plan towards maintaining mobility for a rewarding life. He's the first doctor that I would vouch for to say that he's a genuinely good person. Not just a "good doctor" but a "good person".

From the moment I walked into his office, I was warmly greeted by his receptionist, Janelle. In fact Janelle had already been communicating with me several times that day, working with me and helping me to get my X-Rays and reports so that Dr. Agarwal could look at them before I arrived. Upon meeting Dr. Agarwal, he immediately demonstrated a truly outstanding bedside manner. He was incredibly reassuring and empathetic, as my situation was a bit complicated, and he took the time to patiently listen to everything I had to say without rushing me. I never felt dismissed or hurried--in fact, he made me feel like my concerns genuinely mattered. What stood out most was how thorough he was. He carefully explained all of my treatment options and was refreshingly honest, even noting that the data for the recommended procedure for my specific condition showed mixed success rates. He made sure I understood all the potential benefits and the risks. That level of honesty built a lot of trust. He was also clearly not focused on just "getting the procedure done." There was absolutely no pressure. In fact, I initially left the office because I was scared to go through with the epidural. While sitting in my car, I realized that if I was going to have this procedure done, he was the only doctor I felt comfortable trusting. So I went back in and asked if he still had time to see me. Even though he was just about to start his lunch break, he didn't hesitate--he welcomed me back and said he could do it. The procedure itself took about 10 minutes, and throughout the entire time, he explained everything he was doing step by step. That made a huge difference. I felt calm, informed, and not afraid. I'm incredibly glad that I went back. Just three days later, I'm already experiencing significant improvement in my pain. I'm not at 100% yet, but the difference compared to earlier in the week is remarkable. What truly sets Dr. Agarwal apart is his level of care and accessibility. He encouraged me to reach out with any questions, and when I did, he responded promptly and thoughtfully. It's rare to find a doctor who combines skill, honesty, and genuine compassion the way he does. I'm incredibly grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a physician who truly puts patients first.

My first appointment wasn't the greatest experience, which is why I took off a star. The first ultrasound tech I had seemed a bit discouraging from the start. I came in at 30 weeks, and she immediately expressed doubt about being able to get good pictures because I was already pretty far along. I tried to stay positive, but her attitude made it hard to feel hopeful. During the ultrasound, my baby was hiding her face, which of course isn't the tech's fault. However, what did make the experience uncomfortable was that she kept yawning very noticeably throughout the appointment. I completely understand being tired, but the constant large yawns made the experience feel a little awkward. I also felt like my questions may have annoyed her. I asked twice where my baby's head was, and her response made me feel like I was bothering her. That said, I was very grateful that they offer a second chance appointment. I came back today, and this time my experience was wonderful. The new ultrasound tech was incredibly sweet, gentle, and patient. I wish I had gotten her name so I could give her proper credit. My baby was still a little stubborn and hiding at times, but the tech stayed positive and patient throughout the whole session. Because of her kindness and effort, we were able to get some great pictures and videos of my baby.
